Kaiyo was bored, she'd spent all the previous day finally doing her paperwork, and now she was bored. The blonde girl had woken up early to go for a run, smiling up at the sky as the gently breeze flew past her face, her cheeks tinting a rosy red the small Lieutenant came to a halt outside the Shinigami Academy.

With slightly bated breath Kaiyo hopped onto the nearby wall, leaning back on it as she swung her legs freely in the air, she had a free day and nothing to do, almost everyone else she knew was busy, certain squads had assessments going on, people were on missions, and Kaiyo was bored.

Kaito had been hiding out by the Academy where he had graduated early from sitting in a tree. He was blowing into his blowpipe and watching as the smoke that rose from the mouth made its epic escape into the air. The wind blew softly as it gently lifted his messy hair out his eyes, this coupled with the generous warmth that the sun was offering made Kaito happy that he had ditched the lieutenant to just relax. Through most of this, Kaito had kept his eyes closed as he was enjoying nature's seeming acceptance of him for once when he just happened to glance down and see a certain lieutenant that he hadn't seen in awhile. Leaping from the tree, the young third seat landed in on her left side, "Yo, Kaiyo-san. You enjoying the nice whether while ditching your responsibilities as well?" he asked candidly. He was happy to have run into her since she was the one that gave him his life as a shinigami, something that he more than just casually appreciated.

Ryouta was busy enjoying one of his rare off days when he sensed two familiar reiatsus nearby. I should go say hi, he thought. I haven't spoken to Kaiyo-san in ages... But first- Ryouta headed off to a nearby bar. He exited the bar carrying two cups, a fairly large bottle of sake, and a glass.

He approached Kaito and Kaiyo with impeccable grace and offered her the milkshake in the glass. "Thought I'd drop by since I felt two friendly reiatsus- I haven't spoken to ya in ages, Kaiyo-san!" Ryouta also nodded his head at Kaito. He gestured to the cups he was holding, offered one to Kaito, and shook the bottle suggestively. "Y'guys have time for a little...'recreation?'" With practiced ease, he uncapped the sake bottle with his teeth and poured himself a drink, quickly and easily downing it. "I love my off days," he said happily.

Kioshi was enjoying his morning walk when he saw three shinigami talking. Kioshi hadn't really met anyone yet so he figured he should go talk to them. Kioshi began to walk to them, when he was close enough he said "hello" then leaned against the wall.

Ryouta greeted the newcomer cheerfully. "Hi, I dunno ya, but I'm sure I will in a bit; sake tends t'help that along..." His face fell slightly. "I only have two cups...think ya can waterfall a little from the bottle?" He shook the still mostly full bottle.

Kioshi laughed "well i'm not much of a drinker anyways"

Kaiyo smiled with a pleasant surprise as she leapt down from her comfy seat on the wall and flung her arms around Kaito, 'Heya, and yeah i finally got a day off!' she replied with a hit of pride in her voice, 'i hear your going for Lieutenant?' she quizzed Kaito.

Kaiyo slowly turned her neck sideways as a pink coloured glass appeared in front of her, her eyes slowly tracing up the milkshake to Ryouta. 'Ryouta!' she cheered gleefilly, sneakily swiping the milkshake from his hand the small girl simply sat down, leaning against the wall. It was normal for Ryouta to have some Sake, but Kaiyo had learnty various times, she really wasn't a drinker.

Greeting once more a newcomer the blonde girl threw them a casual salute, smiling at Kioshi. 'nice to meet ya, I'm Kaiyo Lieutenant of 11th Division' she beamed happily. Returning once more to her large glass of milkshake. 'So how has everyone been? I missed everyone' she mused out loud, unable to help sounding slightly upset at the end of her sentence, but in her usual manner she shrugged it off with a cheesy grin. 'Thanks Ryouta' she mumbled, slurping her milkshake again.

"Mmhmm, no problem, I remembered ya don't like sake," he said. And then, as if fearing he was being rude, said to the newcomer, "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ayame Ryouta, Nibantai fukutaichou."

