It had been awhile since Kaito had practiced any of his kido abilities and he knew that kido would mean that he would have to do less work physically if he ever got into a situation where it would be much easier to use kido, "Just training my hado or bakudo techniques is kind of stupid though, I don't tend to rely on kido...then again I don't wanna have to any fighting either..." Kaito debated lazily with himself. A couple of days ago he couldn't think of anything to do so he decided that today he would go out and work on some kido techniques, but he didn't know exactly how he would train those techniques since it was pretty pointless to fire off some attacks at tree. Laying out in the fields just outside any of the squad barracks, Kaito tried to engineer a plan that would utilize some creative way to train so that he would simply fall asleep in the midst of casting a kido technique, "What to do...what to do..." he slowly said as his eyes begin to droop. Then an idea quickly hit him, "Bingo" he said with open eyes as he stood to his feet. "How better to learn kido than to understand how different kido work together?" Kaito said as he decided which kido he would use first for his training. Finally coming up with an idea Kaito breathed out, "This is gonna be so troublesome..." he thought as he got ready to begin the combination that he had come up with. He began releasing kido energy that encompassed a wide area around him and then he continued to focus on the dispersed into a more refined form, his face twisting in effort Kaito breathed out once more to focus himself. The strands of energy became visible and covered an area of about a 12 meter radius with small flecks, of what looked like bright, orange dust that just floated in the air aimlessly as if it was a natural occurrence. "Now that I have filled the area with kido energy all I have to is focus it into something that I can actually use..." he said as he clenched his teeth and lifted his arms out to the side of him so that it looked as if he were a cross. The energy seemed to start to come closer to each other and then they particles of kido energy came together, molding themselves into what looked like a net made of kido. "Bakudo # 12, Ambush Flare" Kaito said in a controlled voice that indicated that he wasn't impressed with his feat. Bringing his arms from the side to the front of him so that his palms were facing the straight in front of him, Kaito began to focus his reiatsu, yet again into another kido spell. His shinigami robes rippled in the air as the reiatsu levels continued to increase, even the grass seemed to sway more and more as Kaito concentrated on the next kido he was going to use for his training. Quickly raising his arms skyward Kaito called out, "Bakudo # 14, Oil Slick" and instantly a torrent of oil exploded from his hands and into the sky, but none of it fell on Kaito. Narrowing his eyes, Kaito watched as the oil splashed onto the invisible Ambush Flare that he had just used and he couldn't help, but smile because of how awesome the combo was. "Even though the effect of invisibility is lost because of the oil this is a nice combo to use because the power that it potentially has..." Kaito assessed the combination that he was developing, "...furthermore I wouldn't use Oil Slick until after the person was captured in my Ambush Flare..." Kaito smiled again at the last part. Returning back into his level of concentration Kaito felt his way through the technique to see how efficiently coated the Ambush Flare was and once he was sure of its coating Kaito raised his hand once more. Lifting his right arm into the air, Kaito braced himself for the impending result of all the effort that he had just put into the kido, "Hado # 3, Crimson Strike" he said in a even tone. A single beam of energy shot up into the net and instantly ignited the oil which spread throughout the entire net; before Kaito knew it he was standing in an inferno that was blazing hot, "Definitely wouldn't try something like that at a barbecue..." Kaito joked half-heartedly. In the spot that he was in, he was safe because the Ambush Flare was designed so that it wouldn't ensnare him as well, "This is an excellent way to rid myself of weak to mid level opponent, but as far as stronger opponents would go...I probably wouldn't use this if I were trying to end things quickly..." he assessed the scenario. Scratching his head and breathing out, Kaito put the flames out using his kido; he was intrigued because in truth the combination used very little reiatsu in his case and it provided alot of upscale advantage in terms of combat usefulness. Sitting down in the grass Kaito laid down since he had done some of the training that he had set out to do, although he knew that he had much more training to do before he was anywhere near ready to call himself proficient in the use of kido. "Man, I wonder what other painful training I'm going to have to go through to get this kido business down..." he complained to himself. He looked once again at the sky, that was his inspiration and then a startling thought came to his head, "Is that the reason that I want to live? To become strong enough so I am as free as the clouds themselves...?". Smiling, Kaito pondered whether or not such a reason even made logical sense as he dozed off into a nap. _________________

