Kaiyo was knocked to her feet again, she got up and attacked with even more force, once again the girl did little to defend and was swiped along her feet, landing with a thud to the ground. Her trainer snarled angrily, 'I told you to block!' he bellowed down at the girl. 'I know i'm sorry i just, well i thought if i hit you instead'. The teacher sighed heavily and put his arm out to help the young girl up. 'Look, you have a lot of skill and your attacks are quick and powerful, but you need to block, if you don't you will never win a fight' The man looked sternly down at the girl, 'Is that understood?'. 'yes sir!', determination spread across Kaiyo's face, come on, keep your stance, attack then block.
The sparring began again, Kaiyo started with a lunge forward, which left her body completely open to attack, thanfully her teacher was in a good mood and he didn't take advantage; instead her waiting until she regained the usual stance and he made a straight slash down with his sword, Kaiyo anticiapted the attack and quickly moved her sword to block the attack, the wooden swords clashed against eachother. 'Better' the teahcer jumped back, 'Now lets see what else you got'.
Kaiyo gripped her sword tightly and prepared herself for what was coming. Her teacher jupmed into the air with his sword raised, Kaiyo moved quickly out of his way, dodging the attack. He was quick on his feet and aimed an attack for Kaiyo's leg, the girl was caught of guard and knocked across the floor, knowing that wasn't the end of the fight she got up quickly and tried to hit her trainer in his side, her attack was fast and unanticapeted, but her teacher was faster and stronger than her, he moved his sword down to his side blocked the attack, then countering by swiping his sword and Kaiyo's side as well. She jumped backwards as fast as she could but was too slow, she was hit in her side and pushed across the room, at least this time not falling. 'I said block, not dodge!' Her teacher jumped forwards again, this time faster. Once again instinct took over and Kaiyo tried to move out fo the way of the attack, she was hit on her shoulder and fell to her knees; getting quite annoyed now her trainer kicked her in head, causing her to fly backwards.
'Block the attacks, or get more bruises!'. Kaiyo slowly got to her feet and readied her stance, this time she wasn't moving. the man stared at her for a second, then he moved, Shunpo'ed to straight in front of Kaiyo, he raised his sword to above his head and swung in downwards.Kaiyo lifted her sword in time with the attack and blocked in neatly, he tried again, this time quickly moving in sideways, she blocked again, adjusting her body to defend mofe effectively. The man grinned happily and appeared behind Kaiyo, she couldn't turn fast enough and was flung across the room. 'Much better, that'll do for today, go to the medical centre and get yourself checked out, that was a good lesson kid, looks like you got some potential in there still'

Kaiyo was not afraid to get hurt, in fact it was in this senseless bravery that most of her success bloomed. However, the bruises she had recieved from her last Zanjutsu lesson had finally knocked some sense into the girl, the idea that just hitting your opponent more was still held highly in thoughts of the girl, only now she realised that she would also have to block more attacks.
Kaiyo wandered along the academy corridoor, lessons were due to start any minute, it was the end of lunch and Kaiyo was just on her way to find her bag. She knew from experience that you could learn from each day and each event within that day, but a new perspective that was about to be thrust into her was an interesting one, that someone can learn from each fight; of course she knew slightly of this idea but she had always imagined it in a different setting, like how she fought with her Zanjutsu teacher.
Kaiyo walked into the classroom and retrieved her bag from the desk, she swung it over her shoulder as usual. Unusually, today there was a person standing behind Kaiyo at the unfortunate time when she swung her bag onto her shoulder, the experience as a whole could had ended very seriously, the boy being hit in the head was in fact quite lucky he was not any shorter, he was in one of Kaiyo's classes he was quite arrogant, his name was Kira. Despite the seriousness of the event, Kaiyo could not stop laughing. The boy held his head with his hand, checking for bleeding during which time Kaiyo had tried to apologise for both hitting the boy and then laughing, fate had a different idea, Kaiyo went to say sorry and out of her mouth came an eruption of laughter, the boy did not seem amused, which unfortunately only served to make the accident even funnier.
