PostSubject: the Lieutenant battle (Kaiyo vs Jin)   Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:33 pm

Kaiyo sat on the long branch of the tree; swinging her legs cheerily in the air. With the weather set to be mild with a westerly wind Kaiyo couldn't help but grin; the possible chance of a storm only helped to excite her more. Kaiyo's Zanpaktou had been untied and thrown to the ground below her; it had gotten in the way of her leg swinging on the tree.

In her usual manner Kaiyo had arrived early; but only five or so minutes. She hadn't seen Jin since he was promoted to Vice Captain but she had sent him a hell butterfly for a friendly spar. Kaiyo had tried asking the other Lieutenants for some friendly fights but many didn't seem so willing to either hurt such an innocent girl or to mess around with a child; the excuses continued. Regardless of the others Kaiyo sat smiling at the wind pushed her clothing closer to her skin, waiting for her opponent.

Kaiyo was keeping her senses alert so she could get to the fight as quickly as possible; her muscles practically twitching in the excitement. The small girl leapt out of the tree gracefully and picked up her Zanpaktou; he was close.

The wind sang its cheerful tune as it sailed past Jin’s skin , he was on his way too meet kaiyo in the woods that surrounded seretei’s military forces. If the request had come from any other individual it was likely Jin would have ignored it…but Kaiyo was his first acquaintance when he’d come to Seretei and had become his first friend, so there wasn’t much he was willing too deny her. Plus he was kind of bored after being dumped with yet another load of paper work and thought maybe the small girls cheery demeanour would liven him up a little.

The sun glinted from the blade rested on his shoulder as Jin steeped into the clearing that housed a young girl sat on a tree branch nonchalantly swinging her legs. The small individual had a familiar large smile resting on her face as she basked in the joy’s of the summery weather.

“Kaiyo-chan, I managed too make it here don’t tell me your enjoying this weather so much you’ve lost interest in our meeting” Jin queried with a cheeky smile and a raised eyebrow

Kaiyo smiled pleasantly when she saw Jin; throwing a casual wave at the same time she bounded closer. His sword glinting in the light kaiyo grinned. 'well done 6th Squad Vice Captain' Kaiyo stood still in front of Jin and gave a joking salute. Leaping backwards Kaiyo grinned, unsheathing her Zanpaktou she moved her sword in the rays of light for a while; the slight breeze softenned the light shining from her blade.

After a moment of enjoying her surroundingd Kaiyo nodded over to her opponent, 'Any speacial rules you want to use?' Kaiyo wasn't partiulalry bothered about specifics as long as she still got a decent fight; but looking at her opponent she was fairly certain of that.

Kaiyo smiled down at her Zanpaktou and released her shikai, the prickle of energy running along her nerves with the familiar golden sparks surrounding her Kaiyo placed both hands on her sword as the two ribbons danced along in the wind behind her. Flash stepping to behind Jin Kaiyo swung her Zanpaktou down along his shoulder; followed by various other slashes and jabs aimed at his arms and stomach.

OOC :speed pls

Jin smiled at the reply from the small girl, it had suddenly hit him as he digested her words that he hadn’t seen her since his promotion, well this would have too be a reunion she would remember. When he heard he question he had to hesitate a moment, there had been rumours around the squads that one of the lieutenants had achieved Bankai and the rumours as far as Jin could decipher led straight too kaiyo, but he decided too resist if she did decide too release it it would surely be good experience too feel it’s effects first hand….although it would make for a troublesome fight, he sighed.

“you have no need to worry of rules kaiyo-kun I won’t be abiding by any” he replied the cheeky smirk emphasised a little by his words.

But even as he spoke the body before him was gone in a blur, that small figure seemed too hide a deceptive speed. Before he knew it she was behind him, shifting his weight to his right foot he swayed his body in the same direction leaving the womans blade too slide past him, only too have a series of thrusts follow up the attack, he spun on the ball of his right foot, now facing his foe as he ducked and weaved, stepping back with each movement to avoid the strikes, on what appeared to be her final thrust he brought up his katana to parry the thrust only to skid back several yards from it’s impact. This small girl was a Demon.

