Jin was spending another sun drenched afternoon laying on the grassy plains of the training field, the warm rays enveloping his feature imbueing each cell with the joy of a summer afternoon. the light breeze tickling at his cheeks like feathers carresing his skin. This was how life was supposed to be spent.

He'd had to keep to the back of the field as it wouldnt be his first time getting scolded if he were caught, he was starting to think the tutors were taking this to be a serious offence, meh he wasnt really in a position to condemn their actions since he wasnt exactly making the most prosperous use of his time but still breaking a few rules definately had its rewards.

as he lay in the blissful position a ominous black silhouette obscured his vision engulfing his figure in shadow,

-ahhh what a pain those damn tutors must have caught on to me, this'l be awkward-

but before he'd even gathered his senses enough to be able to open his eye a booming voice rang in his ears, not the best way to be dragged out of his idillic relaxation

NPC Shinigami: OI Bastard am i correct in assuming you to be Jin Yagami?

Realising that this could not be the presence of one of his tutors due to the sustained lack of violence towards him so far his thought immediately turned to annoyance at this man waking him from his slumber

"Shut up, that damn voice of yours is too loud whats it too you whether or not im Jin"
the words left his lips but that was about the only part of his feature that did move he somehow managed to keep all other parts of his anatomy perfectly still almost as if he was clinging to those last dregs of rest before moving

NPC Shinigami: My name is Seru Kouseki I've been watching you in our classes and deemed you to be the one illdefeat first in my goal of becoming top dog.

"Seru? i dont recognise that name at all you cant be all that skilled if you name dosnt even register. why chose such a time consuming goal how about instead we just drink some sake or something ill even let you tell people you beat me"

NPC Seru: oi you better acknowledge me, keeping you eye closed when talking to someone like me. Dogs like you sicken me NO AMBITION!!!!.

by this point Seru had begun to shout and it was bothering Jin that it may attract attention from the turtors, dammit that would be troublesome

NPC Seru: you've got 5 seconds before i begin my attack so get up fool

"ahhh fine Kouseki you've got your fight maybe i can rest if i shut that large mouth of your's"

with that Jin stood up finally lifting the lids that felt as though they were made of lead unleashing the hazel brown spheres behind that would quickly analyse Seru's fighting style, every muscle in his body scolded him for dragging them from they're stasis. he quickly unsheathed his katana only to have too swing it up with unexpected speed to black Seru's untimely attack

NPC Seru: 5 seconds, is up he said with a smirk as sparks flew from the deadlocked blades Jin not being one to waste his energies with speach denied Seru a response and replied only by jumping back and pointing a finger toward his hotheaded opponent.

"Hadou number 4: Byakurai"

the shot of white lightning blasted from his finger flying toward Seru who's face portrayed his shock at his opponent succesfully performing a kidou, the shock actually causing him a delay in his reaction speed causing the kidou to graze his arm as he dodged, skidding to a halt a few metres to the left.

Jin smiled as this was the first time using Kidou in actual combat, and its success without even the incantation filled him with confidence maybe this wasnt such a bad idea. he had no intention of wasting the opportunity he'd created following up his initial attack with a charge toward his enemy, Seru had now regained his composure readying himself for his Jin's strike as he came within range Seru let off a horizontal slash at the incoming figure but this course of action was just what Jin had hoped for, leaping off the ground he brought an overhead strike vertically down towards his opponents cranium ready to split him in half only to have the move blocked by Seru's ingenious improvisational defense with his katana's sheath. the impact from the strike causing the grip's of both combatant's to shake the strain eisily visible in their feature's as a bead of sweat slowly ran down Jin's temple, but this recoil gave Jin the perfect leverage to backward somersault away from Seru landing a few yards away facing his opponent.

NPC Seru: well well you suprise me Yagami, in truth i picked you too be first since your lazyness seemed the perfect indication off weakness, ive seen you in swordsmanship practice i dont think you've actually managed to win a single sparring session but here we are deadlocked in this duel. And a Kidou...my i do belive your the first of the new recruits to actually perform one outside of school not a feat to be laughed at actua...

Seru's words were cut short by a curt interuption by Jin

"as grateful as i am for you compliments i really would like to finish this up, this day has such perfect weather i dont want to waste it here"

The offense became imediately apparent in Seru's feature, it seemed he was going to be taking this session a little too seriously from here on out no more holding back.

Dust from the dried soil floated through the air on the light breeze as the too fighters stared each other out, this was it the final round the fight would end here all that prolonged it was for one too make the first move.

-It was always when he was resting that people decided to bother him- Jin considered with resentment not taking into accoint the disproportionate amount of time he actually spent resting, which made it very hard for anyone to talk to him when he was engaged in anything else, but still this guy had performed the very act about which Jin had been complaining and now it was about time he ended the interruption.

"HYAAA" the loud battlecry ripped from his vocal chord's some of Seru's warrior spirit seemingly infecting him, Sparks flew as Jin's blade clashed against Seru's, he swung it back peparing to rain down a torrent of blows on his opponent beating Seru into submission. But the man refused to go out like that parrying the attacks with more skill than Jin anticipated and turning the tide of battle with an onslaught of his own. Further and further Jin was pushed back ducking and dodging skilfully twisting his limbs to block the incoming strikes, only to feel faliure hit him with sparce slices to his torso as the odd strike made its way through his defence.

This guy may have had no kidou skills but he sure as hell matched Jin with a blade maybe even bettering him.

No he wasn't going out like this cut too ribbon's by this hot headed idiot. Jin defended one of the strikes parrying it with excessive force, shocking his enemy and knocking the katana away creating un opening, with unyeilding speed he brought his blade down again slicing open Seru's chest through his Kimono.

NPC Seru: "wha..what the hell" the man stuttered looking down at the copious amounts of blood leaking from his wound " how did i even let that happen....Damn you Yagami Jin...as if this flesh wound would stop me" he yelled jumping straight back into the fray of they're struggle with an over head strike.

Jin had taken the lead quickly gaining the advantage and he wasnt about to lose it, skidding backward with a push from his leading foot he jumped high above his opponent eisily avoiding the enraged attacker, somersaulting and dropping behind his foe he swiped vertically behind himself tearing into the Seru's flesh, Jin was not an eager fighter but when he began it wasn't unusual for him to completely lose compassion for his opponent tearing them to shred's without a second thought. Where this callous nature had come from he had never understood but he never fought it. As the proud man dropped to his knee Jin sheathed his katana beggining to take his leave,

NPC Seru: The hell are you doing get back here im not finished with you

the man gave one final charge at Jin anger blazing in his pupils as he recklessly swung his blade at Jin's overbearing figure. But as the blade sank into his shoulder tearing through his flesh slicing through his skin like a knife through butter the body evaporated proving to be nothing more than and after image,

"Hadou number 5:Disarm" a faceless voice boomed from behind Seru an invisible for smashing into his spine forcing him face down into the dry hardened dirt of they're arena.

"Next time you want to challenge those you think of as lower than youself, remember not to judge a book by its cover" Jin smirked as he walked away loving that that line had come out just as it had sounded in his head. Despite his cool appearanc if it hadnt been for gaining the opening that allowed him to cut at Seru's chest he would have probably lost that duel, it was only when the beast became reckless that Jin gained his advantage. But that was a matter for another day Jin decided for now he'd go and refresh himself with one of those delicious milkshakes that would be the best way to end this enjoyable session.
