vizard

right, i know we haven't talked about this in a while, but ya know, given my new mod status and the respect and authority that comes with it i thought that i'd propose a plan- if i came up with a system that was fair and also adhered to the storyline, could we finalize it?

I'm 100% supporting Ryouta on this, for...Story driven reasons <.< >.>....(I have many ideas on how the Vizards would work...)...

anyway, here is what i've been thinking so far. both Shinigami of Captain and Lieutenant class have been successfully changed to vizards, so i think that characters who are of either caliber should be able to become vizards. now, i think it should actually be harder to gain vizard powers than to master bankai for example, so i think a certain rather high number of posts should be required, and the story better be original and awesome, or there will be no admin approval.

as for vizard abilities- the masks obviously increase spirit power, strength, speed; but also seem to increase the power of individual abilities the Shinigami have, such as Hachi's kido, or any of the Shikai releases that have been seen, so i think that the vizard mask should add +6 to spirit power, fighting skill, and speed- possibly more to another attribute if it is relatable to a particular character's skill.

now, since we've only seen ichigo's transformation to a vizard, we only know about the personal tribulations he had to go through, but i think it's safe to assume that the Shinigami who tries to become a vizard has to fight an evil version of themself, or something like that. said evil version should be like a twisted version of the main character's personality.

actually, for Ryouta, i was planning on having him have *two* evil personalities to fight, to mirror his teenage behavior, and the soul-searching "who am i" that goes along with this kinda thing.

This is my entry/suggestions for the template.

1). Vizard gain access to certain Hollow abilities, such as the Cero blast.

2). Body damage can seemingly be ignored while wearing their masks, as demonstrated by Ichigo's Hollow during his unwilling transformations.

3). Hollow either absorb spiritual power (Reiryoku) from their surroundings or ingest it from spiritual beings, while Shinigami produce their own natural spiritual power, where some are wasted or leaked out. By combining these two properties, Vizard can reabsorb the spiritual power that they themselves give off, making their techniques much more efficiently. They can also take it in from other sources, further boosting their power.

4). Vizard apparently hold varying degrees of telekinesis; For example, Ichigo, in his new Hollowfied form, has employed this ability to call forth his Zanpakutō with a mere flick of the wrist.

1). A vizard forum will be created in the creation category.
2). Inside the vizard forum will be two other categories, one category made for posting a story about how you got your vizard powers. And one about training on how long you can have your mask on.
3). A vizard must create a story of how he/she got their vizard powers, the story must at least contain 1000 words.
4). Each training post must contain at least 600 words.
5). Training and Story posts will be judged by the admins, and it won't be pretty.

i disagree...people of lieutenant status were able to reach vizard capabilities

Basicly lieutenant/vice captain and captains can become vizards, but I think it should be a bit harder for lieutenant...

so, how would characters become vizards anyway? the hogyoku no longer exists...the only other way i can think of is that the character must be brought to a point near death, as ichigo was. they must start to become a Hollow, fight it as ichigo did, and overcome it. after that comes a period of time where the mask/evil personality(ies) comes out when the character is under stress, or uses powerful attacks (like bankai).

also, this raises the question- how will soul society react to the rise of vizards? will they cast them aside as done before? or will the vizards become a valued part of the gotei 13?

I'd feel the attitude of soul society has changed some in the 300 years that have past. However I'd strongly caution against allowing to many Vizards to appear. Afterall what are the odds of people coming that close to death (repeat what Ryouta said)?

I believe that with the time passing, and the fact that vizards helped out in the war against Aizen, the gotei would allow any emerging vizards to live, but their tight ass rules would never allow vizards to remain in their ranks. Just a thought though.

yeah, as sal said, it'll be difficult for people to reach that near death stage. after all, most of the people on this site are shinigami, and as such, have no reason to deal death blows to each other. (sekkou could though. for a price *hint hint* lol jk) so that is a snag this plan is hit by.

maybe this will inspire people to be Hollows!!! srsly, in all honesty, i kinda like rp'ing sekkou better than ryouta. more fun, more variability in behavior

With the civil war though, I think we'll find that that snag withers away for a certain amount of time. I have ideas I could use if Kuro were to become a vizard, but I think I'm going to lean away from that scenario this time. A shinigami doesn't need hollow powers to be powerful.

Vizards would *Probally* be exiled from the soul societey. And maybe a cap of 5, maybe 10 vizards at the max.

I'd say 5 and i don't think they would be exiled. With the history and recent events they would be considered trump cards i'd say. Unleashed when the shit hath gone bad.
