Kaiyo stood with her legs parallel to her shoulders, holding her glinting Zanpaktou with her right hand as she flicked her wrist upwards, the Katana spinning quickly in the air before Kaiyo caught it back in her hand. Granted it wasn't the most productive use of her time, but it was useful, it gave her a good feel for the weight of her Zanpaktou, which she always found useful, and fun to watch it spin of course.

Kaiyo threw her Zanpaktou once more, sliding her feet to the right as she caught the katana neatly with her left hand this time. grinning as she sheathed it back into it's light blue scabbard. Kaiyo hadn't been doing much all day, she'd gone for a run earlier, and decided she'd try some training. Rukongai ground was different to the normal ground of Sereitei, it was dustier, almost like sand, it made cool patterns in the dust when you moved. Kaiyo jumped into the air, bringing her knees up towards her body before landing in a crouched position. Giggling at how funny she just looked Kaiyo spun around on her left foot, unsheathing her Zanpaktou as she did, extending her arm so the tip of her blade was just a few centimetres from the bark of the tree.

Not only was the current field very large and empty, but it had recently been bought by the soul reaper academy, which meant it had plenty of practice dummies and targets scattered around. Being a Lieutenant meant it hadn't taken much effort to book out the field for the day, although she did have to agree to take a Zanjutsu class.

The air was oddly still, with no breeze the small stones simply rattled quietly when Kaiyo jumped on the ground, small swirling clouds of dust appearing around her feet. Kaiyo flipped the sword around her hand, changing to a reverse grip as she spun around stepping forwards with her left foot, bringing her right arm around after her body as she released her sword, the glinting blade shooting straight through the air and stabbing into the centre of a nearby target. Kaiyo smiled, bounding along after to pick up her blade. The girl paused, her hand hovering over the handle of her Zanpaktou before she sensed a nearby reaitsu.

Kuro walked up beside Kaiyo, placing his hand on her shoulder and leaning over to look her in the face. "Hiya Kaiyo-chan!" Kuro let go of her shoulder and walked forward a few feet before turning around. Kuro took a deep breath. "Ok, I will admit that this is hard for me to ask for... Could you help me work on my speed and how to... Sword-fight?" Kuro looked down, his face becoming a bit flustered. "It is fine if you do not want to help me out... I mean... I could bug Kaito, but we have been friends longer... And I feel kinda closer to you... So lessons with you came first in my mind." Kuro looked at her, "So what do you say Kaiyo?"

(Yes it is short, but it was just him requesting the lessons. So yeah... It sucks XP)

Kaiyo tilted her head at Nerdy chan, a large smile grew across her face as he spoke, the pint sized Lieutenant nodded her head happily, 'Sure sure, i'll help ya nerdy chan'. Kaiyo pulled her sword out from the target and sheathed it back up. The blonde girl glanced up and down at nerdy chan, the guy didn't look weak at all, but he wasn't the usual kind of build Kaiyo was used to help training. The girl smiled. 'Hmmm, okay try this' Kaiyo placed her hands on Nerdy chan's shoulders and pushed he backwards gently, unsheathing his sword for him as she placed it in his right hand and took a step back. 'Okay, only using right hand, and not moving you feet, you gotta block my attacks'.

Kaiyo drew out her own Zanpaktou and held it in her right hand, nodding slowly at nerdy chan before she let loose with a barrage of slashes, starting with a few jabs and swipes straight in front of nerdy chan, then eventually moving around, 360. Kaiyo wasn't flash stepping, but she wasn't moving slowly either, the attacks would be hard to block, and helpful to train with. After about 10 minutes Kaiyo jumped backwards, letting out a puff of air as she grinned. 'How we doing?'

(It is the first time I have said this in a long time... but this is for fighting skill.)

