Nikoda shunpo'd to the Squad 11 sparring grounds. As he stopped, he felt his stomach pull as if it expected to continue the strainful shunpo movement that had tortured it. Nikoda was having a hard time adjusting to shunpo, it was quite different than anything he had experienced before becoming a shinigami. It was his first time using shunpo without his legs already being injured as well. He had managed to stop by Squad 4 and be healed by a not happy but cooperative Squad 4 member who was on lunch.

Nikoda sat down on the ground, Tensugata resting at his side. He closed his eyes and begun meditation on what was to come. He had balls doing what he was about to do, he needed little reassurance personally but he was more worried about his master that stood a few feet away. The Master he had been worried about was a small chinese looking man with white hair, moustache, and a long pale beard. Master Pei Mei stroked his white beard in anticipation and said to Nikoda, "If you please me with your performance you can have dinner. If not, more laps for you, Dog."

Nikoda resisted punching the old man and just cleared his mind...cleared and focused it.

Kaiyo bounded her over to the training grounds. The girl deep a deep breath as she walked, smiling up at the sky happily, it was a mild day with no wind or sun and just enogh heat. The small blonde girl had agreed to have a spar with Nikoda, giggling slightly at the thought of meeting his master, he hadn't sounded like the nicest of people. Kaiyo knew most of the trainers from the academy herself, if not taught directly through other teachers. The girl shurgged to herself, she'd meet him soon enough.

Kaiyo rounded the corner and saw Nikoda sitting down peacefully, an old chinese man standing evily next to him. The girl giggled to herself, she had only ever had one meeting with the man, and she had thrown a bokken at his head and run off; the girl tried her hardest not to laugh as she waved politely at the pair. Kaiyo's Zanpaktou hung loosly at her hip as she carried on strolling towards the pair, hoping the old guy didn't remember her. 'nice day for a fight' she called.

Pai Mei smacked Nikoda in the back of the head with his wooden walking staff.

"Pay atttention. Your teacher, Snape, doesn't pay me to watch you take naps. Plus your opponent is here. I'm glad someone else is willing to train you, I thought I'd have to kill you before you became a true warrior. Hopefully, this young'en will teach you a thing or two."

Nikoda turned around and glared at him as he lectured the younger shinigami. Nikoda decided to ignore the old man, composed himself, and turned back to Kaiyo. He stood, bowed to her and then greeted her.

"Good day, Kaiyo. It is an honor to spar with you. I am ready whenever you are." He would had attempted to smile but he didn't want to scare her off.

Pai Mei moved back a few feet and sat down, twirling his moustache in amusement.

((OOC: just a heads up you can't use shunpo until you 20 speed points now ))

Kaiyo beamed happily as she threw a casual wave to both men, certain she saw the tiny guy glare at her Kaiyo giggled. 'Okay i'll let you take the first offensive, let me just get ready'. Kaiyo walked straight past Nikoda, unsheathing her Zanpaktou as she went. Kaiyo spun round on the ball of her foot, facing Nikoda once more.

At the shinigami academy they taught you a single stance to always start combat with, Kaiyo had never found that stance useful for her particlar preference of combat. Throwing a polite smile to Nikoda's trainer once more the girl nodded over to Nidoka. 'Best of luck'. Kaiyo decided she wouldn't release her Shikai, unless she needed to; the girl wanted to fight but she didn't want Nikoda to look bad in front of his trainer. He so remembers me she stared at Pai Mei out of the corner of her eyes.

(OOC: True. Sorry, I just put that so I didn't have to put he ran really fast or anything like that. I can change it though if you want me to.)

Nikoda's brown eyes focused forward as he focused his mind, his master had told him many times: 'focus. For someone like you the best thing you can do is focus.' He ran his hands through his short, spiked black hair one last time and then placed his hand on his sword hilt. Taking his ackward looking stance of holding his sheathed sword with one hand, and having his other hand in a fist by his waist while spreading his legs wide for a good base. He like the fact that wasn't any wind, it would cause his gi to blow around and touch his arms even though he wore a sleeveless gi. He hated sword fighting with things touching his arms...and he had a feeling he would actually be forced to draw his sword-that he would be sword fighting quite a bit in this battle. However he held on to his pride as long as he could and decided to use a kidou.

