Kaiyo nudged open the metal door with a surprising ease; her eyes adjusting to the lighting of the room as she stepped in. Hit immediately by a very strong smell of sake, and other stale alcohols. The pungent aroma was almost over-powering as the short girl made a mental note to breath through her mouth. Still, the pub was a lot better than some of the establishments open around Rukongai. Within the confines of Sereitei, this particular pub was the local hangout for serving members of the Gotei 13. Annoyingly, this meant that a distilled silence cracked through the previously buzzing conversations when Kaiyo stepped in. The Captain smiled meagrely, responding to the room of blinking eyes, 'heh, don't mind me' she smiled, adding a fairly awkward wave to her words, as she tried to hide the wave by scratching the back of her head.

The girl sighed lightly to herself, turning away from the crowd as she slid up onto the nearest bar stool. Dropping her head as her blonde hair swept down to cover her face. Kaiyo groaned slightly. Praying that just once, she could go somewhere nice and not be gawked at by shinigami. 'You alright then Ms Captain?' The smooth voice of the bartender was comforting. Kaiyo lifted her head, blushing ever so slightly as she brushed her hair back into place, 'Heh yeah can i get a drink please' The rugged looking man opened his mouth for specifics, but was cut off by the Captain; responding to his question before he even asked it. 'Surprise me' she added in a casual tone. The man nodded, and began fixing Kaiyo her drink.

Kaiyo's Zanpakutou was tapping against her wooden chair slightly, hanging from her hip as it always was. It's weight so accustomed to her hip that without it she help almost un-balanced at times. Kaiyo sat up straight, shuffling to get comfortable without sitting on her white haori too much. The scene was quite comical really, the tiny girl who looks even smaller on the stool, her feet swinging around the air.

The pungent scent of sake filled his nostrils as he tipped the small cup end up and sent the clear elixir spilling down his throat. “Baaaaaaaakaaa” his obviously intoxicated voice dribbled “Those squad 11 brutes couldn’t hold a candle to the discipline of squad 6, In fact!! We should go over there and tell them right now!” Staggering to his feet and slamming a fist on the table indicating an unflinching resolve. Unfortunately it was at that moment that the stagnant alcohol sitting in his belly decided to slosh about uncomfortably causing a wave of nausea to wash over his body.

He dashed toilet bound, ready to empty the contents of his lunch into the porcelain basin and hopefully get some reprieve from the sickening sensation. When he could heave no more it was over to the basin where a quick splash of water to the face and a quick swirl around the mouth had him ready to continue his night off with vigor. He bowled back into the bar floor mere moments away from the announcement that the next round was on him, but as he rose an arm to slur out the proclamation it struck him that the entire place had gone suddenly really rather quiet. His blurred gaze did not take long to come to rest on the cause of the wave of silence. A single white haori with the character for 11 was enough to tell the man just who had caused this tension.

Well this wouldn’t do, no this wouldn’t do at all. The entire atmosphere was ruined, plus he was having a hard time finding that guy he’d been drinking with, had it been a guy? He didn’t remember any boobs but it was pretty hard to tell at this point. There was only one way to handle this! He had to go for a drink with the captain, once they saw they were just another person like everyone else here everyone was sure to lighten up!! Or at least that was the alcohol fueled logic he was planning to put his faith in. “Can I buy you a drink?” He enquired unsure what the proper protocol was when sitting down at a bar with a captian, but even as the question left his lips he felt like there was one major factor he was forgetting, something about this woman that he just hadn’t recalled, there was an undeniable air of nostalgia about her that he just couldn’t put his finger one!

Kaiyo could smell Jin long before he spoke to her, that putrid stench of vomit and stale booze made her want to leave there and then; but she soon became used to it- trying to breath through her mouth a bit more though. The girl lifted her head from the table, her blonde hair covering her eyes as she swept it gently back into place, a light smile playing on her lips as she looked Jin up and down. There was a face she hadn't seen in far too long. 'Heh, sure' she responded, gesturing for the man to sit next to her.

Kaiyo couldn't help but glancing over her shoulder, her blue eyes shimmering above her white haori as her look diverted the eyes from herself. A sudden interest in feet seemed to spark more conversations around the rustic pub, despite how they now seemed to be more whispered gossip. Oh well, it was close enough. Of course the girl herself had been far too oblivious to hear what Jin had been saying anyway, and her memory of the man was already so faded. In such a job as hers, people tended to come and go a lot and unfortunately some of her oldest friends had begun to fade from her memory.

Still, the girl knew the man next to her, and whilst she may not have remembered everything about him, she couldn't wait to catch up with her 6th squad buddy. 'Jin, right?' she smirked slightly, as if she had just magically plucked the man's name from thin air; at least to see just how drunk he really was.
