Kage stood, waiting for Sensei. Listening to the trees around him, feeling the warmth of the sun against his back. Kage turned when he heard a branch snap, and saw Sensei Firine's long black hair flowing in the wind, her violet eyes staring at him in complete adoration. She smiled when she saw him, but did not move closer. Kage bowed his head, and then ducked out of the way as a rock flew at him. He stood again, slightly surprised, but then again, it was completely expected. Kage stood waiting for sensei to continue.
"I think today, young Kage, we will for go the rocks and pebbles" Sensei slowly walked foward, and unsheathed her sword.
"And we will move onto something a little more challenging" She dragged her finger tip up the length of her blade and whispered something. In a flash of light, she stood holding two curved daggers in her hands. She smiled and came at Kage. Kage side stepped, trying to stay away from sensei, not wishing to draw his sword against her, so he turned, and ran. Moving with blinding speed he dashed through the trees, hearing thunks in the trees he passed, and his sensei's laughter behind him. As he rounded a tree, a dagger came flying at him, forcing him to dodge throwing off his sense of balance. He righted himself without barely slowing down, and continued to run.
"Come now young Kage, you cant run forever. And you know what will happen if i catch you" Kage knew all to well. Sensei would turn those blades on him, and their ability to cause nightmares. They would make his worst nightmare come true. Kage continued to run, dodging past trees, flying over bushes, barely touching the water as he crossed the river. The running continued for what felt like years, the thunks growing rythmatic, the beating of his feet against the ground began to sound like music. Kage's legs began to falter, and he lost his footing causing him to tumble to the ground. As he lay on his back breathing heavily, He knew that sensei would be on him with in seconds. He knew if he did not move fast she would catch him and force him to relive his nightmares. He reached down to his core, his fire, and pushed it to his legs, every ouch of it. He pushed himself up and began to ran, feeling the daggers hit the ground where he was just laying. He ran, pushing that fire as far down into his legs as they would go. Sensei laughter filled his head before she finally spoke right beside him
"Good, good. I believe it is time for a break young Kage". They both stopped running, turning to each other, Kage's heavy breathing slowing down. Sensei smiled at him and placed a hand on his shoulder
"Come. Let us get some Sake" Kage smiled and nodded, and they headed back into town. Kage knew that as soon as they were done, they would get right back to it. Maybe the Sake would help his body to loosen up.
