PostSubject: Bandits and Hollow, Nothing else to Follow(ShibataTim)   Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:58 am

In district 73 of South Rukongai there were many residing hollow feeding off of the stronger residents of the slums: the bandits. These bandits were easily able to hold their ground against the hollow that they came across and were mainly hunting the other residents of this district of Rukongai. The ground was hard and almost resembled rock, but this was because it hasn't rained for a while here. A young female walked from behind a tree and her bright red hair shined intensely; it could be seen from a good fifty feet away for those paying close enough attention, and her hair brightened the pale and gloomy brown of the dead leaves and dried bark. She looked towards the lighter, yet monotone ground; her smile wasn't to be seen, and it hasn't been seen ever since she entered district 15. Of course, she decided that this time she wouldn't travel alone through Rukongai. After losing her Asauchi to some renegade girl she wanted somebody along side her so that she could hope for protection. She fiddled with the handle of her new blade; a blade she hadn't even become used to yet. Unfortunately she wasn't able to get a new Asauchi and had to use a long metal slab with sharpened edges, and a flat yet sharp tip. This was securely wedged deep into the wooden based that acted as a handle, and there were two holes in it in which a rope fed through to connect to the base; on the base there was another hole that the rope fed through and was tightly pulled together for increased stability and give a sturdier weapon.

As Anna drew her blade she slowly tried to get used to the weight. It was heavier then the Asauchi, but it would have more of an impact and would flow a bit better for her. She turned to look over at the person she wanted to do a simple hunting of bandits and hollow with; a good friend of hers that she worked with before. Her bright, light blue eyes were quite easy to see through the mass of red hair covering her face. Anna thought that he must have fallen behind after her last sprint, and so she sat down to wait for his appearance.

While she was waiting she though about her acceptance into squad 9 of the Gotei 13, and smiled. She knew that she could get in quickly if she worked hard enough, but it still wasn't enough to her... After her last battle in Rukongai, against a mere resident of the slums, she found herself weak and at a disadvantage. To think that she could be defeated so easily by a slum resident, and at that a child! She sighed with lack of hope, yet she was determined to get better.

Tim had been drawn to this district of Rukongai by his friend Anna. He had been following her for the most part until she had sprinted ahead. Something that he would of advised against, but who was he to tell her what to do? Truthfully, this place felt dark to him. The trees looked as if they were all dead and most of their leaves were on the ground, shriveled up and withered. He leaned against one of these dead trees with his right hand, catching his breathe. Indeed it was a long trip from the Seireitai to the South district of Rukongai. In fact, he had never been here before.

The air was thick and he could sense the presence of ill-intention-ed men and dark spirits. His breathe was almost all gone now as he exhaled it felt as if his very life force was bringing brought out of him; he could even see his breathe which made this feeling seem even more real. Though it wasn't true, just some trickery by the evil spirits nearby. After he had regained his composure, a few moments later, he continued walking. Following the disturbed leaves of the ground to get an idea where Anna had ran off to.

A few moments later he breached into an opening within the small woods. Upon reaching this opening he spotted Anna and her bright hair resting next to a trunk of a tree. Approaching her he spoke softly, attempting to keep his voice low for the imminent threat of Bandits and Hollows. "Anna...psst Anna. Keep your voice at a low tone...We are not alone here." Tim said as he could sense a presence within the woods, not of their own. "I may of been a master at dispatching Bandits back when I was actually living, but here...this world is different. Many things are not as they seem, my friend."

He gripped his Asauchi with his right hand over the handle and his left hand on the sheathe; preparing himself for any coming threat. Scanning the forest around them, trying to pick out anything foreign to the woods. Though it was dark now, very dark and it was hard to see anything except for Anna's luminescent hair.