Jin decided his best bet was light fast strikes to the girls frame, using his speed to confuse her, with a single flash step he was above her aiming a downward slice at her cranium before flash stepping once more now behind her with a two quick slices at the spine of her back in an X. He kept up his pace the wind whistling past his skin as he flitted around his enemy…a strike from the side….then he was on he opposite side now a thrust….suddenly in front with a slice. The strikes kept up he couldn’t let his guard down for a moment or it would be his end, his image briefly appearing against the scenery as he performed the attacks his breathing becoming ragged and harsh as the pace of the strikes began too catch up with him before skidding backward to a halt behind her.

((OOC: please can i get some speed here as well; thanks Very Happy))

Kaiyo giggled at Jin's response; he moved quickly, dodging her attack with seeming ease she gripped her Zanpaktou tighter as she awaited Jin's turn. Kaiyo chuckled once more as she jumped forwards to dodge the attack at her head; that could have ended badly she giggled. Spinning round on the ball of her foot Kaiyo swung her Zanpaktou left to right; the fulfilling clanging of metal on metal ringing cheerfully through her ears. Kaiyo focused her mind on the senses training Tenrai had given her; keeping her wits about her and her reactions sharp as Jin flashed around her. Kaiyo took one hand off her Zanpaktou so she could move it quicker around her body; shifting the weight of her body as she dodged and blocked the attacks.

Kaiyo could feel beads of sweat forming at her forehead as Jin skidded along the ground behind her. Letting out a small sigh Kaiyo was glad of the wind; it was serving to cool her down quite well. Kaiyo had so far had an advantage with her Shikai released; but she guessed that would be over soon. Kaiyo's eyes glinted in the sunlight for a moment, and then she was off again. Focusing on swinging her blade faster she started with a horizontal swipe across his stomach. Spinning over Jim's head she slashed her Zanpaktou down at his shoulder as she went landing behind him she quickly sent another lunge at his back. Kaiyo couldn’t help herself smiling, at such a stage in any fight her emotions were overcome with determination and excitement, focusing hard on being fast Kaiyo threw her arm up at Jin’s body; her Zanpaktou aiming for a strike along his shoulder once more; this time Kaiyo leapt into the air as well sending a roundhouse kick at Jin’s head. Spinning backwards over her hands Kaiyo gripped her Zanpaktou properly again; smiling happily, things were about to get interesting.

OOC: Speed again

A sigh escaped from Jin’s lips as he span his Zan-pak-tou round to meet her swipe at his stomach, this girls shikai was such a pain every parry he made against her attacks left him with a prickle of electricity shooting down his arm at times even leaving him a little numb….but it was too be expected of a lieutenant and this was what he’d signed up for. On the other hand he definitely did enjoy the feeling of accomplishment he gained from the improvement he felt in his movements as he fought with her each steep seemed a little more fluid, every parry a little more forceful. These were the skills that would carry him to captainship.

Kaiyo’s sword ground against his own as he blocked the horizontal swipe at his stomach, his muscles still a little fatigued from the strenuous workout he’d given them. Before he had time to register her movements she was above him a lightning fast movement as she span overhead swinging a slice at his shoulder, the blade slit through his flesh leaving a trail of sparks in its wake and an ugly tear in his uniform, he’d gone through so many of these things during his sessions with he shinigami peers more so even than from fighting hollow or maintaining patrol. A light gasp left his mouth as the static prickle danced across his wound, he wouldn’t be making a mistake like that again.

He a bead of sweat dripped down his forehead as his muscles tensed in preparation for his next movement, he flash stepped to the side the lunge from his rear cutting through the air where he’d stood mere seconds before. Kaiyo’s strikes had far too much power behind them for him too block them head on it was just suicide. Another attempt at the welfare of his shoulder saw Jin flash stepping once more this time too Kaiyo’s left in an attempt to avoid her attack, one that was rewarded with success as he heard the light whistle that indicated her cut through emptiness.

