Leden found the book he was looking for on Shikai. He then walks down the row to find a seat. The Shikai (initial release) is the second form available to a Zanpakutō. To activate it, the Shinigami needs to learn the name of their Zanpakutō. This is not as easy as simply picking a name, as the living spirit of the Zanpakutō already has its own name. Therefore, the Shinigami must be able to communicate and harmonize with their Zanpakutō effectively, which requires being able to speak to the spirit within its world.

Leden walked in to the library and grabbed a book on the squads. It was time he looked more in to this to find what one would be best for him after graduations. He walked over to his spot and sat down under the window and started to read*

The Gotei 13 (護廷十三隊, Goteijūsantai; 13 Division Imperial Guards, or is the organization which most Shinigami join, and one of the three main branches of military in Soul Society. It is split into thirteen divisions (hence the name), with several divisions having certain specializations. The Gotei 13 is subservient to the edicts of the Central 46 Chambers. They also have no jurisdiction over any of the noble families. The symbol of the Gotei 13 is a rhombus, all the 13 Divisions symbols are placed within the rhombus on the back of the Captains haori. The Kidō Corps, not officially considered as part of the Gotei 13, is still under the authority of the Central 46, and works together with Soul Society, it is why it is actually here, but officially, both Kidō Corps and Onmitsukidō are not part of the Gotei 13.

I am not good enough at Kido to be a part of the Kido Corp and I am not sure Covert Ops is form me. So I wonder how much pull the Central 46 really has. And also what do the different squads do. I have to make sure its right for me.
