(OOC: Kaiyo and I only preferably, sorry.)

Kuro sat outside of the academy grounds in a tree letting out a long sigh. I wonder if vice-captain Kaiyo received my challenge request. Kuro jumped down and stretched looking around. You lost against a 4th seat why must you go against a vice captain? "Because... I need to see how far I am from a Vice captain's level..." Kuro said aloud to the voice. Kuro sighed and looked up watching a crow fly above. "That is not a good omen..."

'Kuro Crowe' the name meant nothing to Kaiyo but the girl had still agreed to a sparring match with the guy. Most vice captain's received formal sparring chalenges each day, and fro the 11th squad Lieutenant that number was even higher. Usually Kaiyo had denied all of the academy students letters who believed they could beat her in combat blah blah blah. But the blonde girl had decided saying no to a guy who had openly admitted he needed to get better and wanted to improve would be impossible.

Kaiyo bounded along the path at the shinigami academy, the girl had come back various times to teach lessons and other various appearences; but Kaiyo had never returned with the intention of fighting. The girl grinned happily as she neared the sparring grounds, it was a relatively mild day with a slight breeze, pushing the girl's hair across her face gently. Kaiyo had ended up standing behind a guy, she assumed it was the academy student she meant to be meeting. The small girl grinned happily, she'd put a cap on her spiritual energy so she figured he hadn't sensed her arriving yet, 'Heya, i'm Kaiyo' she beamed happily from behind the academt student.

Kuro smiled at her calmly and made a small peace sign with his hands. "Yo! I am Kuro Crowe, nice to meet you Vice Captain Kaiyo!" Kuro bowed. Kuro jumped back, "I know your not that into kidou... Though I would prefer it be allowed.. Is that alright with you?" Kuro said hopefully. Kuro stood in position to start. "Ready when you are!"

Kaiyo nodded at Crowe, 'Sure thing, but if your not that good at sword play i'd suggest you try and use it' she grinned at her opponent. Kaiyo slid her right foot backwards on the ground, hovering her hand over her Zanpaktou, the girl had no intention of releasing her Shikai, or even her spiritual energy, instead Kaiyo simply wanted a good spar. 'I guess i'll take the first hit' she beamed happily. Often the biggest shock people found was how such a small cute girl could be so demonic in battle, but that only served to make things more interesting.

Kaiyo pushed off from her back foot, racing towards Kuro, the girl waited until she was just close enough to draw back her fist, quickly stepping around him and placing it at the centre of his back, followed by a quick sweep at her opponents feet. Kaiyo leapt backwards and readied her stance, she figured hand to hand combat would be a good starter.

Kuro caught himself at the last second looking up at her. He nodded slowly, and pointed his hands at the ground near him on opposite sides. "Way of binding #14 Oil slick..." Oil splattered the air around him and he began running around the area, avoiding her.. He would tap his hand on walls, shrubs and trees as he muttered something under his breath.

Kaiyo didn't move, the oil had pretty much surrounded her as Kuro ran around her, the girl simply smirked. Kaiyo was so far impessed with the academy student, at least he seemed to be quite intent of giving the fight its all. Another breeze flowed past the girl, leaving her to move her hair once more out of her eyes. Kaiyo kept her stance solid, staring straight ahead as she ignored Kuro's moving around. The blonde girl began tapping the hilt of her blade for a while, readying herself for some action. 'Long Kidou's aren't always the best idea, espacially binding ones when i can see you' she grinned happily.

Kuro sprinted around more finishing up setting up the kidou. He turned around swiftly, "Way of binding #14 Oil Slick!" He shot more oil around the ring. Kuro began to spring to the other side, repeatedly leaving oil all over the arena. He smiled at her. "There is no reason for me to bind you... You are already stuck..." Child... do your best.. Kuro leaped into the air waving his hand in the air, "Way of binding 12 Flame Ambush" A kidou rope formed in his hand and started to extend spinning in the air. He reached down with his other hand and shot the spot that he tripped on with a Crimson strike. Fire began to spread on a long string from that spot. The string extended all across the arena. The fires caught the oil ablaze, and soon the whole arena was burning. Kuro throw down the spiraling kidou down at Kaiyo, shooting it at one end with a Crimson Strike causing it to light on fire as well. Kuro landed on top of one of the walls. He clapped his hands together. "From my skin, I release the porcupine's spines. Inject the target! Way of destruction #12 Needle Release!" Needles shot from Kuro's skin towards the fire, in the direction where Kaiyo was.

(OOC: So worth Intelligence and Kidou... XP if not... then just kidou... or just intelligence... whatever you guys choose really.)

Kaiyo giggled at Kuro's comment, oil didn't mean she was stuck. Kaiyo soun on the ball of her foot as Kuro leapt into the air, the blonde girl was only visible for a moment longer as the oil aroudn her erupted into flames, the blazing heat licking closer to the girl. The sound of the fire made it almost impossible for the small girl to hear which spell Kuro was casting, all Kaiyo knew was it would probably hurt. Without giving it another thought Kaiyo unsheathed her Zanapktou, shutting her eyes as the small needles sliced throguh the air.

Kaiyo got hit with the first one in her right hip, grinning as Kaiyo shrugged to herself. She didn't see the point in letting herself get hit. Kaiyo swung her Zanapktou and stabbed it into the ground as the blade began to glow a familiar golden yellow, the tingle of erngy prickled through her body as her spiritual energy rose. 'Denkou kabe' she said quietly. A golden wall of energy erupted from the ground, dissolving the various needles with ease. Kaiyo knew she couldn't keep her Shikai released for too long, Kuro didn't have much spiritual energy, and just the release of hers would leave him gasping for air. Kaiyo quickly sheathed back up her sword, capping up her spiritual erngy as she leapt into the air. The ability to stand on air was a great advantage to shinigami, but often not used when needed. Kaiyo leapt over to Kuro, not giving him a break as she spun round, aiming a kick towards his head.

