It was a regular occurance, the Gotei 13 came to the Shinigami Academy to persuade the hopefulls of the academy to join their squad. Everyone ranked Lieutenant and down was invited to join the festivities, some squads even made it mandatory, after many years it had become tradition for the Squads to compete to see who gets the most members. Each squad was given a stall; a theatre to speak in and various sparring grounds to display what their squad could do. The academy students were sent out to try and decided which squad suited them best. The sun was high and the day was just an hour away from starting, table's and banners were being moved at high speeds and uniforms checked by the Lieutenants. In one hour the academy students would be sent into the ring of death; a small ring where the main squad table's had been set up, herded like sheep in the circle until they were brave enough to approach a squad.

Kaiyo smirked at the 12th squad, the blonde girl had come prepared, deciding this was a competition and she couldn't lose Kaiyo stood neatly behind her stall; a large plate of hot fresh cookies waiting next to her. Kaiyo had sent off most of her squad to wander the academy grounds and talk to any academy student they saw; the rest of the squad were stationed with her, smiles beaming. The tension running around was only beaten by the large reiatsu each squad table tried to push out; somehow shpwing they were the best if people couldn't breath due to the spiritual energy running around.

"Tch, what a pain..." Ryouta muttered as he helped set up the Squad 2 stalls. He had absolutely no intention of showing off very many Squad 2 things unless specifically ordered to by the Captain- after all, anyone who was serious or good enough to be in Squad 2- would already know. Ryouta had a speech complete with all sorts of "fun things" planned out to give to the incoming Academy students. He smirked, despite his annoyance. That might be fun, depending on how many Academy students he freaked out.

Momo let out a small sigh as she stood behind the Squad 6 table, the fact she would have to smile for the entire would have been bad enough but the prospect of talking to the academy students simply made the situation even worse. However Momo had been given her orders, she had to sell the 6th Squad. Despite the fact Momo had only been transfered to the 6th squad a few days ago; but she guessed mentioning that wouldn't be her best idea. Glancing at a large clock that had been set up on the side of the wall Momo's face dropped, she had half an hour to mentally prepare herself for the ominous question.

'Whats it really like being in the 6th Squad?'

Rebecca looked around. just what exactly was going on? She was unaware of why these tables were set up. She brushed her hands against the red and white robes the achademy girl students wore. Her blonde hair brushed over her eyes which she moved aside with the back of her hand. Rebecca let a sigh escape from her charming lips. She felt slightly uncomfortable as well.

Yes she was a achademy student and yes she was new, and yes this also ment that Rebecca didnt know many shinigami around here. She was just a short cute blonde girl that gave off the impression of a weakling, however she had such potential and it was only seen by few people. Insted of a fighter Rebecca seemed more like the kind of girl you would want to just hang out with and have, just like Matsumoto. Rebecca was however fun to hang out with but she was a great fighter for her level of experience.

Rebecca kicked the ground with her left foot, sending up a small cloud of dust. Her zanpakuto was sucurely held to her side. It didnt seem like there was many achedemy students here, this gave Rebecca the impression that she wasnt even suppose to be here. Rebecca didnt seem to care however she just acted casualy as she saw a few shinigami prepare themselfves for....something. Her green eyes which seemd to almost sparkle were focued on tables. Ah, yes, tables, tables, and yet more tables. Obviously the squads were preparing for something...something.

Now Ryouta was sitting at the stall with his feet up on a table. An overly long metal toothpick was between his lips. His eyes were almost completely closed, but a small slit remained open so he could keep an eye on proceedings. The Squad 2 banner was hung unobtrusively over the stall. Until he got an interested patron- Ryouta had no intention of selling Squad 2 like a vendor hawking his wares.

His patrol members were around the stall as well, though they were in trees surrounding it. Ryouta had told them to remain up there, as their Onmitsukido uniforms were likely to offset some of the Academy members. He felt a presence appear beside him- Vixen had flash stepped by his side.

"Aren't you supposed to be selling the squad?" she asked.

"Yeah. But I'm thinkin' I don't feel like it...besides...I'd say that maybe 5% of the graduatin' class is cut out for Onmitsukido. Let them come figure out what it takes by 'emselves. If they've got it, they'll come themselves. You'll see."

"...Hai, fukutaichou." She flash stepped back up into the trees.

Kaiyo bounced happily behind her table as she checked her pale blue watch, times up she called excitedly, her happy voice echoed through the ring ot tables. Kaiyo spun around quickly as she noticed an academy student, a blonde girl kicking dirt. A loud bell rang though the air as the flood gates were opened. Academy students poured through the large doors, bustling and chattering in their small group and all wandering off in different directions. Kaiyo giggled to herself, to her it was a competition and she was determined to win. The small blonde girl nudged her fellow squad members to watch their stall. The small girl placed one hand on the table and leapt over it, bounding through the academy students who parted with awe at the Lieutenant.

