Momo was excited about her first Kidou lesson, she preferred ranged combat to melee so she decided to make demon arts her main focus for her time at the academy. As, if she managed to get good enough, she wouldn't have to get too close to her target. Her Kidou class was outside, there were training dummies lined up along a range of only about 5 or 10 metres. The class were all messing around with the training dummies before the teacher arrived, as it turned out they didn't make very good dancing partners. The teacher walked towards the class but the majority of them had their back to him and didn't see that he was standing behind them while they attempted to dance with the training dummies. Having fun are we? he said, standing directly behind the only two boys left dancing with the dummy. If i see you dancing with the training dummies again, we will have you transferred to dance class! The rest of the class laughing hysterically at this point the two boys hung their heads in shame and re-joined the rest of the class behind the teacher, muttering something to themselves as they walked.
Okay, today we will be gauging your levels before the class is separated into skill groups; the inept, the capable and the exceptional he addressed the class. As the demon arts had always interested Momo, she spent many of her evenings studying them at home, learning the incantations in the hope that someday she may even get to use them. As a way to gauge your levels, i am going to set you a fairly intermediate Hadō to try, and a fairly beginner's one He handed sheets out to each member of the class, explaining the incantations for the Hadō, the importance of stance, and other information around positioning of hands and body. The title of the first sheet read "Hadō 31. Shakkahō - The intermediate Kidou" and the second sheet read "Hadō 4. Byakurai - The beginner's Kidou". Momo decided to start with the beginner's Kidou as she had previously read about this and already knew the incantation. Turning to face the target she shouted Hadō 4. Byakurai! she was somewhat disappointed with this attempt as all she saw was a few sparks erupt from her fingertips, maybe i need to focus a bit more she thought to herself, as her expression dropped from excitement to sheer disappointment. This time focusing as much energy she could, she shouted Hadō 4. Byakurai! and a bolt of white lightning shone from her fingertips and hit the target. Good work, but can you do the same for Hadō 31 Momo?. Momo liked a challenge, and she like the thought of being in the exceptional class so she decided to give it a shot...
