This was one of Ken'Ichi's favorite trainings. Sprinting through the morning air. Even though he may not look it, he does appreciate the pretty things in life. Speaking of, his training partner, Kairi, was behind him. He was the fastest in his class and she was second. They often raced in the mornings to get their bodies loosened up for the strenuous days ahead. Being in the Shinigami Academy was no joke. Luckily he had finished his zanpakuto training, even though he still helped Kairi with her training. To day was exceptionally peaceful. It had rained the day before so there was a nice mist to run through and cool your face. The only down side to it was that this was training, and Kairi was always pushing him. His senses went wild and he turned around just in time to duck to the right to avoid a kidou to the face. Her and her blasted kidou. It always made the morning runs for fun. She would fire blasts at him and he had to avoid them. She had only hit him three times since they started in the academy. Three times too many. They continued running, passing other early wakers with they pre day workouts, people who had passed out in the fields, and instructors on their way in to get ready for their classes. Luckly he was number one in the whole class, save for kidou, and was excused from most of his classes, as long as he was there for test days and evaluations days. Today was one such day where he did have a speed test. Best thing he could do was streach his muscles like he was now. -Hmmm, i forgot what time it starts.- He turned to almost take another kidou right in the face, luckly sliding under the upcoming tree branch soon enough to avoid it.
"Hey kairi." He zinged away from another kidou. "What time was the speed test.." He dove up and watched a red blast pass right under him. "..today?" He landed and kept running. He turned a corner, running up to their rooms, and skidded to a halt in front of a tall, slender man wearing an instructor badge.
"Now." The instructor seemed angry. "I have been looking for you. The tests started an hour ago. Where have you been?"
"Uh..." Ken scratched his head." Practicing, training, uh..."
The instructor raised his finger and pointed it at Ken's face.
"Your test can start now."
His finger began to glow.
"Oh shi-" He turned and began running just as a bolt of white lightning left the instructors finger and chased him back where he came. Unfortunetly he was far enough ahead of Kairi that she didnt see this happen and fired a kidou right at Ken.
He dove to the side, still being chased by the lightning.

-Holy crap. This test sucks.- Ken'Ichi was being chased by a bolt of white lightning shot from the instructor. Why did he have to do it like this. Run or get hit. That's not fair. All he needed to make it even worse was.....and again he spoke too soon. HE dove to the side as knives came flying at his head. Apperantly the instructors had it out for the top student. He could only wonder what other kinds of stuff would....and he lost his footing due to the ground under him turning to mush.
"What the heck man? Can't I just get chased by lightning here?" He was starting to get mad. As he ran his heart was beating faster and faster. He could bearly breath. But he would not let the instructors beat him that easily. He gathered his spirit energy in his legs and jumped straight up out of the trees, looking for the instructors. HE saw the one in control of the lightning, which was still right behind him. USing his spirit energy he kicked off out of the air right at him. HE landed right behind him and jumped over to face him, smile on his face.
"Now now Ken. I know you are smarter than that."
Ken's smile quickly faded and turned to a frown. The instructor shunpod ouf the the way of the lightning.
"Crap." He kicked off, still using the spirit energy. -Where is Kairi?- Right then he got a red shot in his back. -Are these people reading my mind?- As he shot forward the lightning went right past him. Luckily Kairi's shot hit him instead. He tunred and located her. She was preparing another shot. HE launched toward the ground and kept running. -This is getting old.- He decided to pick things up a bit. He started using the trees as bases to jump to and off of. That way he would get better at his landings for when he did eventually learn how to shunpo.