Kaiyo appeared quickly in front of the blonde girl and smiled, 'Heya, wanna have a look at 11th squad' Kaiyo's usual welcoming smile stared into the girl's eyes.

Kuro was swept in with his kido class. He stared around as the students started to wander aimlessly, intimidated by the gotei members. He noticed Kaiyo as she leapt through the crowd and approached a new girl he'd never seen before. Since Kaiyo was the person he was most familiar with in the crowd, he walked over to join them. He came quickly behind Kaiyo and playfully poked her in the back with his sheathed zanpakuto.

"You'll wanna watch out for this leiutenant. She's got an endless supply of energy. I should know, I've sparred against her before."

Kuro eye'd the new girl. She didn't seem to be very happy at the moment. Kaiyo will fix that up in a minute or two. He thought to himself.

From under his half-lidded eyes, Ryouta nodded the flood of Academy students with little interest. A student with purple hair caught his eye. Kuro... From the short amount of time he had spoken to him, and the bloody evidence that had been around the first time he had met him, Ryouta surmised that the guy definitely had potential. However, he had no intention of calling Kuro's intention to his stall- there would be no exceptions to his made-up rule. Future members of the Onmitsukido would have to approach him themselves.

A small group of Academy students broke off from the main group and milled about in front of his stall. Ryouta opened his eyes fully. "Whaddya want?" he asked.

"Umm...shouldn't you be selling the virtues of your squad to us?" a particularly cocky looking Academy student piped up.

Ryouta's eyes narrowed. He hated cocky people. "Shouldn't ya know better than to question the way a Vice-Captain does his job?" he said dangerously. "Step up here, all of ya."

The students complied. The cocky one had both hands on the table. Ryouta spoke again. "As ya can see, this is the Squad 2 booth. I'm not gonna win ya over with pretty speeches or bribes or whatever. If ya've got what it takes- ya've got what it takes. The Onmitsukido have no time for weaklings or the weak-willed." Without warning, he drew his right ninjato with lightning speed and plunged it between the fingers of the cocky student. It quivered in the wood. The student gave a short little scream and fainted. Several of the other students jumped or yelped in response, but no others fainted.

Ryouta looked down at him with a somewhat disgusted look, though this was marred by his obvious amusement. "Haha, that was fun. Anyway, this is how Onmitsukido works. We're assassins. We win no matter what it takes. Being Onmitsukido means attacking from behind if ya have to. Being Onmitsukido means throwing dirt in the enemy's eyes if ya have to. Being Onmitsukido means sacrificing an ally so ya can win, or leavin' one behind so ya can survive if ya're too pathetic to even do that! Got it? Any of ya can't handle that...then get outta my sight!"

The students just stared at him in stunned silence. Idiots...so naive. Well, I think I made a lasting impression. Ryouta sat back down, removed his ninjato from the wood and sheathed it, then returned to his half-dozing posture.

Kaiyo spun round and smiled at Kuro, hugging him happily, 'hey again; yeah sorry about our sparring match' the blonde girl giggled awkwardly, 'You have to come over to my table..I even made cookies!' Kaiyo glanced around for a moment, she knew Kuro was good, and she wanted him for her squad, which meant she had to guard him, but the new girl looked interesting as well. Kaiyo's mind raced with ideas, eventually the girl smiled over the academy student and grabbed hold of her hand, holding Kuro's in her other hand Kaiyo dragged them both over to her table.

Smiling at her own genius the small girl passed them both flyers about the 11th squad.

Rebecca tilted her head to the side, holy snap! achademy students were everywhere, so this was it eh? The squads wanted to get more members so their trying to convince the achademy students....nice.

Rebecca let a grin appear on her face as what apparently was the eleventh division vice captain approched her. however another person had approched her and greeted her. Rebecca remained silent as the small blonde girl who was close to her height turned to hus this new guy.

Rebecca almost giggled when she heard the bit about cookies. Yes, join squad eleven. We have cookies. Rebecca could see that being their tag line for getting division members to join.

rebecca then widened her eyes as she felt her hand being grabed as she was now being pulled along by the shinigami.

[b]Um, im Rebecca Seitz, im a bit new here....nice meeting you she greeted to the two as she was being tugged along

'hi Rebecca, I'm Kaiyo, Lieutenant of the 11th squad' the small blonde girl grinned hapily at the academy student; lifting her large tray of cookies and offering them around to anyone nearby. Kaiyo passed out some more squad 11 leaflets as she turned back to Kuro and Rebecca, hopping up to sit on her table Kaiyo smiled, 'So are either of you thinking of squad 11?'. Kaiyo had underestimated how many people were going to be here, the academy students were bustling together is groups, or packs.

