((This Thread Continues on from A Call to Arms))

United Nations Office, Geneva.

The UN Office at Geneva or UNOG as it was more commonly known was built in the 1930's, it is the second largest of the four main United Nations offices, the largest being in New york. It is well defended, the security is air tight, and it walls can withstand a sustained missile assault. In short, it wasn't the ideal place to kidnap five very powerful world leader.

It is, however, amazing what you can do with a computer and a top class hacker. Change a name here, add another there, and soon you have a man, or men, on the inside.

Captain Ryan, or John Smith as he was currently known, stood at the main security check point in the main hall of UNOG. Beside him were two metal detectors, one on the right for entry, the one on the left to exit. The delegates were just coming in and he looked the part in his black suit, white shirt and tie.

He waved the metal detection wand over each man or woman, the most he found was a set of keys and some loose change. They were clean, no one was allowed weapons past this check point. The only weapons cache was in the main security room on the second floor and if trouble went down only the Head of Security could authorize their use.

Ryan ran his wand across a middle aged man and the watch on his wrist gave a flash. Its LCD screen flashed twice and he kept the public service smile on his face.

"Have a nice day sir." So they had more than just Human security to deal with. They had expected as much, they just didn't account for half the security team and the majority of the delegates to be infected.

The main meeting was taking place in three hours. The world leaders had already arrived and were preparing themselves in their personal suites within the building.

They had one chance at this. Ryan would run distraction, divert as much security away from the meeting as possible while the rest of his time stormed the conference room and made the grab. It was risky, they were working light this time round. Walking around in a T.E.S suit wasn't exactly covert.

Sixty Feet Below UNOG

The laser blasted against the rock in front of it, the mining drill moving forward at a snails pace as the stone melted away and was cooled by the continuous jet of liquid nitrogen. The four men inside were feeling the heat, even with the liquid nitrogen cooling the air the heat from the laser was unbearable.

"Six more feet. Send the signal!" One of them yelled over the high pitched whine of the machinery.

The soldier next to him tapped a series of buttons on the small touchscreen on his wrist. There was a confirmation and then they turned back to their instruments.

UNOG Building

The signal came through just as Ryan was going on 'lunch', he made his way in the general direction of the Cafeteria and quickly hung a right, then a left and climbed the stairs to the second floor. The Security office was up ahead, its walls made of bullet proof perspex, inside a bank of monitors and computers filled the room that controlled the entire buildings nasty surprises.

Ryan approached and thumbed the finger print scanner. He technically didn't have any finger prints to scan but that didn't stop the reader confirming that he was, indeed, John Smith.

Inside were three men, one of which was a a pure wall of muscle, Head of Security Hector Simmons. Simmons turned and viewed the new comer.

"What do you want Smith." It wasn't a question, more of an accusation.

"I'm just heading to lunch," Ryan began moving forward as casual as you like until he was within a few feet of the three men, sat at consoles. "I was just wondering if you guys wanted anything?"

"What the fuck do you think we're doing up here Smith. I know you're new but you cant be that retarded. We have the president of the United States sipping coffee in a conference room with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Do we look like we have the luxury to eat! Do you think the terrorists will just wait until we finished our tuna sand-" The table lamp cracked him straight across the jaw and he went down like an oak tree.

Ryan reacted before anyone else could, his fist flew out and smacked one security officer off his seat and he lashed out with a kick at the other sending his office chair rolling backwards before it tipped and spilled him onto the floor.

The Captains boot caught the nearest fallen man in the face knocking him out cold but the other swept his legs from him and he went down hard. The wind left his body forcefully and his assailant was on top of him, raining down punches.

Ryan kept his arms up at either side of his face to deter serious injury and then he saw his opening, one arm reached up and cupped the back of the mans head and using the tension of his foes body pulled himself up and headbutted him before shoving him off with his free hand. Another kick to the head took care of him.

He turned to the console behind him. It was an array of screens and keypads, buttons of various colors but if his specs were right. This should be the right one. He flipped open a plastic casing and thumbed the small white button and immediately the buildings lights flickered off and were replaced by red flashing ones, an alarm blaring throughout the complex.

Main Conference Room

The meeting had just gotten underway, the five men each took their seats and looked around at each other. None of them knew that the other worked for the Twelve, they were all smug in their assumption that they were on the winning side. Little did they suspect that they were puppets on a string. Lambs for the slaughter...

