Personality:
Free spirited and easy going. Happy go lucky with a drunk side you do not want to awaken... Kurama is kind-hearted and a bit of a romantic, although he isn't always trying to be. His natural charm isn't recognized by many since he mainly interacts with other guys rather than having much of a chance to flirt with the local ladies.

Appearance:
White haired with a blue tint. Most of the time seen wearing his black soul reaper robes or, if in a formal setting, a set of white silk robes with a oceanic pattern on it.

Sealed Zanpakutō :
The sealed blade is a regular katana, with a blade length of about 80 cm. The katana is characterized by its curved, slender, single edged blade, squared guard, and long grip to accommodate two hands. The color of the blade has a faint blue shimmer to it and is rather cool to the touch.

Passive Reiatsu Ability: Kurama has the ability to lower the temperature around him with or without realizing it. Lower ranking people feel shivers down their spine, it is involuntary. This ability in no way affects his powers or will has negative effects on others. It is merely an interesting addition to his personality or what call you it...

History/Background:
Kurama grew up in the Junrinan district, part of West Rukongai. He'd always love to watch as some of the soul reaper's came out of the Seireitei to entertain the children there. It wasn't an everyday thing though, most soul reapers were too busy to ever even step outside the great walls. Kurama had grown rather attached to a young soul reaper that had been entered into the ranks of the 10th Court Guard Squad. The man had told him stories of what it was like going out on missions and fighting hollows. Kurama had loved such stories and often wished he'd one day get a chance to become a Soul Reaper. That day eventually came; Kurama started taking classes at the "Shinigami Academy".

Kurama had an average understanding of Kidō and swordplay. The most talented skill he had though, was his quick reflexes. He was fast, really fast. Other more skilled sword fighters in the academy were even at a loss simply because of their slower reflexes. Many teachers said that if Kurama would practice making his attacks inflict more damage and put more effort in learning kidō, he'd make a great Vice Captain some day. Kurama eventually completed his training and applied to Squad 10, after his old friend, who had been killed in action only a few short years prior to Kurama's graduation. Kurama was accepted with a moderately high seat. He was surprised for he'd always expected to begin at the bottom for he had always been taught that no one started at the top, unless you were nobility.

Kurama's training was difficult most of the time as drilling usually was on the new recruits. Though he took on any tasks he could find, always up for a new challenge. Though aside from his drilling exercises, normal tasks weren't all that challenging. Unless you found guarding an empty corridor a challenge, there usually wasn't all that much to do. Recently however, Kurama started having strange dreams. He didn't understand what the hell they all meant, they were short and usually had to do with him being trapped within a cell made out of ice shards. It was all very strange...

Shikai Achieved

Call out phrase: Bow before the Frozen Sage!, Kurounin Aisu!

Description of released form: Kurounin Aisu transforms from its standard katana form to a nodachi or, what some refer to it as, a large nihontō. The blade shimmers a light blue and is cold to the touch. One would normally find holding such a freezing cold blade to be painful after about a minute or so but the icy tinge is not felt by the owner. The symbols "すべては氷である" are engraved on either side of the blade.

Abilities:

Ability 1: Aisu Shaddo (Rank 3 Required)

Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Ice Barrage" technique. The blade essentially shatters into three dozen long, thin shards of ice that can be controlled by his owner. There are basically two ways to use this technique, the first being obvious. A barrage of ice shards strike at the foe, easily destroyable though can be reformed for another attack depending on the amount of spiritual energy the wielder has remaining. The second is a simple wall of ice, able to block low-leveled kidos and small energy attacks. It increases in power as the user grows in skill with the technique.

Ability 2: Touketsu Reiki (Rank 4 Required)

Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Frozen Aura" technique. The area around Kurama begins to decrease severely in temperature. In a moist environment, it will begin to snow. As time passes, the snow will increase in downfall speed and thickness. Kurama can control the snow merely by thinking about it, not requiring verbal or somatic guidance. As long as there is moisture in the air, Kurama's spiritual energy slowly regenerates, allowing for his shikai to fuel itself. This will also increase the number of ice shards that appear as time passes.

Ability 3: Hyousetsu Katachi (Rank 5 required)

Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Snow Shape" technique. Kurama will be able to transform into a mass of snow flurries that amounts to the same volume as his body. He can move freely around in the air without others being able to discern him from any other flake of snow. The snow does not take the actual shape of a human and can be spread over an area up to 30 meters wide. They can float freely in the air rather than be affected by gravity but in a windstorm or blizzard it would be virtually impossible to see this. Kurama may return to his human form at any time and repeat this technique so long as there is enough snow in the area to equal his initial volume. If all the snow flurries are melted, they will be replaced by surrounding reishi as long as the temperature remains cold. There is no way to kill Kurama in this state but very possible to keep him trapped in a kind of limbo if he has no way to refreeze the snow flurries that make up his body.

Bankai Achieved

Call out phrase for Bankai: "A master's wisdom is shown through his students. Gaze upon me and understand what it means to be enlightened. Bankai."

Description of the Bankai release: The nodachi begins to glow brightly and is encased in blue ice. The light fades away and the ice begins to split, breaking into two pieces. As the second piece falls, the two pieces begin to glow once more. The second piece grows a hilt and the two blades shimmer an icy blue color revealing the final result, two elegant, yet deadly, serrated wakizashi. Though they are a pair, one measures about 18 inches long in blade length, while the other only measures about 14 inches long. The shorter is held in the off hand, more so as a defensive tool than as a weapon. Engraved on the longer of the two blades is the symbol "氷", on the shorter "雪".