Kuro grabbed his zanpaktou with one hand, and for the first time he realized how beautiful it was. He had never really looked at it before. He say as the hilt was a golden crow spreading its wings, as if it was flying, and the way the blade gleamed even though the metal was solid black. He grinned, "I have to give the old man some credit... But he makes an amazing sword." Kuro looked up as she began swinging. Kuro tried his best, and succeeded in blocking the blows. Again and again she swung, her blade bashing into his. Sparks flew from the clashing metal, brushing his face as flew wherever they pleased. Kuro watched as she made a three-sixty around him. He did his best to swing around and counter the sword, but when the blades clashed his blade ricocheted back crashing into his shoulder. Kuro leaped back and began rubbing his shoulder. "I guess I am doing fine... But I am starting to see beauty in sword-fighting. I know I will never be an expert.. Though there is something I wanted to try..." Kuro raised his blade, putting his other hand behind his back. "I saw some nobles do this before, as I was running errands..It is some foreign style of sword-fighting... I think they called it fencing..." Kuro lounged forward with the blade aiming it at her chest.

(Sorry for it being short... I typed this up in 15min before I headed out to school.)

((OOC: okay i've only ever done fencing like once and i know nothing about it so bear with ;P))

Kaiyo smiled and nodded her head, the blonde girl had been given the fun task not so long ago to learn various fighting styles, and while she would never proclaim herself a fencing master, she figured she could remember the basics. Kaiyo stepped her left foot backwards, keeping her wrist straight as she moved her right hand out in front over her body slightly, her shiny blade clinking as it met Nerdy chan's. Kaiyo smiled weakly.

'Fencing....' Kaiyo tilted her head in thought for a moment before her body jurked back into animation and she jumped forwards to nerdy chan, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, i think i remember fencing'. Kaiyo reached forwards and adjust nerdy chans grip on his sword, changing hers also. 'Okay, basic fencing stance is called, en guarde' she giggled, demonstrating cheerfully before standing back up straight. Kaiyo cleared her throat and stepped to the side of Nerdy chan so she could check he was doing it properly, 'Front toes pointing straight forward towards your opponent , or where i was standing at least. Back foot is about a foot length behind front foot, with both heels in the same line. Back toes pointing at 90 degrees to front toes . Bend your Knees, relax your shoulders, sword out resting in attack position with your arm at about chest height.' Kaiyo paused for a moment to make sure Nerdy chan had it all sorted, 'Sword arm's elbow is about a hand's distance in front of your side. Back arm is held so that the elbow is at the same level as your front elbow, and your back hand is resting about shoulder high.' Kaiyo grinned, 'And look up'.

Kaiyo bounced back in front of nerdy chan and smiled, 'Usually they have different swords though' she puzzled out loud.

(I fence alot irl.. So your description had me falling out of my chair laughing. My swordfighting irl is actually a combination of Kendo and Fencing... It is hard to actually fence with a katana. XP I guess another shot at fighting skill. Hopefully the way I set this up will make it a bit easier to post.)

Kuro laughed at her description. "Kaiyo-chan... I have read books I know the basic structure of how to fence... I just need help incorporating it in battle...." Kuro turned away from her and walked up to the tree. He held the sword in a fencing position. "You see..... I have plans for these techniques... As I will show you... Way of Destruction #33 Blue Fire Crash Down!" Kuro jabbed the blade into the tree, as blue energy gathered at the tip. Just as the blade pierced into the tree the large wave of energy shot from the tip. Kuro tilted his back looking straight at Kaiyo, the tree falling over as wood-chips began to rain. Kuro let out a long sigh, "Breaking through their guard... And then using a powerful kidou... All within a matter of seconds... I find it a useful strategy... Though I need to be able to get to them with the blade first." Kuro raised his blade, stabbing forward against Kaiyo's blade. The blades slide against eachother, minor sparks flew into the air. "I know you are the best sword-fighter in Seireitei... So... Share your experience... Help me become one capable with a sword." Kuro pushed her sword to the side, jabbing the hilt of the blade into her chest. The hilt possibly stabbed into her, for the crow's head stuck out a bit. It was most-likely going to feel like a minor scratch to her. Kuro raised his foot kicking Kiayo back. Kuro jumped back a few feet and squatted down, his left hand on the ground. "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws. Way of Destruction #33 Blue Fire Crash Down!" The reiastu gathered in the palm of his left hand blasting off onto the ground. The force of the blast shot Kuro forward towards Kaiyo at an incredibly fast speed. As he shot at her his blade was aimed straight for her, ready to pierce her chest.

