Seeing the crimson light illuminate before his eyes Shikyo knew what was going to come next. He spun his staff in anticipation for his opponent's attack but decided against a defensive maneuver when he saw Kajitora waiting for him to make a move. It was the perfect opportunity to try the move Hiroshi had taught him. He knew that it would probably not work twice so he intended for the attack to be a surprise to his opponent. "Wall of iron sand, pagoda of priestly form, shimmering fireflies of iron, fill until the silent end." Shikyo announced as his reiatsu concentrated within him. "Way of Binding # 75: Gochuutekkan!" As he said this five iron pillars materialized from the air, aiming directly for Kajitora's arms and legs. If the attack was successful then his opponent would be unable to move, preventing him from releasing his own attack. After announcing the spell, Shikyo wasted no time in announcing his second attack, "Way of Destruction # 54: Haien!"

Shikyo used his shunpo to move behind his opponent mili-seconds after announcing the attack as he released it. According to his calculations, even if his opponent somehow managed to maneuver out of the binding kidou, his combination of shunpo and secondary kidou would be enough to damage him. Purple energy formed around Shikyo's hands, completely enveloping his appendages before he released it from his body. Unsheathing his zanpakuto after releasing the deadly attack, Shikyo waited patiently for his enemy's counter-attack.

Kajitora noticed the giant pillars immediately and decided to go ahead with his plan but add one change, instead of trying to use his plan on the ground-he was about become airborne. As the pillars descended, Kajitora shot the empowered Shakkahou at the pillars, creating a mammoth explosion in the air followed by smoke. Kajitora shunpo’d immediately up into the smoke; making is improbable for his opponent to hit him with another kidou. From there he felt he had plenty of time to work his master plan. He used a rope trick that he had read about from the same Vice-Captain that used the empowered Shakkahou. He used kidou rope, a simple almost completely invisible rope (low level kidou ability too) and wove a decent amount before he threw the rope in front of himself and then fired a half power Hado # 58: “Tenran”. The hurricane like kidou was aimed down at his opponent like a funnel. A windy funnel that propelled the kidou rope to the ground. If his opponent dodged the kidou, Kajitora planned to instantly shunpo down in the spot Shikyo had been in before the attack: which left Kajitora in the middle of the kidou rope spread around him 360 degrees.

He placed his hand to the ground and readied his mouth for another kidou.

Shikyo was fast, but he wasn't fast enough. His eyes shot wide open as his opponent disappeared into the smoke above him. Squinting his eyes he attempted to see what the shinigami was planning but did not react fast enough as the spinning vortex descended upon him. The force of the attack crushed the concrete platform where he stood. As the smoke cleared Shikyo lay on the ground, mumbling a string of curses that would make a sailor proud. Not only had his attack failed to hit his opponent but now the fiery tornado released at him had left him ravaged, blood seeping from the open wounds in his arms. At the last second he had been able to protect his face, which probably saved his life as now his energy was nearly depleted. Slowly rolling over and using his zanpakuto to help himself to his feet he felt a sharp pain in his side. Feeling the bruise with his arm he realized that the attack had probably broken one of his ribs and he would be in no condition to continue much longer.

He knew that because it was just a sparring match that he could afford to lose without losing his life but if this was any indication to how he would fare in the battle field, his training desperately needed to be increased. Raising his hand in the air he waved at his opponent while forcing himself to smile, "You're good. Better than I expected, but I have no intention of continuing this fight in this condition." Coughing as dust escaped his lungs he limped out of the meteor-sized crater and onto the remaining part of the platform. "One day we will have a rematch. Believe me."

Kajitora shunpo'd in front of Shikyo, and sighed a deep sigh of relief. His last Kidou had been straining his energy; the next one he had planned to use would have cause serious internal wounds. Kajitora bowed deeply and said, “Thank you very much for the spar. You were definitely the strongest opponent I’ve ever fought and the smartest. I hope to see you in the field of battle; it would put me to ease to have a great warrior like you watching my back.”

He sheathed his sword slowly and continued, “If you become much more powerful, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with you but I would like to have a rematch as well. Maybe you could help me train my Shikai later? I would greatly appreciate it.” He sat down on the ground, his legs exhausted and his energy at its minimum. He smiled at the thought that there were shinigami this strong.

Shikyo you can no longer gain spirit power from this thread. If you wouldn't mind continuing the fight until kajitor has finished as well that would be great. Otherwise i'll npc for you.

I would but I think our battle actually resolved itself already.
