Kaito had been strolling around the academy area waiting for the vice captain that he had been told would come and evaluate his abilities. They say that this person was the lieutenant of the 11th squad which wasn't exactly a thriller for Kaito since he wasn't into hard work that much and it seemed like that was what this experience would amount to. He scratched his messy hair as he leaned on the wall sighing into the air, "What does this person look like I wonder?" he thought as he looked up at the sky, admiring the clouds as he always had when he got bored. Finally looking back down at his loose-fitting academy robes Kaito prepared himself for whoever it was that he was meeting, but he was pretty bored and uninterested in the whole experience. "I'm only doing this because I have to better myself for graduation..." he told himself, but part of him was interested in seeing the challenge.

Kaiyo ran quickly along the rooftops towards the academy, the blonde girl had forgotten entirely about her meeting with the academy student. Kaiyo had been given a whole folder on Kaito, but she only glanced at the photo that was inside. The blonde girl had been in such a rush she'd nearly forgotten her Zanpaktou, and she had left behind her Lieutenant sash as well. Kaiyo sighed as she skidded around the corner, the shinigami academy had never asked her to analyse a student before and the blonde girl was yet to decide if that was good or bad.

Kaiyo ground to a halt as she entered the academy grounds, changing pace to a cheerful walk as she spotted her guy leaning against the wall and staring up at the sky. The blonde girl tilted her head back to try and see what the fuss was about, Kaiyo grinned as she got closer to Kaito. SHe had put a cap on her spiritual energy so he probably had sensed her yet, 'The sky is really nice today' she beamed. Never one for formalities Kaiyo simply smiled in a welcoming manner and threw a casual salute to the guy, 'Heya, I'm Kaiyo Saiyouko and you must be Kaito'. Like so many times before when she hadn't worn her sash Kaiyo was fully expecting the academy student to not recognise the cute girl as the 11th squad Lieutenant.

Kaito looked at the little girl with a blank stare, actually in truth Kaito was looking over her at the opening area behind her. That was the advantage of being among the taller members of Soul Society, if you were trying to avoid getting lectured all you had to do was look at them. Not that Kaito wasn't interested by the tiny girl in front of him dressed in the traditional shinigami wear because it wasn't long before his gaze returned back to the little girl speaking to him, "She must be the lieutenant if she knows who I am..." Kaito assessed. He stared at the girl quizically, "If you are lieutenant...could you please let me feel that thing everyone talks about...that superior reiatsu I hear the upper seats have?" he asked her.

Kaito was truly intrigued as he continued to observe the girl in front of him and noticed something else, "I thought it was protocol for lieutenants to wear their sashes when on duty" he commented as he pointed at the spot where the sash is supposed to be worn. Then it him that these questions were wasting both his and her time so he quickly added, "After we establish that we should probably get going since putting it off won't decrease the amount of work that will have to be done" he said unenthusiastically.

Kaiyo's cheeks tinted a light red as she looked to the arm she usually wore her sash on, grinning back up to Kaito, 'I forgot it, and yeah we probably should get started' Kaiyo had already decided the kind of guy he would be and the girl had a vague idea of what his fighting style was going to be. Kaiyo unsheathed her Zanpaktou as she walked away from Kaito, the small blonde girl spun around on her heel and grinned. 'Sorry i nearly forgot' she said seetly. Releasing her spiritual energy for a moment before putting a cap back on it; the girl didn't plan on releasing it for the fight.

Kaiyo spun her blade in her hand for a moment before taking her stance, for a second before releaxing it again. Holding her Zanpaktou loosly at her side the blonde girl giggled sligthly, 'So do you know what i'm meant to evaluate?'.

Kaito stared at the little girl with dull eyes as she pulled her sword out, "Oh...no she is one of those busy body types" he cried mentally to himself. Kaito drew out the zanpakutou that was supposed to be part of his soul, although he didn't really feel a connection to it as he looked at the girl, "Well, I heard that you were supposed to evaluate my sword fighting capabilities since they want to send me on a mission to the real world as part of my graduation requirement" he said as he massaged his neck since it was a little stiff. The entire time that they were talking Kaito made sure to watch her body and the manner with which she answered his questions as he tried to figure out what kind of fighter she was. He had a small idea and it didn't look to promising to him if he was right, which he normally was.

Gripping his blade in front of him so that the view of the little girl was split in front of him, Kaito looked at the girl with a dead look in his eyes as he watched her, "Before we start I should tell you that I'm really terrible with a sword" he said without emotion. He sighed in order to let go of some exasperation, "That's why I think this is completely unnecessary, but I want to graduate so I will do it" he finish as he quickly flash stepped behind the lieutenant placing the edge of his blade on her shoulder, "Now then let's do this" he said still with no emotion knowing that he had no advantage in the fight.