The alarms began in earnest, the room subdued in red emergency lighting. There was confusion at first, then a mild panic, the politicians unsure what was going on.

"Gentlemen! Please remain calm! The room is impenetrable, you will be safe here until our security team investigates and if need be, deals with the threat." Came the voice of the Chief of Staff, the mediator in this gathering.

Underground Team

"We're set!" One soldier called to the rest, placing the man sized pod on the yellow marker on the ground. "Board pods, prepare to breach!"

The four soldiers stepped inside the pods and a perspex door slid shut before, from the bullet like tip atop each pod, a blast of concentrated spirit energy fired directly upwards followed by three steel cables with what looked like large spear tips attached.

The President felt the tremor first, his coffee cup skittering across the oak table in front of them and falling to the floor. Was there a war going on out there!? His question was answered when at four points around the room blinding flashes of blue energy shot up from the floor followed by wired spears punching into the ceiling and then Four strange capsules rose up rapidly into the room.

The team moved with practiced ease, their Energy Pistols were out and at the ready and they fired a stunning bolt into everyone in the room. Things were going much smoother than anticipated.

"Captain, we have the packages, beginning extraction." A soldier said into his COM.

Security Room

Ryan had the weapons locker open and was slapping a clip into the assault rifle when he felt the ground shuddering under him. His heart skipped a beat, he knew those rhythmic foot steps.

He risked a glance over the console at the door, which he had managed to lock tight, and saw the outer wall beyond vanish in a spray of broken masonry. There, in the opening, was a blazing red photoreceptor, in a humanoid shaped metal head set atop broad shoulders.

Standing more than 10ft high the Mobile All Terrain Tank was a terrifying weapon. He knew the Twelve had some, he just wasn't aware they had one in the area. He thought of his chances, they were below 10%.

Ryan moved to the locker, inside were more guns and...yes, exactly what he needed, shaped charges, made to blow doors...but..

He worked quickly, removing the detonator from them and then holding the two charges together punched a single detonator through both, he did this quickly and efficiently, tallying Four double charges.

He shifted to the wall beside the locker, and began to place the charges, that's when the bullet proof glass exploded inwards and he took a fragment to the shoulder.

Ryan stifled his screams and shuffled rapidly away from the explosives, thumbing the detonator he covered his head as a rough circle was blown from the wall. He threw himself through just in time as the room was suddenly engulfed in energy fire from the M.A.T.T and the troops who had shown up with it.

He landed in a hallway and ran, clutching his shoulder. If he could get outside he would be able to...his thought process stopped there. The last thing he saw was the scaly green fist and then darkness took him.

Underground

"No response from the Captain!" A soldier called as the former mining vehicle, turned escape craft, sped through the disused tunnel toward its outlet at the ocean.

"He knew the risks...." Another said and looked back at their five captives, it took all his strength not to kill the traitors here and now.

Submarine Cruiser 'Damocles'

"Commander, priority signal from Bravo." The Coms officer listened intently into her head set and her face fell when the message was done.

"Well?" Decker asked, either obvious distress in his subordinate or uncaring.

"Cargo secure. They are requesting pick up. Bravo Leader fell behind. End of message." She said.

Decker's face didn't show any emotion, or at least none that his bridge crew could perceive. He waited for a few heart beats and then his gravelly voice gave one order. "Arrange pick up."

Somewhere in Europe

"Who are you?" Ryan couldn't see the speaker, his eye lids were taped open and a high watt bulb as being shone directly into them.

He remained silent, he had been trained in the event of capture and interrogation. He didn't see the fist but it hit him on the left side of his face and snapped his head to the side.

"Which government do you work for?" Again all his interrogator got was silence. This time all he saw was a flash of steel and then his body went into convulsions as a strong electric current coursed through it. He tried not to scream but a man can only take so much and after a twenty seconds he called out in pain.

"It doesn't have to be this way, tell us what we need to know and the pain will stop." This was another voice, calmer and almost friendly in a good cop, bad cop sort of way. He wasn't falling for it, not when he still had a good twenty or so hours before he reached breaking point.

He just hoped that Decker stuck to protocol before that came to pass, until then all he had to do was take the beatings and keep his mouth shut.