After his brief break from practicing his combination with the Ambush Flare, Oil Slick, and Crimson strike kido techniques, Kaito decided that it was time that he began working on a new combination involving higher level kido techniques. "Now...effective kido techniques that would not disrupt each others battle potential...ideally I would want them to be able to enhance their capabilities, but simply working together is a start" Kaito pondered. He was sitting on the trunk of a tree trying to figure out which of the kido techniques that he could use would qualify for such a combination, not that he even knew enough to come up with something like that. Scratching his chin as he contemplated the best kido combo that he could come up with, Kaito suddenly had an idea hit him, "That might actually work and the time frame would be shorter than the last..." he thought. Pushing himself off the tree trunk, Kaito began to mentally prepare himself for the combination he was about to use and he knew this one would exert a lot more effort than the first one he had attempted. After stretching his muscles and warming up so that he could shake off the remnants of sleep from his being, Kaito breathed out and focused himself as he visualized how the kido techniques would mesh together without interfering with each other's power. Once he established in his mind how they could possibly fit together Kaito began the focus reiatsu and channel it throughout his being as he chanted, "Though firearms are often considered weapons of those too lazy to fully devote their attention to true martial art...I will make an exception for you. The end...justifies the means, Hado # 38, Cannon of the Just" he finished. The immediate exertion from the kido technique hit Kaito with surprising fault as he broke into a cold sweat, but otherwise he was fine and he began to focus on calling forth the powerful cannon that was part one of his combination. Compressing the kido energy into gate that would release the cannon was the hardest part of using the technique as far as Kaito could tell; despite his concentration he was still having a little trouble drawing forth the cannon from its abyss. With one finally effort Kaito managed to bring the cannon into fruition as a black hole opened behind him and the massive, gleaming cannon rolled out on its own accord, "Well...that's...just...grand..." Kaito panted quickly trying to regain his breath. Nodding as he quickly set his stance once again, Kaito began to gather up his spiritual energy once again allowing it to surge around him in rushing torrents, "Let mine enemies feel thy burning heat! Let them feel despair at your foreboding clouds! 'Let them die cursing your speed, Hado # 40, Lightning Strike" he said as he gathered reiatsu into the tip of his finger and pointed it to the sky. A lighting shot of reiatsu burst forth from Kaito's skyward facing finger and it was immediately absorbed by a passing cloud which was exactly what Kaito had intended, but now he had to move quickly in order to make the combo work. Focusing on the tree that he had chosen as his target for this combination he returned his focus to the cannon that sat behind him and began flowing reiatsu into it quickly so that it would begin charging for its attack. While he was trying to maintain control over the cannon, Kaito also looked up to see whether the cloud that was the linchpin to his entire combo was in position yet and he saw that it would only be a matter of seconds so he continued forcing reiatsu into the cannon. The time came and the lightening from the Hado # 40 came crashing down at incredible speed; directly upon the cannon that Kaito had been filling up with reiatsu. The lightening surged as it struck the cannon, but Kaito had focused his reiatsu so that rather than destroying the cannon the brunt of the power that was contained by the lightening strike was now absorbed by the reiatsu that was filling the cannon. Kaito smiled as he felt the cannon beginning to crackle with the energy that was rattling around inside of it angrily as if it a nest of wasps, "This should prove to be quite the interesting combination; there's really no telling how much damage it will do" he thought. He continued to pour in more of his reiatsu to ensure that the attack would have maximum power and once he felt that there was no more power that could be compressed into the cannon, he released it. An energy ball of reiatsu with lightning flowing out of it shot over Kaito's head and he immediately began to make preparations for the last part of his combination which luckily for him was the easiest part of his combination since he wasn't sure if he could have sustained anymore big kido techniques at the moment. As the ball of reiatsu passed him, Kaito raised both his arms with his palms facing outward and said in a commanding voice over the noise of the attack, "Hado # 1, Thrust". Staggering a little from the large amount of reiatsu that he had just spent, Kaito placed his hands on his knees as he watched the last kido spell cause the lightening ball of reiatsu to accelerate beyond its initial speed which would help increase the amount of damage that it would do. Everything around him seemed to go silent as Kaito watched the ball sail with vicious speed at the tree; he was almost sure that the impending damage would be enough to blow a huge crater in the clearing. As the ball of reiatsu crashed into the tree it sounded as if the lightening had first ripped off the bark of the tree before the reiatsu itself had blasted the tree to bits and as Kaito had predicted the resulting blast was enormous. In fact it was so enormous that it that the shock wave from the blast threw the weakened Kaito off his feet and onto this face which didn't make him to happy, but he didn't move because he didn't want any debris to strike him in the face. Once everything had cleared up, Kaito made his way to his feet and walked over to the damage area so that he could get a closer look at the level of destruction that had taken place; what he saw was a crater that was as big as one quarter of a football field which didn't leave much room for him to sleep on a tree. "...Pain in the ass technique blew up my resting spot..." he murmured as he lay down in the grass staring up angrily at the sun. _________________

