PostSubject: Training In Reluctance   Mon Jul 27, 2009 7:07 pm

(I apologize if it seems too far beyond the character's stat ability. I was just trying to emphasize that he is getting better at the kido)

Walking calmly down the passage ways of the Seireitei, Kaito heads toward the training grounds. The warm afternoon is a calm one as nothing seems to be happening. He decided to tone his skills in the arts of kidou, and maybe find himself a sparring partner, in order to keep his insistent teachers off his back about his laziness. His skills with kidou where always pretty basic since he never had the motivation to actually work on any skills since he made his way to the Sereitei. As he enters the training grounds he stops and sighs, "Well it looks like for once everyone has the right idea" he said to himself as he began to head back to his sleeping quarters. He took a couple of steps before he stopped, "This is no good, if I keep this up I'll never get out of here" he reasoned with himself as he pushed his black bangs out of his face. Since no one else was here it was perfect for him to be training at this time. He walked toward the center of the area and relaxed and focused his reiatsu, in order to ready himself for the training ahead. Kaito would start off with some simple kidou for him. Kaito placed his hard out and pointed his finger to his target. A tree that stood some distance away.

"Number 4, Byakurai" he said in a monotone voice that represented his boredom with this training well. His crimson eyes stared straight into the tree ahead as he had already starting simulating what would happen once he released his kido technique. They had been learning this in class, but he never gave anything more than a feeble half-assed effort which he felt was always sufficient enough for what they were doing. Now as he stood gathering his reiatsu he tried to remember as he had watched his teacher perform the technique with relative ease. For Kaito, who excelled in analyzing a situation it was easy to see what the teacher had done so he really didn't have any problem catching on to the technique's mechanics. Visualizing the flow of the teacher's reiatsu, Kaito began to flow his own reiatsu from his spiritual well through his body and drawing through his arm just as he had seen his teacher done. His eyes shined with concentration as he felt the time for the technique drawing nearer and nearer.

The reiatsu concentrated through his finger and shot the white lightning toward the target. The energy was well enough to hit and break the tree through the center, causing the tree to fall on its side. It did make Kaito happy to see that his ability in the Byakuri kido were pretty well developed, "At least I don't have to trouble myself with such feeble kido, it would be trouble if I actually had to work on that" he said out loud into the clearing. That was simple for Kaito, but now he needed to try something slightly more difficult. He was able to use the Number 31, and the Number 33, but still wanted to perfect his skills in those. He focused his reiatsu once again on his right palm, as he raised his hand once more. The red orb began to form as Kaito chanted the incantation."Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south!" The reiatsu that built up in Kaito's palm was strong, but he knew deep down it wasn't the strongest. Kaito completed the incantation as he fired off the red sphere of reiatsu, "Number 31, Shakkahô"

The red orb shot out from his hand and was heading toward another tree in the area. The kidou hit the target with force, destroying the tree with a small explosion. Kaito was indeed skilled in the art of kidou, but wasn't the best he could muster by far. Kaito had spied his fellow academy students, who were from the noble families and had access to other kido because of that even down to the incantations so he decided to try them out grudgingly as he set his feet shoulder width apart. A few more lower level ones, but he should give them a try either way he figured since he wasn't doing this in order to get stronger; he just wanted to graduate so the level wasn't all that important to him. In the light of the afternoon the clearing seemed to sparkle with light as the sun rays touched the plants, grass, even the clouds seemed to shine somewhat in the basking air of the sun. Kaito couldn't help, but get distracted by so much natural beauty, "Now this is what I would rather spend my time doing" he said miserably as he scratched his hair trying to decide how much more training he was going to do. He breathed out and put his hands on his hip, "I don't really have a choice though" he figured since his graduation from the academy rode on it.

