(me and Kaiyo)

Kuro sat there on the roof of a building near the edge of the 11th districts turf. He laid down watching the sky, thinking calmly to himself about his duel with Kaiyo. He let out a relaxed sigh. "Why did she have to let me win... She could have won. I have heard rumors... She would not just throw in the towel like that. Even if it seemed like I needed it more... There must have been another reason. First of all, she was a Vice-captain... And she is in the 11th squad as well. I must know the truth.. I hope she got my letter." Images of sneaking into the 11th district and leaving the letter requesting to see her ran through his mind.

Kaiyo giggled down at Nerdy chan, sitting herself quickly down next to him on the roof. She'd flash stepped there quite quickly and probably given him quite a fright at her appearance. 'So what did you wanna know about our fight?' she smiled, squinting slightly in the sun. Kaiyo still remembered the fight, it was one of the few ones where she had let someone else win. The blonde girl smiled and stared into Kuro's eyes; she'd heard all the rumours and speculation about the elite academy student who had beaten her in a duel, it made her laugh mostly, but almost undeniably it made Kaiyo smile.

Leaning back on her hands the wind flicked her blonde hair to the side gently as she waited for Nerdy chan's response.

"Why did you let me win... There is another reason.... I know there is..." Kuro said as he looked at her. Images of the fight flashed in his mind. He watched as she messed with her hair, he lightly turned flustered. He let out a sigh, "Please tell me, it has been on my mind." Kuro said quietly, under his breath. Kuro scratched his head and looked away for a moment, staring off at the sky. Kuro was trying to keep his cool, for this was the first time he had talked to a girl just to talk to them. He was aggravated at himself for acting so shy, yet he was freezing up, unsure of what to say or do.

Kaiyo tilted her head at nerdy chan, smiling in her usual sweet manner as she spoke, 'Why would i hurt someone for the sake of winning a fight i have no need to win?'. Kaiyo moved her hands, shuffling closer to Nerdy chan as she smiled once more, 'I don't really like quoting teachers and i never really agreed with it, but, Natsumi Sensei said there are two kinds of fight, a fight to preserve life, or a fight to preserve honor. I think we both know which yours was'. The girl tilted her head at angle, keeping eye contact as she spoke, 'And i can't have anyone fighting without Honor can i?'.

Kaiyo loved fighting, that much she would never deny, but the outcome rarely mattered to her as long as she had fun, and unnecessarily hurting someone she cared about seemed pointless. 'And i couldn't bear to see you dying' she giggled.

Kuro turned his head flustered a bit at the the last comment. "I wouldn't die... I am too stubborn to die... I still need to get strong.. So when I find someone worth protecting... I can." Kuro said as he began to stare off into space. he looked back at her calmly. "I wasn't fighting for honor by the way... Nor was I trying to preserve life. I wanted to see how far I was from your level. And It was clear to me that you could have won in a heartbeat. I could not get over it. Though I have kept fighting people stronger than me since then... So I could beat you fairly..." Kuro said, while holding up what appeared to be a hilt of a Seele Schneider. "I have even killed a Quincy around five times stronger than I am..." Kuro handed it to Kaiyo, "I want you to hold on to it though.... Take it... Think of it as a promise... That one day... I will beat you fair and square... On the same level." Kuro smiled warmly at that moment, though he still had a fast heartbeat due to how close she was.

Kuro began to watch her eyes, how he thought the blue in her eyes sparkled. He was off in thought as he watched them. You like her... Huh boy?..... Kuro blushed while looking down, seeing the old man in the cloak of feathers on the other side of Kaiyo. Don't worry she can't see me... Or hear me for that matter... So, you are failing at not making it obvious that you are in to her... Especially with that whole, giving her your battle trophy thing..... You really are a nerd... huh boy? Kuro flustered even more, his eyes lit with reiastu and he screamed. "Shut up!!! You have no right to speak on the subject!!!!" Kuro then realized as soon as he said that, that she could hear that too and she couldn't hear the old man's voice. "I am so sorry... I was not talking to you Kaiyo-sensei... You see... I can..." Your blowing it boy..... Wow... You are just out of your league here.... Try something easier... Like taping a picture of a random girls face over your reflection on a mirror... That might work. The old man said jokingly as he interrupted Kuro.

Kuro looked up with tears in the corners of his eyes. "Shut up you old geezer.... Please... Your commentary is not helping me at all you Old Fart!!" Kuro said as he gritted his teeth. Kuro yet again looked at Kaiyo and began spazzing out. "I am sorry... I can see an old man... And I mean... Only I can see him... Or hear him... It is so weird.. Don't freak out and think I am a crazy weirdo..." Kuro looked down, his face completely flustered. Kuro felt like everything was going for him failing at the conversation. The old man just laughed and began to fade away. Kids now days...

Kaiyo tilted her head at Kuro, still smiling as she spoke. The small girl placed his battle trophy down next to her as she untied her sheathed Zanpaktou from her obi sash. The small girl winked quickly at nerdy chan before she spoke. 'So you can see you Zanpaktou already? Let me show you Tenrai Zenpyou'. Kaiyo had achieved Bankai, most people knew that by now, even some academy students knew, but unlike most those with Bankai had a stronger connection with their Zanpaktou and could make it's spirit materialise for all to see.