Though it has no purpose in a battle scenario, his robes will also change in appearance. His normal black robes transform into a completely different outfit. He wears set of white silk robes over the left side of his body, the right side is tied to his waist by a faded gray sash. There is a oceanic blue border that comes up the bottom of his robes, as well as the sleeves, about 10". underneath is an entirely black top and bottom with a big "V" collar, the collar and sleeves have a red trim. He is also wearing a long leather belt with two small, blue sheaths attached to it. The outfit is completed by a large pair of black leather boots which come halfway up his calves.

Abilities:

Ability 1: Arainami Aisu (Rank 6 required)

Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Raging Ice Torrent" technique. Unlike most of his abilities, this one is solely an offensive technique. When released, a large torrent of water and ice blasts into enemies, covering them in a thick layer of blue ice. Depending on their level of ability, they may or may not be encased in it permanently. If they do manage to escape, they would have already taken moderate to severe cold damage. Once again this is a case by case result, depending on the rank of the opponent(s).

Ability 2: Reido (Rank 7 required)

Description of ability: This is Kurounin Aisu's "Absolute Zero" technique. This ability can stop the vibration of atoms within a fifty yard radius of Kurama. Nothing will be able to move, think, perceive anything. It is as if time is actually stopped and no memory of the events will remain for those frozen. Kurama is the sole entity that can move during the effects of this ability, he cannot pick and choose who gets frozen at this level of experience, maybe after a long few years of practice... Outside of this range however life goes on, entering the area will result in being caught in its effects. The ability can only last for roughly thirty seconds and once completed, will have depleted his powers to such a degree that he will not be able to manipulate spirit energy or even hear his zanpakuto for one full day. During this time he must be resting, whether in bed or taking a stroll in the sun. Any physical activity other than this will cause him to suffer intense pain. Just to reiterate, no kido, no zanpakuto powers, no shunpo, no anything. However he can still hear, see, and feel spirits and spiritual pressure. This is to be used as a last resort ability...



Rp sample: (For a different Bleach Roleplay [Character: Marlamin])
As Marlamin walked to the end of the street, he stopped to scan for more spirit energy. Only a few seconds of scanning, he snapped open his eyes and gasped, then quickly leaping forward, nearly dodging a swipe from an over sized claw. He tumbled a few feet and tried to re-establish his stance. The claw belonged to a giant hollow, standing way over two stories tall. This hollow was definitely different from the norm.

"Oh, shit. Not a Gillian", was just about all he could say before the thing took another swipe at him. Once again, he dodged out of its way, just barely escaping the deadly claws.

"Come forth, Rosutsu Souru!"

His shimmering scythe appeared before him, reflection the moonlight off of it's deadly curved blade. He leaped into the air, dodging yet another blow, and came down on the hollow's being with great precision. The slash had hurt it greatly but it was far from being defeated. What the Gillian lacked in intelligence and agility, its strength more than made up for it. The hollow howled at the pain as the spirit energy was sucked from his body. The behemoth ripped at its shoulder to remove the blade that had been lodged within. Marlamin was forced to spring away, leaving his weapon where it had been embed. The giant ripped the "flesh" away from its shoulder, leaving a chunk where the scythe once was.

"Damn it! It seems I'm going to have to deal with you without his help. Hadō #31, shakkahō!"

A ball of red energy was fired at the hollow. It landed in the center of its mask, leaving a cloud of smoke that obscured Marlamin's vision. The smoke started to lift to reveal the damage, but the blast only left a slight charring. The hollow lurched forward,

"Shō!"

At these words, the hollow was flung back about ten feet, enough to let him move further away without the risk of being attacked from behind. He only managed to get about another ten feet before he noticed a large shadow cast over him. The hollow had leaped into the air and now was about to land right on top of him...

Marlamin stood there, unable to move, knowing that he wouldn't be able to get himself far enough away in time. He could only flash step a couple times in the human realm, and he had already done so recently. He was completely and utterly defeated.

"Take me, oh merciful one" he spoke to the heavens.

He shut his eyes, ready for the inevitable. When he didn't feel the pain he was expecting, he had assumed that his death had indeed been quick and painless. He sighed with relief that he didn't have to suffer for any amount of time, being ripped away at by the behemoth's teeth. He felt a cool breeze pass by him, carrying the sound of an unnatural, evil screeching. He opened his eyes to see that he was still standing in the same spot he was in a few minutes ago. The hallow was not to be found. He looked around and noticed more charring on the ground. Then another scream echoed through the town. A few bright flashes of crimson lit up the area nearby. The hollow crashed through the trees, landing on its back, covered in blood. A figure leaped in the air over head, equipped with a brilliantly crafted bow of spiritual energy. The figure was feminine, having long brown hair and a pair of glasses resting on her nose. She fired another shinning arrow into the hallow, almost shattering its mask. As it began struggling to get to its feet, Marlamin ran up to the hollow and unleashed one of his strongest Kidōs...

"Hadō #54, haien!"

A giant blast of purple spiritual energy erupted over the Gillian, completely incinerating the hollow. The flames died down and Marlamin searched for the woman, but she was nowhere to be found.

"Where did that Quincy get off to?" he asked no one in particular. He pulled his blade, now returned to normal form, from the smoldering ashes. As he did so, the ashes flew off into the distance and disappeared from sight.