Eventually the boy himself erupted,'Hey! That really hurt what the hell are you thinking you little brat'. Kaiyo tried to regain her composure, before replying to the boy was decided to wipe the tears that had appeared in her eyes, 'I'm really sorry, i just didn't see you there'. The boy only got even angrier at the giggled apology, he pushed Kaiyo over a desk, although in general the girl had very good reactions, these were shot the instant she started laughing. She flew over the desk and landed in a heap the other side, still laughing. The boy went to attack the girl more, apparanately even more furious, he stormed over to Kaiyo and moving his fist back, ready for another hit. The boy hand was grabbed tightly behind him, and the woman holding it continued to twist his arm around his back, forcing him into submission. 'Kaiyo, Saiyouko, can you not stop getting in trouble?!' the woman bellowed at the girl. Of course out of all of Kaiyo's teachers the one to find her in a 'fight' (although Kaiyo would definately argue otherwise) would be her History teacher. She twisted the boys arm even more as he winced with pain, 'You!' she pointed down to Kaiyo, 'Get to your lesson now' the girl had no choice but to obey the order given.
She arrived later to her lesson and was made to run laps for the most of it, she hadn't seen the boy since their last encounter, but she definatley felt sorry for him, she wouldn't want to be stuck with her teacher. At the end of her Zanjutsu lesson Kaiyo stayed outside to practise, it was at this boy that same boy came storming up to her, 'Come on then' he picked up a nearby sword that had been left out by the girl's trainer, 'Lets sort this out, you, me and wipe that stupid grin off your face'. Never one to back down to a challenge Kaiyo accepted, 'Fine fine, but don't get too mad, it'll affect your fighting'.
The boy lunged towards Kaiyo in a furious rage, Kaiyo sighed slightly, i tried to warn him, some people are just too mad for their own good. Kaiyo blocked the attack with a single swipe of her sword, she then countered and hit the boy on his back. Kira stumbled forwards and nearly fell, once again he swung his sword angrily, this time catching Kaiyo off guard, she lept background and fell to ground, at least not getting hit by the attack. He stumbled forwards to attack her again.
Kaiyo had wanted to try a practical use for her Shunpo lessons, she only hoped it would work. She was quite away from Kira, so she had a few seconds to concerntrate, if she timed it well she would just have Shunpo a short distance to behind the boy, a challenge to say the least. The last 'practical use' Kaiyo had for Shunpo was with the trees, and incident that left the unconscious in a field all night. But optimism and thrill seeking lead the way. Kira got closer to Kaiyo and raised his sword in anticipation of the attack. Kaiyo focused her spiritual energy, and waited for the split second she had....everything around her became a blur and she had to guess the distance. Unfortunately Kaiyo still didn't have the hang of Shunpo and she had gone too far back, luckily enough Kira had slow reactions and Kaiyo still managed to get in her attack. While the boy was turning around to find his opponent Kaiyo had lunged at his back, her sword raised over her shoulder, and with all the force she had she swung it down to his body.
Kaiyo left Kira lying on the floor, probably unconscious, she wasn't entirely sure. She walked calmly back to the Acadamy halls, happy she had managed to put into practise another lesson, I tried to tell him not to get too angry, Kaiyo giggled slightly to herself, still laughing at the bad incident.

Kaiyo had entered, she was there, she was ready, she was bricking it. A tournament was open to all academy students, Kaiyo had written her name down on the sign up sheet with a passed though, that thought had definately passed. Her first fight would be the third fight of the tournament, so far, the fights had been brutal. The rules were quite simple, you had to force your opponent the ground, or they had to leave the fighting area. There were 24 competitors in total, which meant there were 6 rounds in total.
As Kaiyo watched the cuurent match come a halt, a thought occured to the young girl, all of the previous fights had been long, each startingwith the competitors alowing their oppononent to take their stance and wait a while to be ready.The current match finished, the winner a knoble boy, who didn't even help his opponent up from the floor. Kaiyo's name was called by one of the judges, she stood up slowly and made her way to the arena, still thinking on how short she could make the match.
