It was hard for
Elven to put herself forward too much. She was a bit of an introvert, and that shyness still made it difficult to approach people. But
Elven needed to put the skills she’d been learning in her time with
Hoshi to the test in the real world. So, she’d asked one of the better swordsmen to spar with her.
She was incredibly nervous. This guy was good. And she was trying to fight the nerves down. Which only made her
more nervous, damn it.
Still, a bit of experience would shake that loose, right? Right???
“Well, lets start.”” She said with a smile.
She faced her opponent, took a deep breath then let it out slowly. Carefully, she noted the expanse of the sparring grounds, one didn’t need to bump into walls after all. And she settled carefully into her stance, feet placed wide enough to give her stability and quick shifts in motion, but not so wide that it impaired her mobility. She had her sheath held in her right hand, with her left hovering over the hilt, ready to grip and draw. As she faced her opponent her eyes lost the nerves and began to deepen into blue/grey.
The first element of battle had been mastered. All doubts were cast aside. She was focused and ready...
