Kaito had heard of a nerdy shinigami that had requested to challenge the 11th squad lieutenant and that he had actually done pretty well, at least by the standards of the viewing academy members. Kaito knew better than to believe that an academy student could keep up with a lieutenant no matter what the case was. So when he got the chance he walked around the area searching for this, Kuro character. While he was normally pretty unmotivated, Kaito really had his interest caught by this particular student. Finally he managed to pick up on a reiatsu that he had not felt in awhile, "It's pretty weak" Kaito though as he rushed toward it, "Hopefully I can at least learn something from all this". He dashed until he found himself not to far away from the classroom area of the Academy, "Where else would I find a nerd?" he mused as he strolled up to a short kid with glasses. "You wouldn't happen to be Kuro? Would you?" he asked as he looked down at the kid while ruffling his hair. Kaito hoped that he would have to run around much longer trying to find an academy student.

Kuro looked up and smiled at the fellow student. "Yeah, that is me. What can I do for you? I am not really used for people looking for me..." Kuro shrugged. He stood slowly stretching out his arms. "You know the kidou you can learn that is beyond this school's level is quite interesting.... Can I have your name?" He said holding up an advanced book of kidou.

Kaito looked at the boy quizzically as he shrugged and walked a few paces away from the kid, "Hey, Kuro instead of just showing me a book I have no intention of reading" he said over his shoulder. "How about you show me the kido techniques live?" he calmly he stated as he turned to the short shinigami once again. Raising both arms over his head he stared at the nerdy looking boy and watched to see how the shinigami would respond to his request, "At least I will see just how this Kuro managed to beat a lieutenant..." he said to himself in a voice that the other person couldn't hear. He sighed because he really didn't want to have to actually go against someone whose abilities could be so troublesome, but there wasn't really going to be an opportunity to see the kid in action so he had to resort to this. "How troublesome" Kaito thought to himself.

Kuro tilted them, his face turned red. "Wow... Never got a compliment before....Sure... I need some more practice for a rematch with Kaiyo-sama anyways. Care to follow me to the sparring grounds?" Kuro turned towards the door. There is more than what he is telling me... It must have to do with a duel... I am sure of it. You're right boy... He is looking for a fight.. You got the respect you wanted... Congratulations boy. Kuro turned his head, "I want the truth... Are you looking for a fight?... I am not stupid... Tell me straight up..."

Kaito looked at the shinigami with a look of complete disinterest as he realized that the shinigami had thought that he had some sort of interest. "Look, Kuro I don't know what you think this is..." he started as he scratched his head walking towards the sparring grounds, "But I don't have any interest in fighting you. I simply want to see some of the advanced kido techniques you have" he continued. The truth was that he didn't really see the point in leading the shinigami on, "If you are really intent on fighting I will fight, I suppose" he said. Placing his hand on his zanpakutou he looked at the shinigami as with the same bored look on his face, "I don't think that this guy knows what he is getting himself into if he fights me..." he thought to himself. He could tell the reiatsu within the kid's body was nowhere near the amount that Kaito had in his own body.

Kuro laughed, "Good, I am tired of dueling... Everyone I have been dueling lately have been double my strength..." Kuro let out a long sigh. "I know you are stronger, your reiastu is more plentiful then mine. I just have good Kidou mixes... And get lucky..." Kuro began walking out into the center of the sparring grounds. "I just didn't really think you wanted to watch me cast kidou... I thought it had to do with my fight with Kaiyo-sama." Kuro laughed, "Honestly she could have one easily.. But she held back at the end... She could have stopped the final blow... She just didn't want to almost kill me in a duel. So she got hit and got knocked out..." Kuro shook his head slowly. "It is annoying.... She gave me the win...She could have finished me of easily." Kuro shrugged, "Well any technique you wanna see... I can help you with kidou... I need to work on my reiastu anyways."

Although found the shinigami to be a bit too talkative for his tastes he could tell that the shinigami meant only good things, but in truth the only reason that Kaito himself wouldn't fight the shinigami was because it would require too much effort. "Well, I figure that I have to master some more kido techniques as part of my graduation" Kaito told the boy. "I don't care about fighting, it's just that I don't have any intention of sitting around here for a whole term extra" he said. He shrugged to the shinigami, "In short, not to be rude Kuro-san, I don't have any interest in you or your story about fighting the lieutenant. That being said you don't have to help me if you don't want to" he bluntly told the academy student as he jammed his hands into his pockets.

Kuro thought about it, he then nodded his head. "Well, I can sense from your reiastu you are plenty strong without the techniques though, I do not mind helping you a bit." Kuro thought about it. "Well, first off I want to see your capabilities with kidou..."

Kaito sighed as he walked to the center of the sparring grounds, "This guy is making me do even more work than I had initially thought I would be doing" he said as he scratched his head. Gathering reiatsu, Kaito focused his spiritual power into the palm of his hand, "Here we go" he said as he felt the power of the kido surging all around him. His robes flapped all around him as the power of his spell began to take form, "Topple over, spill into the Ocean, Pollute the Waters" he said pausing to pour large amounts of his spiritual power, "Bakudo # 14, Oil Slick" he called out as he watched huge amounts of oil explode from his hands and splash in the direction that he was facing. He turned back to the nerdy shinigami, "Man oh man, what do you think Glasses?" he asked unenthusiastically.

Kuro laughed at his lack of enthusiasm. "Great, I am not sure.. You are good for an academy student. That is the limit for most academy students. I am just a nerd and studied beyond that. The next spell is a nasty one... But you have a little bit to go before you can use it.... It is the Way of destruction #20.... White Crawl." Kuro shrugged, "Though, if you want to dazzle the judges.... I think the best thing would be to learn how the different kidous can combine."

It seemed that the kid really knew what he was doing so Kaito didn't dose off into his listless daydreaming as he normally would, "He keeps saying I'm plenty strong...does that mean I'm ready to graduate?" he wondered to himself. Realizing that he was doing exactly what he didn't want to do which was to not pay attention to the nerdy shinigami, Kaito refocused his attention back on Kuro, "Well...that's all nice and dandy, but I was hoping..." he began to suggest as he scratched his head, "well...I was hoping that we could work on and perfect one or two higher level kido here". Yawning right after he finished the sentence Kaito wondered whether or not it was going to be worth it to strain himself trying to study with this nerdy shinigami, who seemed a bit too eccentric for his tastes, but then he thought about what one of his academy instructors said to him. He sighed knowing that he had no choice, "I'll stick with it, but I can't say that I will like it..." he muttered under his breath as he gazed skyward with those bright red eyes of his.