Kaiyo had usually had quite good luck, today was no exception her opponent was Kira, the angry boy who she had accidently hit with her bag, then beaten in a duel. He picked up his bokken and began spinning it around himself, an obivously practised routine but Kaiyo did appreciate how good it looked. Kira finished his display and walked over to Kaiyo, pushing her back slightly, 'we'll call this your punishment shall we' the boy snarled. Kaiyo had been previosuly slightly anxious about using her new idea, not any more. The judge announced that the fight would begin on his whistle.
Standing either side of a line and preparing to move into their stances the opponents stared into the eys of the other. The whistle blew and as Kira readied himself and moved into the first position, Kaiyo leaned forward and swiped her sword along his feet, knocking him to the ground almost instantly. Hmm, i guess it does work, Kaiyo had anticipated round one to be a bit harder, oh well, maybe you can pay me back another time grinned the girl down to Kira as she held out her hand to pull him up. Kira hit Kaiyo's hand away and got up by himself pushing the girl back again then throwing his wooden sword to the side of the arena and storming off. Kaiyo walked to the side of the arena and handed back her sword, thank you she smiled.

'Round TWO' screamed one of the judges from the Arena. '1st match, Kaiyo Saiyouko vs Hiraki Hirano' . Kaiyo knew this fight would require a lot more effort, and she had prepared herself for it.
Fighting spirit had never been something Kaiyo was lacking in, she loved to fight, of course she preferred fights which weren't to the death, friendly sparring made for a great pass time, Kaiyo was the first one to the arena, she watch her opponent make his way to her, she had never even heard of anyone called Hiraki so she was quite interested with her opponent. Kaiyo had assumed Hiraki would be male, but walking her way to the arena was tall woman, about a foot higher than Kaiyo,her brown hair was tied tied up loosly with a bow, and her figure was quite petit.
Kaiyo tried not to judge her fight with the girl too much by her appearance, but she didn't think she looked much like an opponent. The tall girl walked over to Kaiyo and shook her hand, 'Best of luck' she said this with a deadpan face, blank of all emotion, Kaiyo shaked her hand back, 'yeah you too' she smiled. Both girls readied their stances on either side of the line and waited for the whistle.
Upon the start of the fight an unexpected incident occured, Hiraki (definately stealing Kaiyo's idea) leaned forward and swung her sword across Kaiyo's feet, this did catch Kaiyo off balance but upon her fall for the ground she pushed her body wait onto the palm of her hand, which had landed on the ground first, pushing off from her hand Kaiyo was still in the fight as she jumped backwards.
Sliding across the floor on her feet Kaiyo gripped her sword at tightly as she could, Hiraki stood emotionless i front of her and Kaiyo (once again) couldn't help but smile; she was a thrill seeker, and loving nothing more than a challenge she embraced the fight and enjoyed every moment of it. Kaiyo watched as Hiraki jumped into the air, he sword raised as she prepared to land it on Kaiyo.
Kaiyo had seen Hiraki in her fist fight, she didn't know who she was, but she had managed to work out that this was her strongest attack ,We are most vulnerable during our best attack, the voice in her head echoed, Zenpyou was wise like that. Kaiyo prepared her sword and waited for her opening, the moment before Hiraki landed kaiyo jumped off the ground, and at the exact moment Hiraki had landed Kaiyo kicked her square in the jaw. The girl went tumbling along the floor and Kaiyo landed gracefully, with a tinge of guilt. The judge announced Kaiyo the winner. Kaiyo ran over to Hiraki and helped her up, the tall girl looked down at Kaiyo and smiled ,'Well done on winning Kaiyo, that was an excellent counter'. Kaiyo smiled back at Hiraki, 'Your really good Hiraki, i just got lucky' she gracefully replied. Kaiyo heard another voice in her head, 'Well done Kaiyo, you are progressing well'.