Kaito began the incantation of the kido technique that he thought would push him to the limits of his ability, “Oh ruler, mask of flesh and blood, all creations of the universe, fluttering of the wings, ye who bears the name of man! Truth and temperance, strike but slightly your claw upon this wall which feigns ignorance of sin. Hado # 33, Soukatsui!” Kaito's hand began to glow an electric blue and a large shot of spiritual energy fired from his hand, the immense pressure made him stagger backwards as he tried to maintain his balance. Once he stopped staggering Kaito looked at the tree that had taken the brunt of his attack. Even though he knew that the kido was powerful, he hadn't expected that it would be so destructive that it would pretty much blow up a tree, "What a troublesome technique..." he thought as he focused now upon his hand which was still smoking from the kido. He clinched and unclinched his hand to make sure everything was in working order, "It would suck if I had to go through this training with just one hand" he thought as he tried to figure out the technique he had just used.

Kaito noticed that rather than the electric attack he had thought the kido to be it was an intense blue flame that had fired from his hand. From what he could tell the attack was the advanced stage of Hado # 31. When he stumbled on this realization Kaito suddenly felt a sweat break over him, “What’s wrong with me?” he thought looking down at his palms which were now clammy and sweaty as well. Then it hit Kaito that since this was his first time ever using kido of that level, naturally his body would have trouble adjusting to it the first couple of times. This made him sigh as he sat Indian style in the middle of the clearing that he had gone to train in, “Man, I knew this was gonna be trouble. I’ll take a break so that I can avoid dying trying to learn these stupid skills.” Kaito contemptuously thought as he decided to lay back rather than simply sitting. Breathing out he placed his hands on his chin as he waited for his heart rate and the rest of his body to return back to normal.

After a couple of minutes Kaito decided that instead of running that it might have served him better if he did some physical activity such as push ups so that he could give his muscles a work and maybe catch his second wind so that he wouldn't have to when he was practicing the kido. Getting up slowly, he groaned inwardly as he realized that he was really going overboard when it came to this kido training and it definitely wasn't his style. He did a couple of stretches and then go into push up position, "This...is really miserable" he thought to himself as he went down once, but the strain that was caused from using the hado technique had made it hard from him to focus his reiatsu so he reached deep within himself so that he could feel his energy filling his body again as he did the push ups. Finally after completing them Kaito stood up once more with his clothes, a little damp from the sweat he had worked up doing the push ups. Without taking much time he focused on a nearby tree so that he could quickly resume his training. "Found it, let's get this troublesome show on the road" he sighed as he turned to face the tree.

He began concentrating on the target and focusing all of his remaining energy on getting the right words, keeping his palm flat, and keeping the right stance. He closed his eyes to better get a sense of how his spiritual pressure was flowing. Then he began to recite the incantation, “Oh ruler, mask of flesh and blood, all creations of the universe, fluttering of the wings, ye who bears the name of man! Truth and temperance, strike but slightly your claw upon this wall which feigns ignorance of sin. Hadou # 33, Soukatsui!” The blue flash exploded out of Kaito's hand, but this time he was ready. He kept his feet steady on the ground and breathed out synchronizing with the attack making it stronger. Kaito had only one thought as he watched the immense amount of spiritual energy explode from his hand, “Wow” As he stared in amazement at the strength of his own attack, because he hadn't expected it to be so strong.

Just like before though, Kaito felt as the strain of using the technique exacted its toll upon the reserves of spirit power in his body, but he didn't want to call it quits just yet so he quickly gathered himself together, "This is the perfect time..." he clenched his teeth as he placed his palm in front of him, ""Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man..." he said through gritted teeth as he tried to draw forth the spirit power he would need to use the kido. From the flow that he was feeling, he was sure that the technique wouldn't have enough power and he couldn't except that since he didn't want to waste anymore time training the kido. "Come on...push..." he mentally cheered himself as he drew forth a last, desperate surge of reiatsu from his being, "Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south! Hado,Number 31, Shakkahô" he shouted with all his might. He felt the red sphere form at his palm and he had seen as the kido made its way towards the tree as he was falling to the ground, but his face had hit the ground before he could see what damage the kido had done. "I can't believe I actually drew more power out at the end there..." he thought as he passed out in the grass of the clearing.