(Kido please. Thank you judges.) Kaito's understanding of kido had grown dramatically since he had decided to begin this training and he felt as if the usage of kido now was slowly becoming a large part of his combat arsenal which meant he would need to exert less effort than had he had to fight using a blade. "...It's my style to simply bind an opponent anyway..." he thought as he began trying to come up with another idea for a kido combination that would work in a collaboration plan. His last two techniques were kido that were mainly used for an assault which in most cases Kaito would only use when he was trying to end a fight quickly, but it didn't change the fact that he needed to come up with some more defensive strategies. As he sat in the grass cross-legged attempting to come up with such a combination he began to wonder why he would even need a defensive combination like that, "With my speed, there's no reason I couldn't just avoid the attack" he assumed. The more he strained on the thought though, the more he realized that kido such as Oil Slick would counteract his fast movement leaving him vulnerable to attacks. He got up from his seated position and decided that it was time that he make his move to begin the 3rd day of the kido collaboration training that he had decided to start, but he didn't exactly know what to expect unlike his last two attempts to perform the techniques. Closing his eyes and placing his arms in front of him, but crossed at the wrist area, Kaito began to gather a large amount of his reiatsu so that he could convert it into kido energy, "Though the spider failed to ensnare you, the cat is far more cunning. Rock to sleep in his cradle, Bakudo # 46, Cat's Cradle..." he said as he gathered the kido energy into his arms. The threads of kido shot out of his right arm into the area in front of him, but Kaito didn't want them to land on anything in particular since he need to cast another kido in conjunction with it so that it would work. Spreading his feet even wider, Kaito began focusing his reiatsu towards the next level of the kido training that he was going to be using. "The frozen tundras hold countless corpses- the forgotten dead, fallen in battles long ago. Now I summon a brave warrior to fight once more, Bakudo # 50, Frigid Skeletal Prison" he whispered as the duress of using such high level kido at the same time began to take its toll upon him. Clenching his teeth he once again allowed the kido energy to flow through him as he attempted to summon the powerful cage that would surround the target that he had set out in front of him. Breathing hard he attempted to churn out as much reiatsu as he could which in the end finally proved to a be a fruitful venture as the skeletal cage appeared over the tree that he had set out to be his target and dropped upon it moments before the Cat's Cradle threads wrapped themselves around the tree trunk. Kaito breathing had increased in rate dramatically and he knew that his work would be even harder because he was no forced to cast the rest of his kido with one hand because the Cat's Cradle still required the use of his right hand along with a large part of his concentration and reiatsu to use. Unlike last time the last kido of the collaboration technique training that Kaito was implenting was a bit high on the list for him and he knew that even with his reiatsu being as strong as it was that it was going to be a challenge for him to complete. Raisin his left arm out to the side so that he wouldn't accidentally expel any of the kido energy that he was gathering for the combination into the other two spells potentially ruining them, "...Concentrate...this last one is going to be a knock out just like the others..." he said through clenched teeth. A bead of sweat rolled down his right cheek as the air around him began to waver with kido energy and the area immediately around his left arm was glowing with an intense blue light. "Rise from the bowels of the earth and trample thine enemies with your weight, Ancient, Hado # 44, Stone Tablet of the Ancients" he said with his face twisting from the strain of the kido sucking reiatsu out of him and he even began to get worried that he wouldn't have the power required to use the kido. Luckily he was wrong and he knelt down so that he could thrust his palm into the ground sending little waves of blue reiatsu echoing through the ground and making its way to were the tree had been trapped by the other kido. A giant outline of a Rosetta stone was traced into the ground by the reiatsu just behind the cage and once the outlining was done, Kaito raised his palm upward which in turn caused the stone to stand erect as it towered over the cage. Kaito's breathing by now had truly become heavy, but he knew that he could handle using three high level kido simultaneously and it didn't really matter at this point anyway since his combination had, but one more step to it before it was finally complete. "This is going to make one helluva sealing method..." Kaito thought as then waved his arm forward and the stone tipped over in the direction of the cage finally crashing down upon it with a resounding boom that caused debris to fly everywhere and almost knocked Kaito over. Once he had finished Kaito dropped onto his butt from the exertion of trying to maintain control of all those high level kido at once, but even though he was tired he was happy to see that his ingenuity hadn't gone to waste. Dosing off into sleep, Kaito thought of another combination that he could do that would help in a defensive manner since this one not only required a lot of time, but it also required a huge amount of reiatsu as well. _________________