Good job so far guys, but try not to forget the actual adding of the fighting part of it rather than the explanation and talking about swords haha...just hinting here...you don't have to listen to me...please do though...haha

((OOC: xD i know ya do nerdy chan that's why i damn near cried at your suggestion lol now we've established i know bugger all....i'm hoping we can move on xP and get some fighting points ))

Kaiyo glanced down at the scratch from nerdy chan's hilt. It stung, but barely; surface cuts often stung a lot more than slightly deeper ones, where the wound was closer to the nerves. Kaiyo was starting to get better at fighting Kidou, she thanked nerdy chan for that aspect, not wanting to make him change his attack she waited, readying herself for a quick escape as he said the incantation of the spell. Kaiyo bent her knees and leant forwards, spreading her reaitsu along her feet as she flash stepped quickly to safety. The fast paced attack did however not leave Kaiyo unscathed, the girl had grazed her arm from the power behind the attack, grateful she'd moved out of the way in time.

Kaiyo smiled at nerdy chan, 'Good, then i can finally do what i can do' she giggled. Kaiyo flash stepped to the side of Nerdy chan, sending a kick to knock his sword out of the way, slashing at his hip before the girl ducked low, stepping around the guy as she tried to place a large X cut along his back. Still not content Kaiyo jumped past nerdy chan, sending an elbow to the side of his head as she lifted her knees up to jump over his shoulder, spinning on her landing with a horizontal strike aimed at the top of Nerdy chan's back. Kaiyo rolled backwards and took her stance.

Kuro was in total pain, as all of the slashes and blows smashed into Kuro. The final horizontal slash knocked Kuro off onto the ground. "Oye... I am still no where near good enough to handle that. Though don't tune it down for me... I'll eventually somewhat keep up.." Kuro forced himself back up, rubbing his head. Kuro got into a fighting position and began slashing down at Kaiyo. Over and over he swung down, trying to break her guard. (Kenpachi style!) Kuro felt an adrenaline rush, something he had not really felt before in his life. His blade began to crash down faster and faster, with more force behind every swing. He was strangely enjoying the fight, as if he was becoming one with an inner beast that lain dormant inside of him. He continued on swinging like his inner beast until he had caught sense of himself sliding back a foot readying his blade to stab forward. Kuro put his other hand behind the blade as he stabbed forward. Halfway through the stab. "Way of Destruction #2 Reel!" The force brought Kaiyo forward towards the oncoming blade. Kuro did not know why he had become so serious, but he felt a strangely strong blood-lust lurking within his soul.

(He is going to go a bit crazy and then realize that that is not him. And gains self control a bit. Always fun.)

Kaiyo had been a little caught off guard by nerdy chan's raging attacks, his slices getting faster and faster as the blonde girl reacted quickly with her own blade to keep up. Kaiyo smiled, finally understanding what was going on as she got used to nerdy chan's new speed. Of course for Kaiyo his reaction seemed normal, granted i was unexpected from the usually quite reserved nerdy chan; but for most of the 11th squad at least, blood-lust drove them in combat, and it always made it a little bit more fun.

Kaiyo's body shot forwards as Nerdy chan lunged out his sword. How lovely. Kaiyo didn't manage to block, she'd been caught off guard and thrown into a blade. The cold metal sliced through her left side, blood trickling down. All Kaiyo had managed to do was extend her own blade, with any luck stabbing nerdy chan as well.

Kaiyo flash stepped backwards, nodding slowly. 'Okay then, let's do it' she smirked, glancing quickly to her wound, just above her left hip and bleeding quite a lot, Kaiyo didn't mind. The stinging had already rushed through her body, searing along her nerves. Kaiyo clenched her blade tighter and leapt back into combat. Bringing down a heavy attack aimed at nerdy chan's shoulder, before flash stepping behind her opponent and aiming a few more frenzied slices to his back. It was easy to see, in her eyes, the longing for combat that had appeared in nerdy chan, and when two opponents feel the same way, casualties often become more....likely.
