“Wake up, Ayame.” The teacher poked Ryouta awake.
“Hmm…?”
“Here’s your test back on Hollow, Menos, and Adjuchas. Excellent work as always. 100%. I don’t know how you do it.” The teacher handed him back his test.
“Yeah well, I’m a talented guy.” Ryouta put his head back on the desk.
The teacher walked back to the front of the class.
“Our next unit is on Arrancar. They are Hollows who have removed their masks to a certain point, granting them Shinigami abilities.”
Having already finished reading the textbook for the entire year, Ryouta sat, bored in class observing the board with an extremely bored expression on his face. It was so d*mned boring because the class was taught at a snail’s pace. Ryouta heaved a loud sigh.
“Is there a problem, Ayame?” The teacher asked.
“It’s Ryouta. And your class is boring.” Ryouta stifled a yawn behind his hand.
“Boring you may think it is, but this is important for you to know.”
“Uh huh. That’s not the part I care about- could you teach at a faster pace?”
His classmates all turn to Ryouta and begin yelling at him, admonishing him for making things harder.
“Oh sorry. Go on.” Ryouta waved his hand at the teacher to continue.
The teacher continued on with his lecture.
“As I was saying; today we will be learning about the abilities of Arrancar. So, what does it mean when I say they have Shinigami abilities? Firstly, they have humanoid form. How humanoid a Hollow looks is a good initial indicator of its power. Arrancar can gain a Zanpakutō. Unlike with shinigami, this zanpakutō is not sentient, but simply their "true" hollow form sealed into a sword. Therefore, an arrancar's release of their zanpakutō is merely a temporary restoration to their former selves, granting them any powers their hollow form possesses. The act of release is called Resurrección, which is activated with a command phrase followed by the name of the sword.”

By this time, Ryouta was reading a book on Shinigami scientific history written by one Urahara Kisuke that he had gotten from the Academy library. As he read, he took notes. In fact, the notebook he had out did not have a single iota of information about anything the teacher had taught in the past few weeks, but only information he had gained from reading Urahara’s book. It included information on Artificial Souls, Gigai, Reiatsu Suppression, and even Garganta. Right now, he was reading about Tenshintai and the Hogyoku, as well as Hollowfication.
“Mr Ayame, don’t you think that-” Ryouta raised his hand to stop the teacher from speaking.
“No. I know all the stuff you’re teaching, and what you will teach for the rest of the year. In fact, I learned all the stuff you would’ve taught by the end of first quarter. I’m almost finished with Mr Urahara’s work here. I think I will spend 3rd quarter with this book.”
Ryouta raised a book that had been written by one Kurotsuchi Mayuri.
“From what I’ve gathered, this man was…well, strange, but that’s ok. So long as there’s useful information.” Ignoring the teacher’s incredulous look, Ryouta goes back to reading his book and taking notes on what is written.