((OOC: the rules say you can't flash step until you reach 20 in speed so i'll just go for you ran quickly at me ))

Kaiyo spun on the ball of her foot, leading with her right arm as her Zanpaktou collided easily with Kaito, the two metals colliding with a small chinking of metal on metal as the small girl started smiling. Kaiyo jumped backwards a few feet, nodding at Kaito, 'Okay then, evaluating sword skill, and please don't be so sad, you should at least try to enjoy a friendly sparring session'. Kaiyo shuffled her shoulders for a moment, taking her left hand off her Zanpaktou. The small girl pushed off quickly from her right foot, running with her blade held loosly at the right of her body Kaiyo waited until she got close enough before leaping into the air. The small girl spun down onto Kaito, her blade aiming quickly for his left shoulder. Kaiyo landed elegantly on the floor right in front of Kaito, quickly stepping her right foot at the side of his body and turning around him, throwing a diagonal slash along his back before the girl decided she'd done enough. Jumping backwards had always been a fun event for the small girl, and she liked the feeling of her hair pushing in front of her face before she landed and it flew back.

The girl grinned, 'Now i can start the evaulating thing'

Kaito felt the burning sensation as the little girl's blade cut into this shoulder, "Don't be sad she says..." he managed to spit out through clenched teeth. It wasn't a deep cut, so Kaito tried not to make to much a fuss over the fight. Scratching his head once again Kaito let out another side, "Kaiyo, was it? You really are a lieutenant..." he started to say to the girl, but then he decided to talk as he made his next attack. Dashing at the girl in front of him, he tried to see if there was anyway to overcome the insurmountable amount of fighting skill the girl possessed. Once he got in front of her, Kaito spun dipping the blade into the ground causing the dust to fly up in the air in angry swirls. Upon completing his turn Kaito slashed upward at the lieutenant's shoulder, not expecting the attack to connect. In order to further the chances of it connecting, Kaito threw a sweeping kick at Kaiyo's feet so that she would stumble, bettering his chances of catching her off guard.

"Here we go" Kaito thought miserably to himself.

Kaiyo nodded her appreciation to Kaito as he agreed on her being the Lieutenant. The small girl moved her body as soon as the dust flew around her, it was a good tactic. The fact that neither of them had spoken had really helped as well, the sound of the specs of dust rattling gently against Kaito blade helped the girl block the attack. Stricking her own Zanpaktou upwards against his blade. Kaiyo had been lucky, she hadn't expected the leg sweep, but she was onlt holding her sword with one yhand. The girl was knocked sideways, turning her body in the air as she bounced off her flat palm and skidding along the ground. 'Nice idea with dust' the beamed happily. 'And so far your sword skill's looking good, try to manipulate your opponent more, like purposefully leaving an opening in your attack' kaiyo was almost certain the guy wouldn't pay much attention to her, but if he was being sent to real world some tactics wouldn't go a miss.

Kaiyo yawned, stretching both of her arms high above her head for a moment, 'And thatnks for getting me out of paperwork' she giggled.

Kaito looked at the girl as she calmly thanked him for getting out of doing paperwork, "She really is having fun..." he thought miserably. Tapping his the tip of his blade on the ground he a couple of times Kaito thought about what the girl had said to him about leaving an opening, "I can try something like that later..." he sighed to himself. Walking towards the girl in measured steps Kaito kept his eyes completely on the girl, he didn't even bother blinking as he made his way to her slowly. When he was finally in front of her, Kaito drew his blade so that the back part of the blade against his shoulder. "Kaiyo-san, you seem to avoid coming at me with full strength" he explained as he looked down at the small girl, "I'm holding back as well since I'm not really using kido so feel free to slash at me" he told her as he held his free hand out to the side in order to emphasis his seriousness. "With that said" he said in the same unmotivated voice that he had been using the whole fight as he brought the blade and held it over his head. "Let's finish this" he brought the blade down with all the force that he could muster expecting the girl to counter it by defending with her zanpakutou and then striking him in a counter attack. He was well prepared for that and was hoping that would be the case since he had already come up with a strategy to counter that.

Kaiyo let out a small sigh as Kaito walked closer to him 'If you need to me graduate, then you have to at least fight me'. Kaiyo waited until Kaito's blade was just a few inches from her shoulder before the small girl flash stepped behind him, 'And finishing now wouldn't achieve that', Kaiyo kicked hard in the back on Kaito's leg before jumping backwards. 'But if you want me fight more, then you have to as well'.