"May the bucklers of the Holy Knight grace my forearms! May the boots of ten tons grace my feet! May these Angel's Arms hold me in my place so I may stand steady against all odds! Way of Binding #7: SteadFast!"

Kidou energy formed around his forearms and legs and a slight grin crossed his lips. A plan was already forming, and thats why he loved battle. He informed Kaiyo, "I'm done. Next move is your's. I'm more of a defensive fighter."

((OOC: fighting skill please. And don't worry about it, just figured you should know, took me a few weeks to realise as well ))

Kaiyo smirked at Nikoda, she really hated Kidou, but the girl never held that against anyone, infact she found it refreshing in combat. Among all of the other vice captains Kaiyo's sword skill had proven superior and the girl loved direct combat, so this fight was definately proving interesting to say the least. Kaiyo nodded and smiled, 'Its a good thing we're not both defensive fighters' she giggled, any good fight compared the opponents weaknesses as much as their strengths.

Kaiyo slid her right foot backwards, quickly pushing off from it as she sped towards Nikoda, only her right hand holding her blade the girl decided she'd try something new. Kaiyo got close to Nikoda and jumped forwards onto her right hand, jumping and spinning back up as she swung her Zanpaktou along at his left arm. Landing quickly on the ground the girl kept her momentum, spinning round still until her back was facing her opponent, her right arm travelling with her until she had turned. The girl thrust her right arm backwards, her Zanpaktou lunging at Nikoda. Kaiyo grinend and jumped forwards, spinning as she skidded along the ground. Her initial attack was usually doen as a tester, like dipping your toe into the water before leaping in.

As Kaiyo's blade came at his left arm, Nikoda raised his blade from it's sheath at an angle causing it to block the attack. Kaiyo then landed and thrusted at Nikoda in an instant. The only thing Nikoda could think to do in such an instant was block with his forearm. He let go of his sword and it slid back into his sheath, the tip never leaving the sheath to begin with. As quickly as he could manage he blocked with his forearms in front of him, which connected with Kaiyo's sword tip. The power of the blade hitting the kidou armor shattered it, but much to Nikoda's delight he was able to stand his ground due to the leg armor.

He calculated from the sheer force of the simple blow that Kaiyo had to be at least 4 times stronger than himself with a sword. Slowly sweated started to pour down his forehead, this certainly made things a bit more interesting as if they weren't already. Nikoda smiled again for he had been wanting to try a kidou and see how people would react to use a menacing kidou, it would be another experiment fulfilled. He raised his hands and commanded his energy vocally.

"May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickenedness deliver their judgement upon those around. Way of Destruction #6: Rain of Pain!"

The light clouds overhead darkened intensely as drops of acidic rain began to dribble and then down pour. He stood there motionless and watching intently for he was dying to see what would come next. His brilliant mind needed information, and waited haltingly for more. This is what he lived for, experimenting, even if it meant in the middle of battle. Know he knew, alittle bit, what his master had meant when he said that life was like our own little experiment.

Kaiyo tilted her head at Nikoda, the girl thought she was starting to catch on with his train of thought, smiling as he cast a kidou spell. The small blonde girl leapt forwards as the clouds began to grey over, Kaiyo knew the spell, which was an unusual advantage for the girl. Kaiyo decided she'd let Nikoda's experiment be a little bit more fun. The blonde girl didn't move for a moment, staring blankly up to the clouds as the sky became darker, the girl slowly dropped her head to look at Nikoda, smirking happily.

The first few droplets of acid fell gently to the ground, a small splattering noise made on impact as Kaiyo leapt forwards to Nikoda. The small radius around the caster isn't affected by the spell, as the murky rain began to pour down Kaiyo lunger her Zanpaktou forwards. Alterning her cenre of gravity for weaker attacks and better balance, the girl was avoided the majority of the attack, with just a few small burns on her arm. Kaiyo let loose a barrage of jabs and slashes at Nikoda, trying move her blade in one fluid motion, using the momentum from her previous attack to make the next one stronger.