Anna sighed as she had these thoughts, and was still awaiting Shibata whom shouldn't be this far behind. She thought about whether or not he got lost, or if he was dead. That wouldn't be really helpful to Anna. What's the point of bringing somebody along if they die suddenly? She thought to herself about this situation and decided that if he were still alive to stay near him. If he didn't show up soon, though, she would go search for him quickly and see why it took him so long. She though of what she would do if she were to find a dead body, or run into an ambush of some kind. There were so many variables of Rukongai that she had to take into consideration that she almost didn't hear Shibata near her area. When she heard his voice there was a cracking above of, and she looked up swiftly, her hair parting to the sides of her face. In the tree there was a hollow that stared directly into her bright blue eyes; it seemed to want something that she had, but not Anna herself. She examined it closely, and took into notice that it had a long tail in which was turning the color of the tree in which it was wrapped around. The Hollows mask was very flat yet lizard like; the legs long and thin, and the body was also thin with spines coming out of the back. She then noticed that the hollows mouth was slight open; the tongue of the beast was the last thing she looked at before jumping to the side with her heavy blade following.

"Too late! They've already found us." Anna said to Shibata, and she lifted her hand quickly to build up energy without knowing there was a hollow not far behind her. It rushed at her, resembling a Gorilla with massive arms and claws at the end, and rammed into her back for a quick disorientation. The mass of the creature combined with its momentum lifted Anna off of her feet and into a tree, and she was unable to release her spell due to being knocked out.

"Wait for him." Anna said, indicating a strong hollow in which she had felt enter the area not too long ago. Before Shibata would be able to react another hollow from this group attacks at his back. It resembled a snake with two arms and a spiked tail. This hollow had a mask with sharp fang like protrusions near the mouth, and slits for eyes. The hollow that knocked Anna out had a mask that seemed to be a triangle with circles as the mouth and eyes. It was searching for other Shinigami, but none were in his direct sight.

"Kill her already, Gritzal! If you take too long then I will kill her myself." said the hollow in the tree, and its tongue fired out from the tree and through Anna's shoulder. It seemed to be leeching the blood slowly from her body. The stronger hollow, Gritzal, merely sighed and sat down.

"You're so strange with those abilities, Eliso" Gritzal said. The fact that another larger Hollow was stealthily sneaking behind the bulk of strength was shocking. Gritzal was minding his own business when suddenly a huge wedge cleaved him in half. The spike retracted from Anna's shoulder in an instant due to fright, but the huge Hollow was clueless towards it, and was instead searching for the hidden Shinigami.

This hollow was stronger than any hollow Anna has met so far, and she woke up quickly. She moved too fast and a sudden pain shot through her shoulder; there was a scream from her that attracted the Hollows attention. It looked at her with its big arms resembling cleavers, and it had many spikes flowing down its back as though it were a dinosaur. The mask had four holes for eyes, and no mouth.

"Stupid Hollow." she said, and searched to see if Shibata waited to attack or not, or if he was over-taken by any other hollow.

PostSubject: Re: Bandits and Hollow, Nothing else to Follow(ShibataTim)   Fri Oct 26, 2012 1:18 am

In the same moment that Anna had screamed out that the Hollows were already upon them, she was struck from behind by a massive Gorilla shaped Hollow. It was pitiful really, he should of jumped in the way or should of done something to stop the attack, but it all just happened so fast. The momentum and power launched Anna into a nearby tree with a solid thud. Tim had sensed that they were not alone, but not of where these lost souls were or how many there was. It seemed there was numerous ones as one approached Tim from behind. A sharp pain struck at his back as the snake-like Hollow lashed at his back. Which in turn, turned Tim around and in that same moment he withdrew his Asauchi from it's sheathe.

In the momentum from the turning about, not only had he withdrew his Asauchi, but had also lunged towards the snake-like Hollow. Kicking his feet hard against the beaten dirt on the ground, he was launched into the air. His blade, asauchi, was pointed directly towards the snake-like Hollow to stab at it. Tim thrust-ed the weapon hard against the Hollows mask. This was not his first encounter with a Hollow, but this was what he believed to be the best method of attack; target the evil-souls masks. He believed that if the mask broke, the Hollow would vanish and cease to exist. His blade dug deep into the Hollows mask, but yet it did not break; only cracked. In his last encounter with a Hollow, touching one was a very bad idea. It had, in fact, singed his very skin to even touch them. So he used his feet, which were padded with sandals, to kick off of the hollow from what he would imagine was it's waistline.

