Name: Faustus (Faust) Kazuyama, Legion
Age: 26 alive/434 Dead
Gender: Male
Height: 6’2
Weight: 186 Lbs.
Appearance:
Legion clings to the image that he held during his life as a human; retaining a twisted regality that seems to speak volumes of his former life. Though his physical appearance has changed drastically in the way of the color of his skin and his overall demeanor, his outer shell is still a chilling reflection of his former visage. His figure is fairly average, standing at 6’3 and weighing roughly 187 Lbs., Legions body outline is fairly standard for someone of his size. His entire complexion however seems to have deteriorated into an almost deathly husk of its former luster. His skin has become deathly pale and is marred by scars of battle. Even his hair is a sickly pale white color, which seems to gently flow downwards. These things however are trifling when compared to the chilling sense one feels when gazing into his eyes. Legion’s eyes are quick literally windows into the abyss; no eyeballs reside in his skull, only two, softly glowing, white pupils.
Clothing means little to Legion, but this, like his appearance seems to be fashioned around the clothing style that he adorned himself in during his years of life. Though it appears rather cumbersome, his clothing is remarkably durable but still retains an almost feather-like lightness. It’s unique beauty yet refined appearance has clearly been modified by Legion to suit his new persona (or lack thereof).
Personality: Legion is a being void of much in the manor of emotion or sentiment. He is a creation that was deliberately stripped of his ability to experience anything in the range of feeling, allowing him to operate from a purely logistical standpoint. Legion’s entire ‘personality’ is based upon his ability to decipher what he deems to be logical from what he feels is irrelevant; which is somewhat contradictory since he feels no satisfaction from his accomplishments. Although this undoubtedly makes him a rather numb and seemingly heartless individual, he actually remembers what it was like to feel and will sometimes fake an emotional response to better react to people, but this is done only to more efficiently coexist with those around him rather than from any heartfelt sentiment. This quirk sometimes leads on that inwardly, a piece of him actually yearns to regain his humanity, but his extremist logical outlook is constantly at odds with such things. This conflict tends to sometimes make him seem indecisive or hesitant, but little of this is ever apparent to anyone.
Legion also seems to be bound a strict code of conduct that coincides with his logical standards. This code of conduct stretches well into his perception of loyalty and morality, making him an extremely dependable individual, even though earning said allegiance can be rather difficult. However, he is not purely bound by loyalty. If he views an illogical or detrimental result for himself, he has no qualms about removing himself from all ties with an individual; however he will never do so in a shifty or disloyal way.
On the battlefield, Legion is ferocious; fighting with constant assaults that give his opponents little to no chance to analyze the situation. He will continuously assault a target, analyzing everything from their fighting stance to their breathing and trash talk. He gathers as much data as possible and theorizes about possible weaknesses which he then attempts to brutally exploit. He himself speaks very little while in battle and even less of what is spoken is trash talk, but he does occasionally mutter a word or two if he deems it appropriate. Above all else however, Legion will never attempt anything that he deems underhanded, even if there is no chance for victory. He gains a glimpse of satisfaction when fighting a worthy opponent and he will adamantly go against anyone or anything that may attempt to intrude on that.
Background: Human life:
Born the eldest son to a lower dynasty lord in the Edo period in ancient Japan, Legion was born into a life of wealth, prosperity and natural desire for power. His younger years were spent on his estate, safe from the warring nation outside the walls, but from adolescence, Faust’s soul yearned for more. Faust’s father worked predominately as an ambassador for peace in the warring nation, but admittedly, Faust’s perception of the world was far more violent and aggressive than his father’s idealistic views, but he respected him for his endeavors. Though their ideals seemed to constantly clash, Faust was groomed and raised to inherit his father’s kingdom. He soon learned to manage the smaller affairs of the estate while his father was away; giving him his first taste of power and with it, fueling his lust for more power and anything else the world had to offer. By his sixteenth birthday, Legion was already running a respectable fraction of his father’s empire, performing the more menial tasks but learning quickly in hopes of overthrowing a Father who he had deemed “Embodied the weakness of the era”.
As time passed and Faust grew, his father became less and less able to carry about his daily affairs, which allowed Faust to temporarily sate his deviant hunger for power. All seemed to be running smoothly, but when he discovered that his father had made arrangements to not relinquish his kingdom to his first born son, rather he would entrust his kingdom to a unknown second son, whom he had fathered illegitimately, Faust was infuriated, but it was his overbearing greed of power, blinding him in his rage and grief, that drove him to slay not only his father, but every member of his house that resided on the estate, burning it to the ground in blind rage.