He turned to Kaiyo again. "And I haven't really been up to anythin'. No real hiccups in Soul Society, or the Real World. I did have a spar with Kaito-san though. He's gonna be a Captain soon, I bet. Me...I'm willin' to take my time on that particular position, hehehe."

Ryouta poured himself another cup of sake and downed it. "Man, this stuff is strong. I'll tip the bartender more next time." He smiled. "And what've ya been up to yaself? Kickin' Hollow tail?"

"Hello Ryouta, i'm Kioshi Kou, and nice to meet you to Kaiyo" Kioshi said as he stood up

"Geez...everyone seems so excited..." Kaito thought as he looked up at the sky while fading away from the conversation around him, but then he remembered that Kaiyo had asked him a question. He didn't feel like interrupting anyone so he waited until the new shinigami whose name was Kioshi or something of the sort finished speaking before he responded to Kaiyo, "Yea, looks like I'm going to end up taking over that troublesome position..." he said unenthusiastically. Looking at the drink that Ryouta had handed him the young shinigami knew that he wasn't of age to be drinking sake since even by human years he was still a fledgling, "Whatever..." he shrugged his shoulders and took a swig. The world began to spin in front of him as everyone's faces blurred together and Kaito felt himself stagger as the sake took its effect upon dropping him to the ground with rosy cheeks.

"Is he gunna be ok?" Kioshi asked while pointing to the shinigami lying on the ground "It looks like he's down for the count"

Kaiyo laughed lightly at Kaito, for a guy with ambition he really was the laziest Shinigami she had ever met, and apparanately about as good at handling his drink as she was. Gently placing her glass down on the ground Kaiyo nodded up to Ryouta, 'And paperwork, my Captain doesn't like it and i hate it so i had to finish it all off yesterday' she mumbled, the matter of the fact was that by finishing Kaiyo had to finally unlock the cupboards stacked high with paperwork she had never dared touch.

Leaning forwards so her hair tickled her cheek she prodded Kaito gently, 'Ryouta your always gettin people drunk' she giggled jokingly at her friend. Leaning back again as she rested her hands on the ground behind her Kaiyo crained her neck towards Kioshi, 'So, erm, what are you doing here?' she puzzled to the stranger. The question asked by most would have seemed rude, but it was a well known fact that Kaiyo was simply always pleasant and friendly with others, well, most of the time.

Kioshi looked up to Kaiyo from the drunk shinigami and said "Well I was on my morning walk and I saw some people talking. I decided I should meet them, seeing as I haven't really met anyone yet"

Although Kaito had passed out he was somewhat aware of the conversations that were going on above him, but he was too lazy to actually get up and say anything to anyone. In exchange he simply replied from his face down position, "I'm *hiccup* okay...somewhat *hiccup*...sake is very good though *hiccup* *hiccup*" he said as he continued to lay flat on his face. The young shinigami sighed because he wanted to stare at the clouds, but in his current position that was utterly impossible so he simply closed his eyes. "Ryouta-san...*hiccup* don't you think that it's bad you gave alcohol to a minor though *hiccup*?" Kaito asked as his eyes continued to droop. "Ah...the grass is so soft...I could just shirk off my duties all day..." Kaito told himself as he drifted off into his mind once again.

Ryouta chuckled at Kaiyo's comment. "So? It's fun- and people tend to loosen up and be themselves when they're drunk."

And at Kaito's slight remonstration, he shrugged. "Not really. Ya're a Shinigami, your spiritual power is high; ya'll be back on your feet in no time."

He turned back to Kaiyo. "Yeah, I know what ya mean about th' paperwork. Man...ya have no idea what we have to deal with sometimes. Confidential missions have to be covered up, crime scenes need to be swept clean; it's a pain." He smiled broadly. "Have ya had time to get some trainin' in?"

ooc: anyone else think a fight with all of us vs kaito (once he's sobered up) is a good idea?
