The young shinigami, Kaito Saruwatari looked about the forest area which was just outside the outskirts of the filthy Rukongai area where he had first made his entrance into Soul Society, but he didn't ever feel any sense of nostalgia when he thought about it. He had come to these parts once more because he was chasing a hollow that had slipped into the Soul Society undetected for a time, but once the people down at Bureau of Research and Technology picked up its signal Kaito was immediately summoned to go finish the infernal creature off. Blowing out an air of exasperation the young shinigami spread his consciousness around so that he could see if the hollow was stupid enough to allow its reiatsu to be felt so that he could hurry up and end things with ease which would allow him to get to sleep fast, but he had no such luck. Growling the 15 year old soul leaped quickly to another tree so that he could see if there was any movement that would give away the presence of a being whether good or bad being around. Sighing the young shinigami decided that he would at the very least flex his muscles as he flash stepped from one tree to another at wild speeds which made his images of himself appear all around the forest so that anyone that would have seen him would have thought he had copied himself.

Focusing his reiatsu evenly through the soles of his feet giving him the maximum burst that he needed each time he accelerated to his next landing point, but at the same time Kaito made sure that he never lost control over the speed at which he moved. Thanks to the many training days that he had in the use of shunpo, Kaito had become one of the foremost experts in its use and it was very evident as he flipped off a tree branch and then focused reishi into his feet as he sailed through the air so that he had a platform to use as a foothold. Once again focusing his reiatsu the young shinigami flash stepped back to the ground soundlessly as he smiled at the freedom that always seemed to fill him up when he cut loose and used his fastest shunpo possible. Not spending much time on the ground Kaito flash stepped once again into a tree branch, his movement registering not much more than a blip to the normal view of the surrounding residents of the forest whoever they were. As he landed once more in the tree Kaito paused for a bit because he thought that he had heard something, "I'm sure that there was a noise a little ways away that sounds nothing like any Rukongai citizen I can think of..." he assessed.

On cue many vines came bursting through the foliage of the forest and were aiming directly for Kaito, but just as the young shinigami looked as if he was about to get caught he flipped backward through the air landing on the ground where he quickly leaped backwards two paces as the vines crashed into the ground. Kaito waited to see whether his assailant would show themselves and he didn't have to wait long as he watched the brushes give birth to a masked creature that had the body of a spider. Kaito stared at the hollow with cold eyes as he immediately checked to see if there were any weaknesses that he could take advantage of right off the bat, but then the beast began speaking to him, "Foolish shinigami...you will die here because you came after me..." it roared at him. Although Kaito was surprised that the hollow actually had enough intelligence to speak he didn't drop his guard which served him well when vines came rushing at him from directly underneath his feet. Leaping straight into the air, Kaito readied himself for any other attacks that the hollow was ready to launch at him again and he was just barely able to catch view of the vines that came rushing from his left side from the tree.

Rotating his body so that it seemed as though he did a cartwheel in the air, the young shinigami was just barely able to avoid the attack that would have surely have killed him as he observed the vines bore into the tree had been the unfortunate victim of their attack. Now that Kaito was free falling back to the ground, he was most vulnerable and the hollow seemed to be aware of this as it had vines come rushing from all angles to attempt to ensnare him or to impale him. One of the vines rushed upward at Kaito from the ground, but he shifted his shoulder just enough that all that the vine ended up hitting was a small piece of his kimono causing the shred to flutter helplessly in the air as it fell to the ground. Kaito landed on the ground in a crouched position with his hands grasping the dirt beneath him as he tried to get a better purchase after such a rocky landing, "This thing's speed is something that is just unreal...is this just some hollow or is it something more?" he began to wonder. As he wondered about this a guttural noise was heard behind him that made him glance back to see the hollow shaking in laughter, "I see...so they sent you on this mission without even letting you know what you where hunting...I am an adjuchas shinigami...now remember that and...DIE!!" the beast bellowed.

Immediately vines from that came bursting from the hollow's abdomen which made Kaito realize that the vines weren't vines at all, but they were in fact webs that were being spewed from each of the eight legs of the hollow and was also coming from its abdomen. "Damn...that's one hell of an offense..." he thought as he rolled to the side as he dodged the initial attack from the sharp edged webs and then quickly scrambled to his feet so that he could face the first adjuchas class hollow that he had ever met. Shaking his head, Kaito couldn't help but let out a laugh as he placed his hands on his hips, but the laughter ended with Kaito glaring at the hollow with a cold, calculating eye as he let his hands fall limply to his side. The hollow seemed to be confused by his actions, but chose rather to attack him than to ask questions as more vines exploded from the hollow's abdomen towards Kaito who swiftly moved to the side with no sign of effort which caused the hollow to let out a noise of confusion. Not learning its lesson the hollow opened its mouth and charged a cero in its mouth, firing it at Kaito as it laughed apparently under the impression that Kaito was going to be killed by the shot, but Kaito surprised it as he flash stepped out of its way only to reappear in the same spot he had been standing initially.