One rather unlucky academy student was nodding and talking to squad 6 before strolling over, taking a cookie and leaving; Kaiyo's face dropped as she picked up her nearby pen, throwing it straight at the boy's cookie when he tried to eat it. The boy turned around angirly to see Kaiyo wacing politely at him; the girl giggled slightly before turning back to her current issue.

Kuro's face flushed a bit pink as Kaiyo asked her question. He knew that this day would be uncomfortable. He started fidgeting with his sword, clicking it up and down in its sheath as he tried to answer in a way that wouldn't upset Kaiyo.

"I'm not exactly sure what squad I should join at the moment. I always thought that I would be assigned to squad 2, given my background and my specialties in speed and stealth. But my fighting skills are improving too........so I'm not sure where to go anymore. Most likely I'll end up in 11 or 2. Guess it's a good thing I've already met the vice captains of both those squads."

Kuro smiled his same indifferent smile as usual as he finished his answer. He turned to the Rebecca and asked her about her decision.

"So Seitz-san," he began in formal speech like he always did when meeting someone new, "what areas are you good in? You think Kaiyo's squad could use you?"

Rebecca tilted her head up. Having the boy talk to her mad a grin appear on her face, anlong with a slight blush. The girl blushed so easily, it was a bad habit that she disliked.
Hmmm....what am i reallly good in.. Rebecca thought to herself, she wasnt the kind to think much about herself, infact she always thought less of herself and disbelived what others usually said about her.

Flickering her eyes to look upon the ground Rebecca blinked a few times. Once a brief pause of silence as Rebecca thought she tilted her head back up.
"weelllll...." She began, taking a breath before she continued. "Im not the fastest I can tell you that. Although i plan on working on my shunpo soon, not to mention on some bookwork." she said almost nervously, scrathing the back of her head with her right hand, messing up her blond hair a bit.

"I can tell you im quite good at Kido, I even know quite a bit of spells. Heh, as for fighting skills, Im pretty flexible and I think im becoming quite good at fighting" Rebecca's lips pulled back to revleal her strait white teeth as she smiled warmly.
"Im not sure which squad to go into quite yet, i mean, I just got enrolled in the achademy not to long ago heh heh ^^'' Rebecca let out a nervous laugh, she hated being new but hopefully she had made some new friends

"Uh-oh.........Kaiyo's not fond of kido. I wouldn't do it around her much if I were you." Kuro smiled as he remembered his spar with Kaiyo and how put off she'd been when he tried using bakudo. "But if your fighting skill is improving, I bet Kaiyo'd love to have you join her squad."

Kuro glanced around the area again. The students were starting to get over their nervousness and were approaching the different squad areas with interest. His own gaze drifted over to the 2nd squad booth with their crowd that seemed shocked with something Ryota had said or done. Kuro turned back to the girls and gave another smile.

"Hopefully, I'll see you girls later. I'll spar with you sometime if you'd like Seitz-san. I'm gonna go say hi to Lieutenant Ryota for a moment."

With a quick wave, Kuro turned and started walking over to the 2nd squad booth. As he passed other academy students, he noticed that a lot of them were talking about Ryota and something that he had said. He wondered to himself if Ryota'd been acting goofy again like rumors said. He reached the booth and stared down at Ryota's slouching figure.

"So what's got all the other students so freaked out about your display Ryota-fukutaichou?"

Ryouta's eyes opened fully to see Kuro standing before him. "Kuro-san, nice to see ya. Ya seemed the type to at least show up and take a look."

Ryouta smirked with obvious amusement. "Well that one over there-" Ryouta gestured at the fainted student. "Doesn't seem ta be able ta take surprises very well. Hehehe."

He looked out over the rest of the students. "And the others...well, they don't have the stomach for being Onmitsukido." His gaze traveled from Kuro to a random Academy student. "For example...Oy the guy in the ridiculous headband!" The student turned. "Look out!" Ryouta spat his metal toothpick with pinpoint accuracy at the guy's chest. He shrieked and ducked, attempting to cover his head with his hands. Instead, the toothpick buried itself about a quarter of the way into the stall of 9th Squad.

"See now, someone who was cut out for the 2nd Squad line of work would've at least tried to catch the damn thing, or block it with their sword, or use their robe sleeves to render it harmless. Not only are these students useless cowards, they're idiots who can't think fast on their feet." Ryouta gestured at a student to give him his toothpick back, then replaced it in his mouth. "I trust ya don't have the same problem?"
