-Great. Kidou. All I have in my "arsenal" is four spells.- Ken was in the kidou training. He was an awesome fighter, but was terrible at Kidou. He was told by the instructor that he was the worst at kidou since some guy named Renji Abari. He was going to work really hard to get better at it though. Hopefully he would get good enough to keep up with Kairi, who was standing right beside him. He always beat her in everything else, but here, he lost every time. Sadly it was his turn to show what he had learned over the past week. He walked up and put a target on the floor.
He faced his open palm at the target. "Hado number 2, Reel." The target came flying at him. "Hado number 1, Thrust." The target flew back towards the directions that it came from. He turned to Kairi. "Can I use you to do these next two?" She looked a bit apprehensive. "Its me, and this is kidou training. I cant possibly hurt you. He chuckled and walked forward. The rest of the group looked back and forth and whispered amongst themselves. -That's right. Kairi is the only one here who accepts me.- Kairi, noticing this, turns to them all and raising her hands in the formation to shoot a kidou at them and they quiet up quickly.
"Thanks for that." Ken whispered to her. "OK, here I go." He raised his hands to do his next kidou, then stopped. "I need to get something first." He runs over and gets a cushion and puts it behind her. "There, now." He raised his hands again. "Bakudo number one, Restrain!" Yellow flew from his hands and wrapped around Kairi, pinning her arms to her side and she fell back onto the cushion. He released the kidou right away. "Now I need you to punch me, but first....Let mine glove glow with a grip of steel! Let mine digits shine with the force of stone! Bakudo number 2, Block!" She punched at him and he grabbed her hand. Not very impressive, but got the job done. You could see a small burst of white when their hands met to know the kidou worked. "Hmm, let me try something." He turned back to the target. "I have gotten a bit better...." He raised his hands at the target again. "Hado number 3. Crimson Strike!" There was a flash of red. Then it exploded in his face. He heard snicklers from the crowd and just put his head down. "No use. Screw it." He turned and shuffled back into line next to Kairi.
"Don't worry. You'll get it next time."

Next week

Ken'Ichi walks into the kidou room with a bit more confidence than last time. This time he brought in his training gigai. He was lucky enough to come across a very resilient mod-soul. To practice his kidou on. He could take anything under a level 50 kidou, and Ken was very far from that. It was his turn now and he popped the mod-soul capsule in to gigai.
"Whoa, Heya Kenny Ken. Ready to get this show on the road again? You know, I heard of this mod soul from a long time ago. His name was Kon. He was normally kept in a stuffed lion. Think you can get me something like that? Maybe a wolf, or a tiger, or a-"
He was cut off by a back hand fist to the face from Ken.
"We are here to train, don't waste time. We can discuss this later. Now get ready."
"Ouch, fine. You know I have a name too. It's Cloud. Now lets go."
They got in ready positions. THis time Ken had a few more tricks up his sleeve that even Kairi hadn't seen yet. "Bakudo number one, RESTRAIN!" The familiar yellow shot from his hand and towards Cloud. He jumped back. "Hado number 2, REEL!" Cloud was caught by the hado and pulled into the bakudo. There were a few gasps from the onlookers as Ken actually put some kidou together. Cloud's arms pinned to his back, but he could still move around. He ran to the wall and jumped onto it. As soon as he landed he kicked off, head first, flying at Ken. "Let mine glove glow with a grip of steel! Let mine digits shine with the force of stone! Bakudo number 2, BLOCK!" His hands were glowing white and he put them up to stop Clouds missile launch. He caught his head and a smirk crossed his face as he glanced at Kairi and winked. She smiled at his new confidence in kidou. It may only be another couple of spells, but the more he used them, the better he would get. "Hado number 3, CRIMSON STRIKE!" A shot of red came from his hands and sent Cloud flying. He hit the back and wall with enough force to shake the building. He got up and looked at Ken.
"Well that was new. You used the block kidou to stop me and hold me there. THen the crimson strike kidou to hit me point blank. Brilliant. But remember. It will take more than that to knock me down. He started charging in again. Ken had hey another trick up his sleeve. This one he whispered to himself, putting his arms behind his back. "Bakudo number crawling rope." The energy left him and poured around him. Once Cloud was close enough the kidou came from behind Ken and grabbed his arms, holding him in mid air. Ken pointed his right fingers at Cloud. "This one, you haven't seen yet. Hado number 4, PALE LIGHTNING!" A large blue bast came from his fingers and pierced Cloud right through the chest. He coughed and his eyes close, mod pill flying from his mouth. Everybody in the room was silent. They couldn't believe their eyes. Just a week ago Ken couldn't even fire a single offensive spell. Now he was able to chain the few spells he could do together for a very good little combo. Then they erupted. Kairi ran at Ken and jumped to hug him.
"Im proud of you Kenny. Good job."

