Following bad luck *Darkness*

Kaiyo had been told many times that black cats were bad luck but when the cutest black cat in the world just strolled past her window, well it seemed like the logical thing to follow it. It was late evening in Soul Society. The deep blue sky was littered with numbingly cold lights. Inside Sereitei, the night shift shinigami were just starting their patrol, the ghost shift people always had the weirdest stories to tell. Though usually Captains gave them out as punishment to un-ruly squad members.

Kaiyo herself had been trying to sleep. A vague and useless attempt at rest. The girl had sleeping badly recently, she was yet to figure out why but the cat had been a pleasant distraction none the less. The idea of following a black cat in the dark was yet to be realised as a silly one. Thoguh the bad luck was prominent. The Captain's shoes had already broken since her chase; leaving her to wander in just her socks. That and of course Kaiyo had forgotten her Zanpakuto and Captains Haori. So to anyone none the wiser, she was just a poorly dressed shinigami breaking the rules. Kaiyo's top was open, revealing a black tank top she wore beneath. Though she wasn't too cold, the late night chill was yet to set in.

Kaiyo froze in her step. She'd lost sight of the cat for just a moment. Waiting, in complete silence she heard a small meow. On the slanted rooftop of one of the buildings nearby. Kaiyo hopping up onto the roof, slowly edging towards the cat that had since decided to lay down for a minute.

Kuroi was wandering, he was on guard duty tonight, but he was kind of wandering around serietei. If anyone were to find him like this, he would probably say, "The normal patrol is predictable, the only way to catch the bad guys is to be unpredictable."

Whether or not he belived it is another matter, but he did however see someone jump up on a roof. Very stealthy, almost as if they didn't want to get caught...

Kuroi had to react, but instead of raising the alarm like he was told to, He attacked.

Kuroi shunpo'ed the distance between him and the roof, silent other than the sound of shunpo. Kuroi then swept at the intruder's legs, moving his hand forward to push her in the back, as kuroi hoped to trip her, and if he did he would start restraining her.

Kaiyo leant forwards, moving her right arm outwards to try and stroke the cat when it happened. The girl had been utterly clueless that anyone was even remotely near her, let alone that they would try and attack her. Still, her reactions were at least good enough for her to not facepalm the ground. Kaiyo's eyes dilated with a mild panic the moment her legs gave way beneath her. Moving with her fall, the girl lunged her body forwards, springing off her left hand as she twisted around. Silently landing right next to the cat. Torn as to whether or not it would be appropriate to try and hug the cute cat yet, the Captain decided to hold it off for a second.

'What the hell was that for?' she snapped, more annoyed she was so close to landing on the cat. That would have been unfortunate. It was still too dark though, so Kaiyo couldn't even see who the attacker was. Damnit he was fast though, and sneaky.