He skidded back against the cold hard dirt as he landed against the ground. Lifting his blade up in a defensive matter, he heard Anna's voice once more. Claiming that one of the Hollows was idiotic, but he could not turn to look in fear that the Hollow would use that time to strike. Instead he spoke strong and stern to Anna, almost ordering her, but he meant no disrespect to her. "To my side Anna! We have to stand united or else these wretched beings will gain the upper-hand on us!" He was completely unaware that there was another Hollow that had breached the trees and destroyed the Ape-like Hollow that had attacked Anna. There was no way he could see that where he was now and all of his concentration was on the Hollow in front of him.

Anna stood quickly to her feet after seeing Shibata launched away from his opponent in an attempt to lessen any damage, and then she listened to what he had to say. When Anna saw the hollow he was fighting should thought of one thing: kido! She lifted her hand to her chest, and rushed to the spot in which Shibata was currently standing. The ground under her feet cracked as she skidded to a stop with her arm flinging towards the snake-like Hollow, although she was looking towards the bigger and stronger one. It was confused as to which Shinigami to attack, and it lifted its huge arm to attack. Anna was ready to switch targets before the unexpected happened: Eliso stabbed its spike like tongue into the Hollow from the tree. It tried to yell something, and Anna could only decipher it as something along the lines of "Ihoo-oohahergh!" This didn't change Anna's plan, but it did give her a smile of laughter.

"Bakudo #1: Sai!" she yelled, her voice indicating a slight amount of her laughter towards Eliso. Eliso let out yet another yell, and this time it sounded like, "Hwahoohafeega!" What this was, Anna could only guess, but she decided to just ignore it before her thoughts were clouded; there was still a smile on her face, and it seemed to be larger than before. The hollow that she sent her Kido towards was suddenly fighting his way out of his predicament of bound arms behind his back. Anna lifted her blade and sprung herself into action as she planned to defeat the bigger, stronger Hollow. This heavier blade should have more cutting power towards it, and so she ran at the hollow. Her head came up to its knee, and so she knew that it'd most likely have some kind of armor like skin. When her blade moves it took a lot of force to accelerate the blade, but afterwards there was no force to be put into the blade; the blade moves itself once put into motion. She still added the extra force due to understanding that Hollows can be quite resilient. The blade makes contact, and only cuts about an inch deep into the suddenly rock like skin. Spikes of earth explode outwards; Anna was nearly hit by this spontaneous attack, but she was able to pull her blade from the monsters skin and fall backwards in order to dodge the attack. She didn't dare fall to the ground in battle, and stabbed her blade into the rock.

"Well, Shibata. It seems that our hands are full." Anna said after regaining balance. She stood up straight and pulled her blade out of the ground. Her red hair wasn't hiding her face anymore which indicates that she was ready to fight seriously now. Instead of fighting she'll normally call it a dance with the devil. This was one of her favorite songs when she was a human, and when she visited the world of the living again. After hearing it play, it was what she decided best fits fighting the Hollow in which are deemed evil. The huge Hollow was shaking its arm vigorously, and after unsuccessfully dislodging the attack from its arm it swung at the tree in which Eliso was hidden. Eliso was peeking through the branches, and when he saw the attack coming for him he was only seconds too late. He, also, was sliced in half with ease.

Anna had followed his instructions well, not to a tee, but he did not expect that either. His aim was to reunite the two in order to have a better footing against what seemed to him, a very hard fight that had just broken out. Perhaps these Hollows were a bit to much for the two young Shinigami, but that would not make them falter. If not for the fighting among the Hollows themselves, if they had attacked united, then perhaps the two would of been dead by now, but that was not the case. His friend had taken to the offensive once they were reunited and used Kido against the much larger Hollow. Who Tim had yet to still notice; he never once took his eyes off of the Hollow in front of him.