Kaito woke up the next day feeling completely revitalized and for the most part completely normal, “Well, it seems like things are feeling the way that they are supposed to be feeling” Kaito thought to himself with a frown plastered permanently onto his face.. He pulled off the hospital cover and stood up stretching out his body to see how he really felt. Staring at his hand he realized that it was slightly burnt as if by fire, “Psh…as if I can’t handle a weak ass technique like that” Kaito said to himself in disdain. He wasn't too enthusiastic about having to train in kido, but he also realized that he wouldn't really have a choice in the matter if he wanted to survive in a fight. As he looked around the the many targets that surrounded him, Kaito couldn't help, but try to come up with some tactics in order to speed up the kido process so that he wouldn't have to waste much time trying to work on it.

Focusing reiatsu once again, Kaito decided that he would do a second kido technique rather than him just waiting around after every use of a big kido technique until his body recuperated enough to the point where he could get himself together. He breathed out again as he tried to use the bakudo spell, Geki without an incantation on a target that was south of his direction, "Just stay focused and this could become very easy for you" he told himself. Without any incantation Kaito raised his hand towards the target as he said, "Bakudo # 9, Geki" in a completely even tone. Watching the red light flash from his hand and encompassing the tree, Kaito knew that he had succeeded in performing the technique, but he couldn't quite get the a handle on the level of strength that he could use the kido. Kaito stared at the effect that the kido had on the tree as he completely broke down the analysis of the kido in his head as he tried to see how he could master the ability.

Once he felt that he had an idea of the technique and its structure Kaito began to look around to see what he would decide to make his target, “Maybe I do need a partner for something like this after all” he thought. Then he realized that the point was not to see what the bakudo’s effects were rather he wanted to see if he could execute the bakudo on an effective level or not. Kaito grinned as he patted himself on the back, “Well, I better get going” he said out loud more because he wanted to motivate himself rather than just saying it. He spread his feet shoulder width apart and pointed his finger at a tree, a different one from yesterday. Then he focused and said in his most commanding voice, “Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!, Bakudo # 9, Geki!”

Then he focused and said in his most commanding voice, “Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!, Bakudo # 9, Geki!”

Exploding from his hand the red light made its way the tree that he had made his next target once more making things much more interesting, "There we go" he said as he felt the ease as he tried to feel his way through the technique. Panting as he stood his ground, Kaito's body felt a little heavy as he brought his arms back to his side, preparing himself for the chance to cast the kido again. While he didn't think that kido was the only way to fight Kaito did believe that it would serve as the best chance for him to graduate from the academy. Realizing this he shrugged his shoulders back and placed both hands forward, facing in no particular direction, “Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!, Bakudo # 9, Geki!” he called out. Once again he felt the familiar pressure build up between his fingertips as a red light swelled around his hand showing that he had done the bakudo correctly. Immediately he felt the drain of the skill overwhelm him as he dropped to one knee panting.

Kaito hadn't decided to call it quits in terms of training his kido techniques, but at the moment he had no choice in the matter since he couldn't draw forth any reiatsu at all into his being, "This is ridiculous" he thought as he dropped to the ground, falling face first. As he laid on the ground he tried to think of all the trouble that he had gone through to push himself to the his level of training. Kaito couldn't help, but try and come up with an easier way to do the training, "I can't do anything if I don't get better at this" he said as he crimson eyes faded, his vision blurring, even his eyelids refused to obey him anymore. Suddenly he had the image of himself as a non graduate and having to attend classes with some annoying youngsters that think that they know everything. At this thought Kaito's consciousness returned to him fully and he prepared himself to start training once again.

He stumbled to his feet once more as he concentrated on the kido spell that he had originally started working on, "Oh, great this is gonna be the toughest training that I will have to do" Kaito miserable thought. Focusing his reiatsu into his palms once again, "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws" he called out as he felt the huge level of reiatsu build pressure around his arms. While it didn't feel good on his arms he kept gathering the reiatsu, cringing his face at the immense pressure that was building back around his arm. Finally once he had reached the threshold of pain, Kaito couldn't stand it any longer, "Hado # 33, Blue Fire, Crash Down" he shouted releasing a huge wave of blue spiritual energy. The force was enough to drain Kaito of the last remaining reiatsu within his body.

