Keiji walked into the training room, nervous, as any new student would be. The air was thick with tension, and the floorboards creaked under Keiji's weight as he walked over them. "Hello?" Keiji asked, unsure of whether anyone was in the room or not. There was the sound of someone running behind him, and Keiji spun around to see who it was. The person running behind him was his instructor. His instructor was a woman, something he had not been used to, but if its what he must do to become stronger, he would have to set aside any doubts.
"There you are! You're Keiji Ito correct?" His instructor asked. Keiji nodded. "Okay then, let's get started." His instructor closed the door behind them. "First lesson is basic training. Hand to hand combat is important. If your sword is knocked away from you, you must be able to fight without it." His instructor coldly stared at him. Keiji, unsure of how to attack, thought to himself. "She won't hold back on me, she's just intimidating me." Keiji sprinted forward, drawing back his arm for a punch. As he drew his arm forward, he instructor blocked it with her right arm. Keiji's punch didn't stop however, as he kept pushing, making his instructor start to slide backwards. His instructor realizing that his punch was stronger than she anticipated, the instructor pushed his arm up and gave a swift kick into his side.
Keiji fell over to his side. "You have power, you just need to expect more from an opponent." His instructor taunted to him. "Now then, choose your practice sword." Keiji got up hold his aching side. There were several choices, the swords sizing from what looked like a dagger to incredibly long swords. Keiji chose the one that looked most like his, which was five feet long. "That's a bigger sword, you sure that you want to use it?" his instructor asked. "Yep, the better I get at using bigger swords, the better I will be." The female instructor smirked, "By the way my name is Idori. Your sword training will be on this dummy." Keiji studied the dummy for a minute and asked, "Is there something with the dummy or is it just me?" "It is no ordinary training dummy. It absorbs any spiritual energy that was put into an attack, and releases it back at the attacker." Idori replied. Keiji took up his large wooden training sword and took up his stance. Keiji was loose a two handed swing at the dummy, hitting it with a driving force. Suddenly! The dummy released a bright silver beam back at Keiji hitting him in the chest. Keiji winced in pain as he felt his chest being hit by the same force that he hit the dummy with. "I hate to be the one to say it, but I told ya so." Idori chanted. Keiji, embarrassed by this, got back up onto his feet.
Keiji again took his battle stance, and let loose another swing using both hands, this time it was more concentrated, hitting the dummy at the neckline. A loud crack was heard, followed by the sound of the dummy's head falling to the ground. Idori walked over to the dummy's fallen head. She picked it up, "Nice job. Onto the next lesson."