Kaiyo's smile had disappeared, the girl was really starting to think she'd have to force a fight out of this guy. Kaiyo let out a long breath of air, releasing her spiritual energy as she did, grinning as she felt the rust of power return through her body, engulfing her senses. Kaiyo hadn't released all of her reaitsu, but about three quarters of it. The girl smirked, keeping her stance, 'I might even show you my Shiaki'

Kaito lurched forth as he stumbled forward from being kicked in the back, "Geez...maybe I should push a little harder" he thought as he sailed through the air. Finally he landed on his face with resounding thud as dirt and grit crawled into his mouth. Instead of getting up right away, Kaito stayed down on the ground trying to decide whether or not he should really bother fighting to get up. Being the one that was at a disadvantage, Kaito didn't know what to think of the situation. Placing his hands on the ground Kaito pushed upwards so that he could at least give the lieutenant something to write about when she went back to the academy board.

With his back to her, Kaito gripped the hilt of his zanpakutou this time with determination because he couldn't have a girl beat him out, "A man shouldn't allow things like this to happen to him" he convinced himself before turning and dashing at Kaiyo once again. Without a word, Kaito planted on his right foot and charging shoulder first came at the little girl. Keeping the blade slightly behind him, Kaito waited until he was just about to make contact with his shoulder before quickly slashing upwards.

Kaiyo's smile grew bigger as Kaito sped towards her, the girl didn't care where it came from, but that he was showed at least some determination. Kaiyo gripped her own blade tighter as he came closer and closer to her, his shoulder nearly touching her as he quickly brought his blade slashing up as her shoulder. Kaiyo smirked, being caught off guard with an attack is always a good thing, the blonde girl casually stepped left. Her right shoulder catching the tip of her shoulder as slow trickle of blood began pouring down her right arm. Kaiyo quickly reversed the grip on her own blade, using Kaito's own speed against him the girl slashed her Zanpaktou horizontally along his back.'Much better' Spinning round in the same motion kaiyo swept her feet across at Kaito's legs, trying to drop him to the ground.

Kaito felt the blade burn into his back as he sailed past the little girl, but again he bit down hard on his teeth as he tried to push the pain away from his immediate thoughts. Finally regained control of his momentum, Kaito put his hands on his knees as he caught his breath. His blade drawn Kaito turned once again to face the lieutenant. "How about I get something straight here, Kaiyo-san" he said before he decided whether or not he was going to keep pushing the fight, "This is really only for graduation so I don't want to take this far too seriously" he explained to her. Finally he took the blade and pointed it at the little girl, "That doesn't mean that we can't have fun though" he said as he dashed towards her once again. He leaped into the air and brought a heavy slash down from above Kaiyo's head, "Still I can't go around hurting girls just so I can graduate" flashed through his mind.

Kaiyo nodded in agreement with Kaito, giggling slightly to herself, as the guy held back simply for the fact he didn't want to hurt a small girl. Kaiyo thought his reasoning noble, and she wished it would work for him, but the girl knew better than that. Kaiyo, moved quickly, shifting the weight of her body behind her Zamnpaktou, one hand on the blade itself as the other the hilt. The girl stared into Kaito's eyes are their swords collided. Kaiyo kept her blade solid in front of her, flowing a bit more of her spiritual energy along it to keep it steady.

Kaito was strong, that much she couldn't deny, and he had more than your average spiritual energy. Instead of staying in their deadlock of who could hold out long, the small girl turned her foot and sent a kick straight to Kaito's gut. Leaping backwards a few metres the girl smiled, 'Lets have some fun then'

Feeling akin to what was an explosion in Kaito's gut from what he could identify as a kick from the girl. Sliding back a few feet, Kaito closed his left eye as he tried to suppress the pain that began to emanate from his stomach, "As I thought...this is more than I had bargained for" Kaito thought as he held his gut. Holding the hilt of his zanpakutou in his right hand, Kaito looked around him and the area to see if there was anything that could be used to his advantage at this point in time. Then he noticed the tree that was over Kaiyo's head, "I suppose with the way things are going it wouldn't hurt..." Kaito contemplated as he began to spin his zanpakutou in his hand. As the zanpakutou continued to spin the momentum increased and Kaito quickly calculated the distance between the tree branch and himself. The spinning blade began to make a whirred sound as it continued to spin, the leaves around him began to twirl around him as well. For some reason Kaito was getting a bit into the battle and his reiatsu began to increase to near its max, "I guess I can't help that" he thought. Finally he launched the spinning blade at the tree branch hanging over Kaiyo's head, cutting loose from the tree. At the same moment that he had thrown the blade Kaito dashed at Kaiyo, attempting to hit her with a punch to the gut with his right hand as he pushed off his right foot to increase the damage to the girl. He figured that she wouldn't see him coming as he paid attention to the fall tree branch. "Sorry, about that Kaiyo-san..." he whispered to the girl.