The snake-like Hollow before him attacked in a way that Tim predicted, misdirection. It used its snake-like appendixes to loop around and aim to attack him from the sides or perhaps behind, but that would not happen. As the Hollow came forward and begin its attack Tim moved forward, Asauchi still drawn. Slashing down with a powerful thrust, he aimed to severe one of the appendixes and it indeed did just that. The Hollow screamed out in a foreign tongue unknown to him. "Grrahashamen" Tim payed no head to the monsters screams and lunged forward once more. Digging his heels into the ground to boost his momentum, lunging forward he slashed at the Hollows mask with a downward diagonal slash. A powerful strike it must of been or perhaps it was just the timing; the Hollow was after all coming forward to attack and he himself was moving into the attack. The mask was cut in half as he hit the same spot where he had cracked it before. The Hollow shrieked out again as it vanished.

Now was the time to turn and aid Anna, his friend. Just as he did so he noticed the massive dinosaur like Hollow which Anna was attacking. It released some form of spiked defenses which forced her to withdraw. He mustered up all that he could to rush towards her position to aid her.

Anna turned to help Shibata, but noticed that he was holding himself well against the fast hollow. She spun around just in time to be hit in the stomach by the huge hollows foot, but she didn't let it disorient her. Instead, she stabbed her blade into the side of the hollows leg; her smile not fading one bit. She lifted her hand and started to build energy for another Kido. This time she was going to need Shibata to distract the mass so that she could start her incantation and concentrate on it. She opened her mouth to yell to Shibata that she needed him to take over, but before she could speak a thin spike extended from out of the leg of the Hollow and pierced her right shoulder completely. She widened her eyes but didn't make a noise. The blood that flowed from the wound felt like fire, but the wound itself was beyond that as it had dirt and rock embedded into it. As she pulled out her sword another spike extended out of the leg and stabbed into her stomach. Her left lung was just missed by a couple of centimeters luckily, and no major organs were harmed. She was able to push herself off but still was losing a heavy amount of blood. This annoyed her, and she knew that she had to quickly get rid of that earthen armor the hollow has for skin. All she could think of was acid, but she wanted to try out one of her higher level spells.

"May the black sounds of those that have felt death emit and destroy." she said and a fire red glow appeared around her hand. She quickly jumped to her left as the massive hollow swung down its arm. She looked at it, and it seemed to be unarmored. This was a weakness that she'd be able to use before she finished her spell! She stabbed her sword into the Hollows arm, and held on tightly as it lifted into the air. Spikes jet from the leg of the hollow again, and if Shibata was paying attention he could easily find a way to use this in order to get closer to the Hollows mask. If what she was about to do didn't work she would rely on Shibata to quickly finish off the Hollow. The hollows arm stopped high in the air, and Anna's momentum didn't stop. She flipped up and was just about to be hit by a slingshot effect due to holding onto her sword: she pulled it out the arm. Upon releasing the blade she managed to regain balance in the air and fall straight towards the Hollows mask. She looked at it, and saw that there was also an earth like armor covering it. As she fell, she stabbed her blade down and into the rocky armor surrounding the head.

"Get ready, Shibata!" she yelled as the sword just barely cracks the mask. She lifted her hand as she got ready to release the energy that she built up for her spell. Her vision was going blurry from loss of blood, and she was faltering on her spell. She held her hand up to earthen armor.

"Hado #7: Kuroi kaminari." she said to herself, and she released the spell. A wave of energy formed in her hands, and she gripped her blade tightly. It hit the earthen armor before taking it apart enough to show a layer of the Hollows mask. The mask was cracked a good bit, and seemed that if it were to be stabbed directly through the middle it destroy the thing. She smiled, but fell after her sword had come loose from the mask. The hollow swung sideways, and the flat part of its arm hit her with force. There were several cracks as a multitude of her bones broke, and she was flung into the upper branches of a tree.

"This hurts..." she whispers, unable to scream and hardly able to even speak after being hit so hard. Anna knew that she had to get up, but her right arm was shattered and her left leg was snapped at the knee. Tears streamed down her face as she passed out from both intense pain and loss of blood.

(You just have to love how much Anna gets hurt...)

PostSubject: Re: Bandits and Hollow, Nothing else to Follow(ShibataTim)   Sat Oct 27, 2012 1:14 am

Right before his very eyes, his friend someone who he had come to care for very much in a short matter of time had been thrown around like a rag doll. These evil spirits, Hollows, truly did not care of any beings and especially Shinigami. Luckily, Anna was able to use a Kido spell and break the dinosaur-like Hollow's thick rock armor surrounding the mask and crack it a bit. Afterwords she was struck heavily and launched a few good meters to the side. He could hear her bones crack as he rushed towards the massive Hollow to attempt to save her, but the damage had already been done.