Nikoda was amazed, Kaiyo being the warrior that she was, was able to find the weakness in the powerful kidou. As Kaiyo came forward, Nikoda partially drew his blade again to block the intial attack. He barely managed to dodge the next one but the three one caught him died in the shoulder. Nikoda winched, as the sword tip entered the flesh of his shoulder. He had noticed and taken note how Kaiyo's sword strikes got stronger and stronger as she went-Nikoda had already learned something about sword fighting from the Vice-Captian: start slow and work your way up to full power.

He pushed through the searing pain that was engulfing his left shoulder as he commanded his other hand to move. He had known about the small radius around him that was save, the one weakness of the kidou he had just cast-but it was all part of the plan. As quickly as he could, he gripped Kaiyo's hand most forward on her sword hilt and used his next kidou.

"Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat! Way of Binding #9: Strike!" He tried to whisper just low enough to match the pitter patter of the rain. Though his lips were obviously visible. The moment from his right arm caused the sword to sink a little deeper into his left shoulder, there would be alot of blood if he didn't find a way to cover up the puncture wound. He didn't know how this would effect him using his left arm for the rest of the battle but he would find out soon enough. He felt his kidou energy waning, he had one possibly two more kidou left in him at max and he had one in mind that he could make count.

((OOC: sorry for the poor quality i didn't want to leave you waiting but i'm really not feeling well so if any of it doesn't make much sense just tell me and i'll edit it out))

Kaiyo grinned, she'd been right about Nikoda, the guy was a calculator. Analysing her movements and corresponding his to outrank them; Kaiyo had to admit she was impressed, few shinigami were capable of such tactical knowledge, let alone academy students. Nevertheless the girl was stubborn, and had decided to use a back up plan, Kaiyo didn't know exactly what spell Nikoda was going to use, she just knew it was likely to be a binding spell. As Nikoda grabbed tightly onto the girl's hand Kaiyo's brain booted into action. The girl spoke quickly and clearly, her lips matching Nikoda's, 'Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat'.

A deep red light engulfed the small girl, throwing her backwards and to the ground, her Zanpaktou sliding across the ground as Kaiyo lay still, grinning. The girl looked up slowly, hoping her own Bakudo spell had landed in time.

(OOC: Its fine. Hope you feel better.)

There was brilliant flash of red light as two binding kidous were released simulateously. Nikoda saw out of the corner of his eye, Kaiyo fall to the ground as he himself fell. He had never been impressed by any shinigami before (except for Pai Mei) but Nikoda was thoroughly impressed by the Vice-Captain. Even he hadn't thought of her using the same kidou, she was quite intelligent-of that he was sure. For the first time in a long time, Nikoda realized that he was actually enjoying himself; he knew that after he completed his academy exams he wanted to join Squad 11 and fight strong people like Kaiyo. All the possibilities of the different experiments he could perform swam in his head as laid there. Eventually he was able to stand and was his opponent.

Nikoda decided that being defensive would only result in him losing faster, since he would soon run out of kidou so he decided it was time to use his sword. He drew Tensugata from his side, the shiny alloy of the blade still reflect a little light even with the clouds above covering the sun. Nikoda ran forward two steps and jumped up, his sword coming down in a quick slicing motion. His other hand came from the side, at first empty but he changed that.

"Burn of the blades that have been lost! Way of Destruction #8: Blade of Flames!"

As the kidou materialized a flaming sword in his left hand, it was already travelling horizontally unlike his zanpakutou which was travelling vertically at his opponent. If he missed he still had a plan for the fiery sword, but he waited to see what was next. Slowly but surely a smile started to form on his lips, and he couldn't control showing his delight of battle.

((OOC: sorry for the wait again i actually totally forgot about this fight >.<))

Kaiyo grinned as Nikoda leapt into the air. The girl figured it would simply interest the guy even more if she were to release her Shikai even for a moment. It would easier for Kaiyo to use a shikai ability, rather than trying to win through exhurting herself and combatting her skill and tactics the girl simply blast him away. Kaiyo didn't need much persuasion. The girl spun her blade in her hand and dug it into the ground, calling loudly, 'Denkou Kabe' the red and yellow ribbons grew at the end of her hilt as her blade glowed a golden yellow before it as stuck into the groun. The girl's spiritual energy boosted to a hieght that erupted through ehr senses, prickling her nerves with energy.