Just as he thought her onslaught was over a flying roundhouse kick swooped in toward his head which for Jin to jarr his body backward so his torso floated horizontal in the air balanced on one leg as the other stretched out before him maintaining his balance, his body almost in a kind of T shape, looking up to see the small girls leg swerve above him. His breathing was becoming a little more panted as his mauscles struggled too keep up with the fast pace he was keeping them too, but he was prepared too maintain it regardless he had no intention of showing Kaiyo anything less than his best, his image blurred against the forest behind him as the wind whispered into the empty vacuum that was the space he’d so recently occupied, Jin appeared once more now several metres back from Kaiyo taking charge on the mission to minimise they’re close quarters interaction. He pointed his blade toward her the tip aimed at the girls face.

“Agitarsi, Suisho Kochou”

This innocent young girl had decided she was not playing nice today and Jin could not afford too either. As he uttered the command his sword separated into 7 separate portions each a glowing purple mass slowly forming into they’re butterfly form, without a word Jin motioned his hand toward his opponent all seven of the oversized crystal insects flying toward her, and upon reaching they’re destination beginning they’re encircling of her spinning a spinning in a blurred ring of purple.

“Corrode”

He whispered causing all seven insects to simultaneously exhale clouds of neon green acidified gas on the girl all converging too form on large plume engulfing her as they flew back to their master.

Jin was already preparing his next strike his palm thrust out before him as small blue spirit particles began too converge in front of it.

"Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws."

“Hadou Number 33: Blue Fire Crash Down”

The flaming blue ball of searing hot volatile reiatsu blasted forth from his palm as he ended the incantation shooting forward into the ocean of neon green.

Kaiyo stopped smiling once Jin released his Zanpaktou; she'd never seen it before but she knew it would be something of interest at the very least. Kaiyo knew there was a time for excitement in any fight; this would usually end about half way through, but her opponent had dropped that figure to the moment he released his Shikai.

Kaiyo had decided she really needed to stay alert Jin was going to use some attack; but the fact she didn't know what only served to make her more excited. The crystal butterfly's sped towards Kaiyo and began to spin around her at an alarming rate; Kaiyo adjusted her stance; she needed to be ready. Sending more of her spiritual energy towards her feet; just in case. A flash of panic flew across her face as the bugs released some kind of green gas; Kaiyo wasn't sure what it was but she knew it burnt. Kaiyo was blinded and in a lot of pain. The gas had completely taken her vision and she could feel it starting to burn her skin. Kaiyo had little choice; still blinded she flash stepped as far back as she could; tumbling backwards as she landed. Her eyes watering Kaiyo could only make out a very blurred image of her surroundings; she was pretty damn pissed.

Kaiyo had been enjoying the fight up until when she realised her arm had been burnt by the gas ; she had raised to when the gas first came out to block it. kaiyo was still on her knees coughing up blood from the damn gas she had inhaled. Kaiyo squinted up as she saw a large blue orb heading towards her; Kaiyo's vision still wasn't great but she could tell that attack would definitely leave a mark if it hit. Kaiyo had few choices, stabbing her Zanpaktou into the ground in front of her she called, 'Denkou Kabe' a familiar golden light appeared in front of her. Kaiyo heard the large crash of colliding energies, the deep blue light and her ultimate line of defence. Kaiyo was still on her knees; blinking a lot to regain her vision.

She saw the electric yellow fade in front of her, Kaiyo stood up steadily she could still only see blurs but she knew she couldn't let that stop her. Kaiyo decided she'd eliminate her current weakness; she shut her eyes. With her Zanpaktou blazing brightly she pulled it out of the ground and took her defensive stance. She'd have to wait to attack; relying on being faster than her opponent she waited; the soft wind blowing the remains of the toxic gas onto her face; eyes shut Kaiyo felt relatively safe.