Since Kaito had been working so adamantly upon the collaboration of different kido he had gained a better understanding of how kido techniques fit together so that their powers were enhanced rather than being disrupted by each other's presence. He had awoken to the nice breeze blowing over his body in the clearing in which he had done much training in order to advance himself, but he was happy to see that he wasn't as tired or even sore from the kido training as he thought that he would have been. He stood up deciding to work on mid level kido so that he could perform them without the incantation which took time and also served to the opponent's interests at times, "I should obviously start with a kido that I can perform repeatedly without suffering from a huge loss in terms of fatigue..." he thought. Since he had come back from the mission where he had to fight against the Quincy and was forced to witness the power of the 2nd squad lieutenant's bankai, Kaito had become more consistent with his training. For some reason, Kaito felt that it was his duty to obtain more strength so that he could protect those that he desired to protect and on the same hand fight against those that he wanted to fight against; Ryouta Aname was one of those people that he wanted to fight. Shaking these thoughts from his head he focused himself as he first decided which kido technique that he would work upon and then how he would train the kido technique in the first place since he believed that he should be able to perform under any circumstance. He decided that the first step would be to choose his kido technique since he was having trouble coming up with one at the moment, "I think it would be best to learn how to use the kido technique, Soukatsui until I can use it without its incantation..." he decided. With that decision made, Kaito hurriedly picked his target which was not a tree this time, but a large boulder that was even bigger than one of the buildings in his squad barracks which made him smirk a bit. Raising his right hand at the boulder Kaito began to chant so that he could begin the training that would allow him to become a more effective shinigami, "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws..." he started as he gathered a large amount of reiatsu into his hand. "Hado # 33, Soukatsui" he shouted as his hand suddenly became lit up with reiatsu and a blue flame erupted out of his palm and headed towards the boulder in an impressive show of destructive power, "It has gotten stronger since the last time..." he thought. His eyes were opened slightly in surprise as he stared out how powerful a kido technique he had produced at the moment, but then his eyes narrowed once again as he realized that he hadn't melted the boulder which should have been his goal. He was definitely proud of the progress that he had made as a shinigami, but at the same time he wasn't satisfied with the fact that he hadn't been able to melt the boulder with the heat from his Soukatsui attack so he took his stance once more. As he closed his eyes in an attempt to better work the reiatsu through his body in order to use the kido to a more effective level, Kaito caught flashes of the lieutenant beating all the twins with his bankai in a second. Kaito didn't want a rival, but he couldn't help thinking that the lieutenant was one of the obstacles that stood in the way of him finding out the reason that he had been fighting for so he continued to focus even harder upon gathering reiatsu. This time instead of hurriedly pointing his hand at the boulder, Kaito slowly raised it as he channeled the maximum amount of kido energy that he could into the palm that was being raised into the air readying himself for the second attempt of the kido attempt. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws...Hado # 33, Soukatsui" he shouted again as he released the pent up kido energy. This time when he realized the power of the kido it felt better and more under his control as it rushed towards the boulder, but this time Kaito wasn't as concerned with the result as he was with the feeling of familiarity that came with using the technique. "I see, so using a kido technique not only is based upon the knowledge of one's usage of the technique, but it also relies upon the user's mastery of kido in general..." he thought to himself. Deciding to make one last attempt at melting the rock before taking another rest, Kaito breathed out as he centered himself making him more receptive to the kido energy that he was readying himself to channel throughout his being. He adjusted his feet slightly hoping that it would improve his kido if only by a little bit, "I hope that this time my body positioning will make the power of the kido go up..." he thought as he began gathering more kido energy in his right palm in his new stance. His shikakushou began to flap around him as the edges of his clothing began to glow with a blueish tint, but Kaito paid no attention to this phenomenon as the reiatsu showed in flashes in his head which was how he gauged how much power he had in his attack. Once he had reached the threshold that he had been looking for Kaito shouted out loud, "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws...Hado # 33, Soukatsui!". This time unlike the other two times, Kaito's kido didn't erupt in a wave of wanton kido energy in many directions rather it sailed into the air in a single ball of destructive force and crashed into the boulder. Kaito smiled as he placed his hands in his pocket and turned back towards the forest where he could find a place to rest; he didn't even need to look at the boulder to know that it was smoldering intensely from the blast of power from his new found level of strength. _________________