A golden reaitsu filled wall of electrical energy shot loudly in front of the blonde girl, chances are the pure energy within the wall would destroy the fire blade, or at least that was part of the plan. Kaiyo's special form of lightning had been so corrosives the girl had killed many hollows within ints solid barriers. Kaiyo stood quietly behind her ultimate defense, pulling her Zanpaktou out of the ground as the girl sealed back up her Shikai, the large wall slowly fading back into the ground Kaiyo's mind raced obn two thoughts. That Nikoda had been fast enough to escape the attack, and that his master standing at her side had enough sense to move as well. The girl glanced sideways to check the old man was there, moved furtehr along and looking slightly flustered he was fine. As the ribbons dissolved back up the hilt Kaiyo turned her attention once more to Nikoda.

While Nikoda was in mid-air, about to strike, a wall of golden reiatsu shot up in front of him. He was completely surprised for he didn't think he would be able to see the Vice-Captain's Shikai in this fight. As the wall incinerated the flaming sword in his hand, he sincerely smiled for the first time in a while for he was honestly impressed. He didn't have enough time to save his left hand (which had held the flaming sword) from being electrocuted but he could save the rest of his body from being zapped.

He used his last kidou, " Way of Binding #8: Repulse!" A circular disk of kidou formed around his foot, which he kicked against the golden wall and repulsed himself back and away from the Shikia. Nikoda admired the Shikai until it dissapated. He now had another ability he could add to his calculations, an ability that made him excited in wonder. He wanted to flee the battle and begin studying it immediately but wouldn't dare disrespect the Vice-Captain by leaving. He wiped his Discover’s smile off his face and reminded himself that this was something that he would also never be surprised by again. He stored the true power of Shinigamis in his mind and very little he knew about.

The searing pain of his left shoulder, which was bleeding and the burns on his hands screamed at him as he looked down at his wounds. He then looked at Kaiyo, who looked even more powerful as she stood erect; something he thought was not possible. How strong was she really? He probably had only scrapped the tip of ice berg. Nikoda bowed deeply and surrendered the victory to Kaiyo.

"My left arm is pretty much useless, the victory goes to you." He pondered for a second before continuing, "But I will become stronger. I know have a goal-to become one with my zanpakutou. When that happens, maybe we can do this again." Nikoda thought he had saw Pai Mei smile out of the corner of his eye when he mentioned his zanpakutou.

However when the old Kung Fu master approached him, he smacked him in the head with his wooden staff.

"You lost, Dog...but you showed some real guts and I bet you learned a thing or two so I guess you get dinner after all." Nikoda smiled and bowed to his master, "Thank you master." Then he waited for Kaiyo's reply. He wondered what the future held, even if the woman didn't become his Vice-Captain he knew somehow that they would fight in battle together and that he would be glad that she was on his side.

Kaiyo grinned happily as she bounded over to Nikoda, bowing to both her opponent as his master. The girl turned to Nikoda, her large blue eyes reflecting the sunlight as she spoke, 'Meditating works, to help the bond between your Zanpaktou and yourself, meditate with it' her advise still sounded silly to Kaiyo, but she knew it worked so didn't blush too much. Kaiyo stood still for a moment, thinking to herself. Nikoda would definately suit 12th squad, but more than one scientist had refused to join the 12th squad, for wanting to continue their own research. The girl shugged slightly as smiled once more to Nikoda, 'Drop by the 4th squad to have your hand looked at' the girl said politely, 'Nice fight by the way, anyone would be luck to have you in their squad'.

Kaiyo turned on her heel and walked past the student and teacher, throwing a casual wave over her shoulder, 'See ya later Nikoda, Pai Mei' the girol smirked to herself as she walked off, knowing her informal greeting of the kung fu master would annoy him slightly.