Kaiyo leapt to her feet, 'Erm, move back a bit, Tenrai isn't so friendly'she giggled. Nerdy chan probably hadn't figured the old man was his Zanpaktou, although she was still laughing at the worried look on his face as he started talking to the old man. A glimmer of excitement ran across the girl's face as she shut her eyes for a moment, The woman with her brown hair appeared quickly at one side of Kaiyo, the large golden lion at her other side as the small girl smiled at Nerdy chan.

Kaiyo's smile quickly dropped as Tenrai turned round to the small girl and punched her in the face, as usual. Kaiyo spun round at the woman and scowled as she spoke, 'Please tell me you didn't just call us out here to show off'. kaiyo smirked at the evil witch, 'Actually i thought you could help Nerdy chan with tips to get Shikai'. The lion stepped closer to Kaiyo's friend before Tenrai could speak, Zenpyou's low voice booming through the sky, 'Hello Kuro Crowe, my name is Zenpyou, how can we be of service?'. Kaiyo beamed with joy as she leapt at the lio, hugging is always soft mane happily before Tenrai kicked her in the back of the head again, nodding at Nerdy chan as the woman turned to him, stepping closer as she spoke,'Lets get this over with then kid'

Kuro looked at the new faces curiously. He walked up close to the lion, squatting down observing its face. Then he turned towards the witch. His eyes scanned over her from her face to her feet. "They are your spirits... They are your... Zanpaktou?" Kuro said with disbelief as he stared at the two. "This is utterly intriguing. So you mean my? My old man is my Zanpaktou? I thought I was just crazy." No boy... You weren't crazy... I just didn't feel like letting you know sooner. Well... Not until you were ready to know my name, though you still have a while to go before that.

Kuro looked at them, "When the time is right... How do I do it... How do I prove myself to the old man?" Kuro looked up for a second thinking of possible outcomes. "How do I even start to go through the process of learning about my Zanpaktou.... How will I know.." Kuro said, curiosity was blasting through his mind. He was a mass of confusion that had so much running through his mind. His feelings were discombobulated, he was shocked by the new of his Old man, and also he was seeing someone else's zanpaktou spirits. The old man put his hand on the boy's left shoulder and took a deep breath. Calm child, there is no reason to be so worked up over this. You need to calm down, if you stay so trivial these zanpaktou might not be that accepting of you. Kuro nodded slowly, he knew the old man was right. He began to breath deeply and then look at the three calmly. "I am sorry, I am calm now. It was a bit for me to take in, that's all."

Tenrai smirked at the boy, as the woman stepped closer with her arms folded and looked down at him, 'listen kid you might be a way off if your gunna get so excited about it'. Kaiyo tilted her head at Tenrai, the evil woman was being way nice to nerdy chan than she had ever been to her. Zenpyou stepped forwards, 'Your Zanpaktou is connected to your soul, and you will simply have to prove your worth to the man'.

Kaiyo shrugged and glanced between her Zanpaktou, 'So, erm, wanna double team me and nerdy chan against you two?'. Tenrai vanished for a moment, appearing behind Kaiyo as she swept her leg along the girl's feet, 'Not with a stance like that'she smirked. kaiyo flash stepped to next to Nerdy chan, smiling as she glanced between the spirits of her Zanpaktou as Tenrai unsheathed the Zanpaktou that was tied on her back, sighing as she spoke, 'Fine but you kids better not expect us to go easy on ya'. The majestic lion slowly nodded, his mane swaying in the wind as a golden light surrounded him as he transformed into a human appearance. The same robes as Tenrai and the same Zanptkou on his back.

Of course they had moved to an empy field, Kaiyo didn't want anyone getting hurt. The small girl glanced between nerdy chan and Tenrai and Zenpyou smiling as she spoke to her ally, 'Don't worry nerdy chan, i probably won't be able to let you get hurt' she giggled; the small girl's sense of preservation of others often got in the way, and Tenrai was definately going to use that against her. 'First attack goes to you Kuro Crowe' called Zenpyou, his shiny blame glistening in the light, 'I'd suggest you try and prove to your old man that you have proficient sword skill' he winked. Kaiyo wasn't entirely sure how Zenpyou knew what Nerdy chan's Zanpaktou was, but she figured it was irrelevant to ask.

The old man shook his head, I do not really care about sword skills... Though you should amuse her. Use the sword our way... Kuro nodded and jumped back. Kuro touched the bottom of the hilt and began slowly swinging it by a kidou thread. He stopped and grabbed it by the hilt waving his hand over it, letting bits of oil drizzle on it. Kuro lit a small blue orb in his hands and touched the tip. The sword was lit with a glowing blue fire. Kuro smiled and gripped the sword tightly. "Let my energy flow and cut my opponent to ribbons. May his remains be scattered by the winds. Way of Destruction #27 Reshi Blade!" Energy began spinning around his blade. His sword was now a flaming chainsaw. Kuro glanced at the lady, "So you see, I have no sword fighting skill. But... My Kidou makes up for it." Kuro began spinning the blade faster and faster, Releasing it towards the Witch. Kuro raised his hand, aiming it towards the thread at the back of the sword. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Way of Destruction #33 Blue Fire, Crash Down!" The blue blast of fiery energy blasted into the thread, channeling through the thread exploding at the hilt of the blade causing it to fly faster. Kuro then raised his other hand, "Way of Destruction #1 Thrust!" The blade shot forwards going even faster.

Kuro began panting as he felt the old man place his hand on his shoulder. Good boy...You know you make me proud, even if you lose this. I am happy to be your Zanpaktou. The two watched as the blade spiraled towards the witch, as a seemingly unavoidable speed.