(Kido Mastery please. Thank you judges) Kaito readied himself for his first practice in the art of Kido in awhile; it wasn't that he didn't like using kido, but at the same time he didn't want to have to take the effort of having to learn difficult kido techniques that were in truth quite complicated. Sighing as he walked out into a private clearing that he had slowly made his own personal area of training, "Damn...I wonder what kido I should focus upon here...I think I am going to make myself familiar with a binding kido quite frankly" he decided. Wondering what kido he would chose though was an entirely different matter that he didn't even want to consider since it would require him to continue thinking about a tedious subject; something that he didn't want to put up with. Shifting his feet so that stood shoulder width apart, Kaito decided that he would perfect his usage of Bakudo # 62, Hundred Stepped Fence. Since he first became capable of using it the young shinigami had thought that its fighting possibilities were pretty versatile, something which he believed that all fighting skills should be. Deciding that the first thing he was going to do was to maximize the amount of opponents that he could immobilized while using the technique, Kaito quickly tried to come up with the quickest way to create multiple targets for him to capture. Rolling the blowpipe from one side of his mouth to the other as he ran his hand through his messy black hair, he tried to sort out ideas that seemed highly probable from the ones that seemed as if they would expend far too much energy for him to use at once. Once he figured, or more aptly put, once he finally decided upon what kind of method he should use to train the first step of the kido, Kaito closed his eyes and focused his reiatsu, "Kido...can really be such a pain in the ass to learn..." he thought as reiatsu began to flow through the air. Opening his eyes again, it was easy to see by anyone who was passing by that the young man was not at all into the training that he was about to begin. "Bakudo # 44, Illusionary Clones" he said with a bored, sarcastic tone to his voice as suddenly the six images of himself appeared on either side of him. Although the clones had no reiatsu within them it was possible to manipulate the technique so that each of the clones moved independently of one another which was quite useful when escaping since Kaito was good at hiding his reiatsu. Making the clones take off in a sprint in multiple directions, Kaito sighed as he gave the clones sometime to get away from him so that it wouldn't be such an easy task for him to hit all the marks without actually having to put some effort in. Finally after a couple of seconds, the young shinigami leaped into the air and raised his right hand out the side as he began to concentrate reiatsu into which after he gathered he in a low voice said, "Bakudo # 62, Hundred Stepped Fence". A rod of spirit force appeared in the palm of Kaito's hand and he grasped it firmly as readied himself to hurl the rod in such a way that all the clones would be struck by them, but he didn't know whether he really had the skill for such a thing. Shaking his head as he began to fall back towards the ground, he decided that wasting time thinking about it would do no good so he cocked his body slightly to the left and then quickly whipped his arm forward as he threw the rod into the surrounding trees. The clones were hiding amonst the trees which made it hard for Kaito's binding kido to hit, but he figured that as long as he maintained a certain degree of concentration some of the rods could be manipulated to hit specific targets; that was his theory. The rod that Kaito had thrown finally divided as it broke through the canopy layer of the tree and Kaito immediately tried to lock on to some of the rods that had separated from the main one so that he could direct them towards the clones. With his eyes still closed in concentration Kaito managed to nudge a small number of rods around a tree and through the center of a clone, but that was the most he could manage before breaking his concentration. Landing in a crouched position, Kaito saw that out of the six clones that he had made, only two of them had been struck by the bakudo that he had tried to hit them with, "Geez...I'm really miserable at this technique after all..." he said as he scratched his head. Leaping into the air with such speed that it looked as if he had flash stepped up into the sky, Kaito back flipped as he focused reiatsu into his hand once again for a couple of seconds before calling out, "Bakudo # 62, Hundred Stepped Fence". Spirit energy solidified itself in the form of a rod much quicker than it had before and this time Kaito was a bit more determined to strike more clones than he had before as he righted himself in mid air so that he was rightside-up now. Cocking his right arm which held the rod in his hand, Kaito threw the rod with as much force as he could muster so that it sped down into the first like a missile attack dropping into the forestry below, but this time he was well prepared. Gathering his mind and wits together, Kaito forced multiple rods around trees when they most certainly have hit the tree had he not taken control of them and furthermore the rods he did control landed close to a clone. By the time all the rods had finished falling Kaito had broken a small sweat from concentrating so much when he landed to see the fruits of his training. Biting his lip, the young shinigami cursed, "Dammit..." as he saw that he had still only managed to hit about three of the six clones that he had originally attempted strike, "This is going to take alot more control with kido than I had thought..." he figured as he shook his head. _________________