Even though Kaito had been watching the adjuchas continue to lash out at him with its many vines and even utilizing its cero attack sometimes for some reason the young shinigami felt as if there was something that the hollow was hiding in terms of its abilities. Contemplating this as he just barely managed to avoided a vine that had been screaming through the air straight for his head Kaito leaped down towards the ground to where the hollow's main body was to see if he could figure out what it was the beast was hiding. "So...is this really all you have?" Kaito asked as he tried to bait the hollow into playing all its cards prematurely so that he could have a complete understanding of its limitations, but instead the hollow simply laughed at Kaito. "Shinigami...I can tell that you are strong...your reiatsu is the highest that I have sensed in a long time and the fact that they sent you out here alone more then tells me enough about your strength..." the hollow explained to the young shinigami. Although Kaito gave the appearance of listening to the hollow he continued to scour the body structure of the hollow in an attempt to see if there were any body parts that may have a hidden ability or unique feature that would give him a problem once he decided to attack.

Since he hadn't been really paying attention to the hollow's words he was surprised when he had heard the words, "Come back to Hueco Mundo and help us hollows to balance the scale with the shinigami..."; in fact Kaito took a couple of steps back as he really began to listen to the hollow. Narrowing his eyes as he tensed his body up for any suspicious attack the hollow may have been preparing, "Just what the hell do you think that you are saying to me right now?" he asked with a low, but firm tone, "I know that you aren't an adjuchas...for starters so why should I believe you at all?" he pointed out. The hollow bristled slightly at the fact that Kaito had known that it wasn't an adjuchas then it roared loudly, "Fool, do not take my offer as a sign of me wanting to do this!", just as numerous branches shot from the forestry, into the air and down upon Kaito. Kaito side stepped the first two vines that had come crashing down, but then there were three that he hadn't anticipated coming and they were going to impale him through the heart, "Dammit...I can't dodge these...I better do something though..." he thought with an expressionless face. Rotating his right shoulder just enough so that his body did a slight half turn as the vines pierced through his flesh ensure that they wouldn't rip straight through his heart instantly killing him.

The vines pinned him to a tree that had been behind him, but Kaito didn't take long to react to the attack as he quickly whipped out his zanpakutou and sliced the vines from his chest hoping that they wasn't any other aspect to the attack, but he wasn't sure what would happen in this case. Looking up at the hollow once again, Kaito stared with a glare that made even the hollow shuffle backwards a bit before letting out a guttural noise that apparently was supposed to be its laugh, "Amazing...to take on an attack like that without even showing any signs of the pain..." it bellowed. At this Kaito straightened up and closed his eyes as his lips curled into a smile, "...And with that statement you have just lost the battle hollow..." he declared with absolute certainty. Even the hollow sensed the change in Kaito's demeanor because it shifted a little bit in surprise before remarking, "This coming from someone who has three holes drilled into their body from an attack I made...strange, don't you think shinigami?". Kaito didn't bother to respond to the hollow as he opened his eyes and his smile faded away he had already decided that he wouldn't wait for the hollow to reveal his hand after all; in truth he was simply using this as a chance to learn more about the hollow race, but that would have to wait.

The hollow raised its reiatsu to what Kaito was sure was its highest level before crying out, "Vine Spike" causing numerous roots from the surrounding trees to spring up from the ground with dangerous points which most likely would have ripped Kaito into pieces, but Kaito candidly leaped into the open spot that had none of the spikes in the area. The hollow laughed in sheer delight since it thought that it had trapped Kaito, "Unlucky...shinigami...now you have no where to run to" it laughed as gathered its reiatsu for what it was sure was going to be the killing blow. "Spike Sand" it called out once it had gathered enough reiatsu and suddenly the vines closed in on Kaito with breakneck speed that would have caused any expert fighter to panic, but young Kaito simply watched as the vines made their way to him. As the first vine came into his area he simply ducked underneath then flipped over the vine that attempted to impale him in mid air only to leap to the left as he landed as yet another spike tried to finish the job that the other spikes couldn't finish. It seemed that the hollow sensed that there was something not right because it bellowed once more while churning out more reiatsu causing even more vines than before to come flying up towards Kaito, but still the young man didn't react to any of it.

Stepping back Kaito avoided the first vine of the new wave while he was sheathing his zanpakutou and then he slid to the right as a spike from behind him whizzed past his ear which seemed to put him right back in harms way as three spikes closed in upon him, very similar to the scenario that had occurred last time when he had gotten impaled. Instead losing his composure over the reoccurence of the troubling situation Kaito brought his hand up quickly and swatted the three vines away so that they instead crashed into a tree behind him with such force that they bore straight through it. The hollow seemed to be getting more paranoid as it continued to watch Kaito avoid all of its attacks so finally it used all its power and had the vines wrap Kaito in a cocoon of vines hoping that somehow that would neutralize the young genius. As the vines attempted to wrap around Kaito he simply smiled and then leaped into the air once more which made the hollow cry out, "Got you!" as a barrage of vines came flying down from the heavens, but Kaito simply grabbed on to a branch of a tree and used it to propel him through the air towards the hollow which was now screaming in terror, "You...you monster!" as the dead-faced Kaito came soaring towards it. Instead of attacking the hollow as would have been the smart thing to do Kaito landed a little ways in front of the hollow, "Now that you have lost, explain to me why you made that offer early..." he stated calmly, "...and don't lie or else I will end you..." he added with a viciousness even he didn't recognize of himself.