OOC: kidou pls Very Happy

A pang of guilt shot too the very core of Jin’s being as he watched the small girl roll from the corrosive cloud severely burned on her arm. Putting Kaiyo in pain took a harsher emotional toll on him than he’d expected, but on the other hand if he was too hold back she’d only get pissed off with him……he rubbed the back of his neck his calm demeanour hiding the inner turmoil of his conscious.

“ahhh what a pain” he sighed quietly weighing up his option as he watched the girl shakily rise too her feet, but her troubles weren’t over the flaming blue hadou was still flying toward her straight on target. It was at this point that Jin was able too witness a glimpse of the true potential of the Kaiyo’s Zan-Pak-Tou a dense wall of static flared up before her as she used her lighting imbued Katana too block Jin’s spell, things were becoming interesting.

Kaiyo readied herself moving into a more flexible stance as the wall of lightning dissipated.

It, was time Jin began the next wave of his assault. Flash stepping to Kayo’s left he thrust a finer out in front of himself drawing sprit particles too its tip as the condensed into a white orb, he felt a slight tug at his core as the menial spell put a slight drain on his reiryoku but it was of no consequence but it wasn’t as if he couldn’t spare it,

“Hadou Number 4: Byakurai”

The beam of searing white light shot for the from his fingers tip shooting through the air toward the small female. He fluidly flash stepped upward his being disappearing from sight for a millisecond before appearing up in the sky palm thrust forward it was likely Kaiyo’s speed would allow her to dodge his first low level hadou so e would send in some back up.

“Oh the crescent moon of the lunar eclipse, where one of the purist of light and the shadows of darkness, show me your holy light"

“Hadou number 21: White Lunar Spear Shot”

Once more spirit particles were drawn too him from his surroundings the strain of the spell signalled by slightly sharper tug than the first. The orb before his palm increased in diameter growing by the second before Jin thrust it upward sending it hurtling into the sky. as the hadou reached its peak it stalled for a second in the sky searching for its target before thinning out into a sharp lance and raining down upon Jin’s foe.

((OOC: fighting skill please ^^))

Kaiyo was trying to follow her opponent with her eyes shut; admittedly it hadn't been her best idea but she was definately not going to lose; determination flashed across her face as she smiled again. Kaiyo was relying souley on her senses and she was focusing on detecting Jin's spiritual energy. Kaiyo felt the slight rush of air hit into her; he was above her Kaiyo wasn't sure if he would use Kidou or his Zanpaktou; she couldn't afford to find out. Trying to guess the timings of an attack was hard, but Kaiyo listened as hard as she could; whispers came from above her as she lunged her body backwards; feeling the ground shake slightly as a Kidou spell hit it.

Kaiyo heard four words she really hoped she wouldn't ,'White Lunar Spear shot'; she opened her eyes quickly to see the large up hurtling into the sky; her vision still not perfect Kaiyo stared straight in front of her at Jin, if she could see she would have kicked his ass for being so harsh in a friendly fight; not that she minded too much Kaiyo liked the competition. Kaiyo stood still; she'd have to wait for the very last moment to move, staring at Jin she smirked. Just as the spears got close to her Kaiyo flash stepped past jin; slashing her Zanpaktou along his shoulder as she went.

Kaiyo ground to a halt behind her enemy; she needed to even the playing field; although the idea of having to use her Bankai did appeal to her. Kaiyo took one hand off her Zanpaktou and reversed her grip, rushing towards Jin she swung her Zanpaktou across his body; changing back her grip as she brought it back down at his body; with her free hand Kaiyo had focused her spiritual energy around her fist as she thrust it into Jin's chest at the same time she swung down at his body. One of the attack alone would have been easy to block or dodge but with both attacks Kaiyo figured at least one of them would hit, and she aimed for Jins ribs just in case.

Leaping backwards again Kaiyo blinked a few more times, her vision finally returned she smiled over to Jin; completely ready.