Propping himself by placing his hands on his knees, Kaito began to retch the little food that he had left in his stomach onto the clearing floor. Once he gained his composure he used the back of his hand to clean away the wet residue left around the edges of his mouth, "That's just beautiful" he said out loud as he shook his hands to clean of the muck. Even though he thought it was disgusting Kaito felt a little better after throwing up. Shaking his head to clear the fog from his mind so that he could once again try to push himself to perform the technique that he could use. "Well here we go again" Kaito thought as he placed his hands in front of him, "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws" he called out once again, but this one made his knees buckle threatening to overwhelm him. Gathering reiatsu once again into the palms of his hand he felt the pressure once again building in his arms.

Kaito focused on a tree in front of him once again, "This has to work" he said as he bit down hard on his teeth to keep from crying out in pain. He swayed slightly as he tried to make it through this last ditch effort of training. Finally in the end Kaito spit out, "Hado # 33, Blue Fire, Crash" he yelled once again as he released the full blast of the kido. It burned his palms to release the technique when his body was already so wiped out, but he watched as the huge blast of spirit energy blew the trees to bits. He huffed as he collapsed down to the floor, "Can't do anything more today" he said as he dropped to the ground for what seemed the thousandth time, folding his arms so that they cradled his head. Kaito knew that he had just a little bit more before he would be at the level needed to graduate, but for him it couldn't come fast enough.

PostSubject: Re: Training In Reluctance   Sat Aug 01, 2009 10:02 pm

Stammering to his feet once again awaking from passing out due to pure exhaustion, Kaito prepared himself for what would be his last training session in kido as an academy student, "Really I should watch myself when I am pushing so hard" he thought as he shook his head. It bugged him that every time he trained, he ended up passing out on the ground for a day or two. To him that wasn't good training, but it was fine since he had come up with a new method of training kido while he was passed out. He would not only lock on to a target when he was getting ready to use his kido, but he would be moving as well so that it would be harder to concentrate the kido techniques into fruition. Shaking off the dust from his white and blue academy clothes, that he felt he had been wearing for far too long now, Kaito readied himself for the final stage of his kido training.

Finally he locked on to a tree as he began to run perpendicular to it as he raised his left arm and held his palm out, "I am facing the muzzle of a cannon at you. You are a pistol. I am a cannon." he began chanting as he tried to gather the reiatsu into hand. Since he was also channeling reiatsu throughout his body, Kaito found it hard to focus the maximum amount of reiatsu needed for the technique. Closing his eyes, he began to grasp at the power that he knew was in his body; he knew that this would be hard to do, but he attempted it anyway. It felt as if particles of reishi gathered in his mind to the center of a point and that point was the palm of his hand, where he had been trying to focus the kido technique. "In timing and power, my weapon surpasses your's. Have you seen... The Flying Blade Attack?, Hado # 23, 36 Pound Cannon" he called out as he released the furious power of the attack.

Kaito watched as the blade of wind sailed at the tree with incredible speed and he knew that he had finally reached the highest level of training that could be achieved as he was right now. "I can get...even...better" he breathed out, putting his hands on his knees. Although the technique he had used was perfectly within his capability, Kaito knew that his tiredness arose from the fact that he had concentrated not only on the technique, but he had also concentrated his efforts while moving at top speed. He had noticed that when other shinigami fought they only used kido when they were at a stand still position and he knew that doing such a thing would create openings so he trained upon movement and casting kido, "Once more and I'll get out of here" he decided.

Taking off into a sprint once again, Kaito held out his left arm with his palm up, ""I am facing the muzzle of a cannon at you. You are a pistol. I am a cannon." he started just like last time. Feeling the simultaneous flow of reiatsu through his body and the flow that was going to the kido technique, Kaito felt as if it just made sense to him now. He didn't have any trouble separating the two different currents of reiatsu flowing through his being. Smiling, Kaito finished the chant, ""In timing and power, my weapon surpasses your's. Have you seen... The Flying Blade Attack?, Hado # 23, 36 Pound Cannon" As if to emphasis his new level of concentration the wind blade exploded forth and completely sliced the tree in half and then the tree behind it as well. "I see...so when you increase your focus, you increase the maximum power of kido techniques" he noted as he strolled out of the kido training grounds of the academy training center. He was happy that he was finally closing in on his graduation requirements.