"Cloud. Stop doing that. You can't do kidou." Ken was watching Cloud try to do the pale lightning kidou. It was quite funny to be exact.
"What are you talking about? I do kidou all the time. YOU just dont see it because YOU are too busy sucking at it." Ken clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. He was starting to regret getting this mod soul. Stupid Kisuke Urahara. He had read up on him and his mod souls. After more were killed he developed new ones to stay off the radar. He would much rather have gone and gotten a few hollows to practice on. But he went through those too quickly.
"Come on. It's class time. I have some more for you." Ken got up and started to walk out of the room, but Cloud stayed there, trying to do the lightning. "Engulfed by the need to want to come forward. Hado number 2, reel." Cloud, then, came quickly toward Ken.

At the class it was about to be Ken's turn again. He was watching Kairi do her performance. That was what she did when she displayed kidou. She didn't DO kidou. She performed kidou.
"Ken'Ichi. It's your turn." He was so dazed by watching her he didnt even notice she was done.
"Oh, right. Sorry." He and Cloud stood up, Cloud still caught by the reel kidou. "Hado number 1. Thrust." Cloud flew back accross the floor. "Are you ready now?" Cloud stood up and brushed himself off.
"Heh, sure lets do it." Cloud rushed at Ken and suddenly vanished. Ken looked around and saw nothing. He knew it wasn't shunpo because mods couldn't do shunpo. So he had to be...."May the tears of those killed, of those harmed by those of wickedness deliver their judgment upon those around. Hado number 6. RAIN OF PAIN!" It started raining around him.
"AHH. OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH!" Cloud was above Ken. Not anymore. The rain of pain kidou had a 10 ft radius. SO thats where he was now. 11 feet in front if him.
"You know im not always gonna show you my new stuff. That would be very unfortunate if you knew what I was going to do." HE began putting spirit energy into his hands and cut off the rain kidou. "Are you ready for my next trick?"
"Trick? I'll show you a trick." He pulled out some cards and picked one. "Oops. This card tells me that your not gonna win this time Kenny." He flashed his hand in front of the cards and they were gone. "Hehe. See? I can do magic. And you ca-"
While Cloud was doing his little "magic" trick Ken was readying his next kidou.
"May the black sounds of those that have felt death emit and destroy. Hado number 7, black thunder." There was a black ball in his hand. Right as Cloud was taunting him he launched his attack and ran right after it. Cloud jumped up to avoid the black thunder but didnt focus on his enemy. Ken jumped at the same time and caught him by the face.
"You want pale lightning ill give it to you. HADO NUMBER 4, PALE LIGHTNING!" Clouds face almost exploded in his hand. He fell down with a crash on the ground. "I thought you said I wouldn't win this time?" Cloud shot out of the smoke up at Ken, foot first. "Heh. I have something for that now too. He gathered more spirit energy in his arms and feet. "May the bucklers of the Holy Knight grace my forearms! May the boots of ten tons grace my feet! May these Angel's Arms hold me in my place so I may stand steady against all odds! Bakudo number 7, Steadfast" Cloud's kick landed right on Ken's crossed arms blocking his face. THe spirit energy in his feet let him not move backwards. He fliped in the air and kicked right down on Cloud's head, again popping the soul pill out.
"Thats 2 me, 0 you. Get used to it."