Kuro pulled up his zanpaktou up to block the kick. The force caused him to fly back onto the top the wall on the opposite side of the arena. Gyeaah... Why is everything heavier.. Is that her reiastu? Or her sword's ability? Kuro stood up panting heavily. Use me boy... Borrow my strength this once... Use... That. Kuro nodded slowly. "I was fine, Vice Captain-sama.... You didn't have to put it away...." You know that is a lie... Kuro pulled out his Zanpaktou. "You will understand.. That I am one to take seriously...." Kuro put his hand over the blade of the sword. "Way of Binding #14 Oil slick." A toned down version of the spell slowly covered the blade. Kuro held the oil covered blade out away from him where he shot a crimson strike at it lighting the blade of the sword on fire. "You will see.... the extent of my powers..."

Kuro touched the end of the blade, "Way of binding #12 Ambush Flare." He put more energy into the spell, causing the tread to be the size of a rope. He began to swing the rope causing the flaming blade to spin. Faster and faster Kuro began to swing it. Now boy! Now! Kuro released his grip causing the sword to fly directly at Kaiyo. "Enjoy Vice Captain-sama!" Kuro shot a Crimson strike at the rope causing it to light and explode at the hilt of the sword doubling its speed. The flaming zanpaktou flew at Kaiyo at an almost unavoidable speed.

Kaiyo let out a small sigh at Kuro, the guy was confident at least. Kaiyo had half expected Kuro to set his sword on fire, at least after he used the same oil kidou. The girl figured he wouldn't have many more spells left in him so she just needed to ride out this one. Kaiyo smiled at the guy, she couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed, Kaiyo could win easily by just releasing her shikai, but then it wouold be awful training for the guy. The girl also refused to be beaten by an academy student. Kaiyo smiled to herself, 'i guess this is good training for both of us' she said to herself.

Kaiyo unsheathed her Zanpakyou quickly, the blazing blade hurtled towards her as the blonde girl gripped her blade tightly, slashing sideways down onto Kuro's flaming sword. Kaiyo knew dodging would have been useless, she would have time so her only left option was to try and lessen the blow. It worked at least. Kaiyo had flowed her spiritual energy along her blade, deciding she had to put out the fire at the very least. The blade had been shot quickly towards her and Kaiyo had barely moved in time, the still smouldering Zanpaktou sliced along her stomach. The wound wasn't too deep, about an inch, which for the lieutenant of the 11th squad was the equivelant of a papercut. Kaiyo glanced down as the blood trickled down her side. The blonde girl nodded in appreciation of her opponent. He had just lost his only weapon for an attack.

The small girl spun around and lunged forwards her own blade, sending it as fast as she could straight to Kuro's chest. Kaiyo stepped off quickly, chasing her blade, leaping into the air before aiming a spinning kick down onto Kuro.

Kuro took the kick and then grabbed her leg. "I think you just broke my left shoulder.... You are strong for someone who looks so innocent...And handling a gash like that as if it was a mere paper-cut. You truly do live up to the 11th squad standards." Kuro gripped her leg tighter and smiled. "I guess I will have to put everything I have left into the next attack." Kuro took a deep breath and looked at her, his eyes began glowing blue with reiastu. "Destruction! Surround my body! Send any around me to the realm of the the unconscious, where dreams do not reach! Way of Destruction #20 White Crawl!" A barrier of energy exploded around Kuro with a 5ft radios.

(Kidou! yay! Oh btw, White Crawl-Destroys everything within a certain radius of the user and knocks out any living thing within that radius. )

Kaiyo smirked at Kuro, 'Well i gotta say you'd be great for the 5th squad, a definate candidate for their open Lieutenant spot' she smiled happily back at Kuro. Kaiyo could have blocked the attack with various counters, buch each one would cause far too much damage to Kuro, and she figured the nerd didn't need the headache. Kaiyo did have an idea though, dropping her Zanpaktou as Kuro began to say the incantation. Kaiyo twisted around slightly and grabbed onto his collar as the energy erupted around the pair. Forcing Kaiyo backwards she dragged Kuro with her, the blinding light engulfing her senses the girl didn't even recognise her own body being knocked to the ground. Eyes shut the girl lay silently in a bath of darkness, surrounded only by her thoughts.

Kuro forced himself up noticing the knocked out. "Did I just beat a Vice-captain? No... She could have stopped me long ago.... She let me win.." Kuro stood and then sat down by her body. "Way of binding #3 First aid." He sat there healing her minor wounds. He tore off a piece of his robe making two long bandages. He dampened the bandages, putting one on her forehead and the other around the wound on her stomach. Kuro sighed, "Thank you for sacrificing victory to make me feel better." Kuro bowed and stayed next to her side, waiting for her to awaken.

Kaiyo yawned as she sat up quickly, 'I slept really well' she grinned happily at Kuro. The small girl bounded to her feet, holding out her hand to help Kuro up as well. Kaiyo scratched the back of her neck casually, she wasn't sure how long she'd been out, but she knew she felt better for it. The blonde girl leant down and picked up her sword, spinning it in the palm of her hand for a moment before sheathing it back up. 'You really are good ya know; a kidou nerd, but really good' she beamed at Crowe.

Kaiyo stretched her arms high above her head and headed back off to her squad barracks, calling over her shoulder, 'You should get that shoulder looked at nerdy-chan'