"You will now witness the sheer skill and determination that I have to conquer you. You will be shown no mercy Hollow and I shall avenge my friend and utmost save her from you." Tim said confidently as he closed in on the dinosaur-like Hollow. "Anna, my friend, your efforts shall not be in vain and I will save you..." He said out of the corner of his mouth, just loud enough for her to hear.

He scanned the massive dinosaur-like Hollow before assaulting it. Tim had already examined the thick rock-like armor that it possessed, which had the capability to release spikes to thwart any oncoming attacks, but that would not deter him. Thanks to Anna's efforts, the Hollows armor had already been breached over the mask and now a cracked mask was visible. Gripping his Asauchi tight, he searched within his own soul for the power and skill to overcome this daunting foe. He became overcome with a strange power, but yet somehow familiar.

The dinosaur-like hollow used his massive bladed arms to attack downwards towards the oncoming Shinigami, but Tim simply dodged to the left and right with incredible speed. His eyes looking for an opening and a way to scale the beast; he found just what he was looking for, the arms. The armor was thin here, it almost seemed as if it just did not exist there. His feet dug into the dirt just before the hollow came down with another strong attack. Tim launched into the air and landed on the beings arms or what he believed to be its arms. Dashing upwards scaling the being, he aimed to strike at the hollows mask. The only weakness known to him.

The hollow flailed to attempt to get him off of him, but it only served to create a bigger opening for Tim. His sandals began to burn, but he was far to into the situation to notice. He kicked off of the arm of the being and reversed his blade so that it pointed downward. So the hilt was upwards and the blade was angled to come downward and stab the hollow; it did just that. The Asauchi dug deep into the already cracked mask and as it did the being screeched out in a foreign tongue. The hollow now fell onto its back with Tim standing on top of it.

At that moment his blade made a peculiar sound, almost a popping sound. It cracked at the tip and as he pulled it from the mask it chipped at the top where it curved and thus broke. The blade still usable, but could no longer be used as a slashing weapon, effectively. The hollow vanished under his feet and he fell to the ground on his own two feet. Exhausted, he found it hard to catch his breathe. Each step taken to Anna seemed as if she got farther and farther. He had not sustained any real injuries, only minor, but the sheer force and precise timing it took to effectively take out the being drained all the energy from him.

When he finally reached his comrade laying in the dirt, he sighed a bit. "If only I was faster and stronger, I would of been able to prevent this Anna." Kneeling down next to her, he scooped her up in his arms and began carrying her. She was in no shape to walk on her own and if she was persistent about the matter, he would simply ignore her. "We'll get you looked after Anna, just hang in!!" The trip back to the Gotei 13 would be a lot farther than it would of ever been, with Anna having severe injuries and he himself extremely exhausted. Just as he did against the immense power of the Hollow; he would not falter.

(!Thread Ending Post!)

Anna hadn't awoken, and her breathing was heavy. She had many injuries that would need treating, and her open wounds were infected by immense bacteria and clogged with dirt and rubble. As Anna was unable to awake she had dreams of the girl she had met in her first visit to the slums of Rukongai; the black haired child that stole her Asauchi. The girl was still holding her Asauchi and whispering into the ear of Anna. She called herself Sinthia Hate when they first met, but this time it echoed through the air around Anna. It was growing in how loud it was, and she had to cover her ears with hands that were filled with blood. This didn't help block out the sound, and instead it seemed to increase in pitch. It kept getting louder, and Anna kept on scratching at her ears. Blood was covering her face and she was screaming for it to stop as the echo became impossible to decipher. Everything disappeared, and Anna saw her reflection with a face of shock and surprise.

She wasn't Anna at all!

She woke up being carried by Shibata, and was glad to feel her hand still holding her sword. Not too long after she fell back to sleep.

(I took out a lot, because I'm saving it for a huge story-line post of hers.)