He had lost everything that had ever meant anything to him. Money, prestige, but most importantly, power. In his eyes, that was all that ever really mattered, and without it, he was nothing. That thought lingered in his mind for hours, days, months, years until he pushed him against the edge of madness. Power was all he wanted, and he’d sell his soul to have it back. Though years had passed since the incident, Faust was captured and quickly executed for the heinous slaughter of his people, but his soul refused to pass on; desperately searching for power, until his soul converted into a hollow remnant of his former self.
Life as a hollow:
During this time, he learned much of the spirit world and the war raging between the hollow and shinigami. Naturally, he saw little reason to involve himself in their conflict, but he learned that the consumption of souls would bolster his strength considerably. Taking this as an opportunity to regain what he had lost in life, Faust killed and savagely devoured any soul that crossed his path, but naturally, his actions drew the attention of the soul society and other organizations that viewed him as ‘problematic’. Still a newborn hollow, Faust was far too weak to contend with guardian’s from the soul society (or what he believed to be the soul society), but rather than slay him, Legion was captured and taken back as a test subject.
Though his memory of time blurred, the only constant reminder of his existance after his capture was the unrelenting and unbearable pain. The experimentation literally stripped him of what little humanity he had left within him, leaving nothing but a hollow shell, from which his captor’s believed that he could be remolded and repurposed to benefit their cause. Seeking a way to harness hollow’s naturally ability to convert souls into raw power, Faust’s soul was forged into a special scythe, along with the souls of countless other hollows in hopes of creating a more powerful weapon that harnessed the raw destructive capabilities of the hollow. Though the experiment by scientific standards was indeed a success, Faust’s soul lingered within the scythe along with thousands of other lesser hollows. Though the test was deemed successful, the power of the hollows proved far too much to handle, overwhelming the first subject to even attempt to handle the blade. Though it took all his strength, Faust was able to establish himself as the dominant entity and took primary control of the new host body; using it as a tool through which he could manifest. Faust also discovered that he could recreate the appearance he held in life, although it was drastically twisted by his transformation. Faust then renamed himself Legion, for he was one that now ruled over many.
Legion managed to escape the spirit world and lingered in the world of the living, preying upon souls for a time, but also began to prey upon his holow brethren; slaying them and merging their souls within himself, but doing so tactically, coinciding all his feedings with the attacks of his fellow hollows or the shinigami so that all would still only suspect the other party to be the culprit. Legion continued to grow in power while simultaneously increasing his intellect of the spirit realm. Naturally, his logical outlook allowed him to grasp and understand far more than the average hollow, but his logic also dictated a need for a purpose. He realized that in truth, the hollow were parasitic entities that were a blight on the spirit realm, but the shinigami were sparse better; acting as judge jury and executioner over all spirits. Though he is still unsure of which side he will take in this fight, one thing is certain.
“We must grow stronger…”

"Is there life after death? Perhaps there is
only life after death, and it is a mere reflection is what the world sees. A ripple of what is yet to come, fearing the messenger that comes to take them to supreme paradise or unspeakable torment. Ignorance is bliss I suppose..."
Legion ranted as he sat atop a simple building, overlooking the bustling city streets as he watched the lives of the ignorant. They all had their trials and triumphs, their highs and lows, but in the grand scope of all that had been and all that had yet to occur, did it have any real meaning? Did their lives in the world of 'living' really hold significance? or was it all just a trial? a precursor to something far greater than any of them could conceive. Legion didn't truly know, but his experience taught him that only the strong can have a place in the new world that was forming in both the physical and spectral realm. Governments towered over the weak, oppressing the masses with little resistance, while in the spirit realm, the hollow feasted on the souls of the weak to become even stronger and the Soul society played the role of fate, deciding the destination of what souls actually did pass on. All things considered, it was rather amusing to him, but somehow at the same time, incredibly irritating. Legion could only release a light sigh as he vanished from the rooftop, reappearing on the ground below in time to see a small child run past. (Though obviously he was invisible to the human realm)
He watched the child scamper off out of his sight, momentarily reminiscing on his own childhood. So much had happened since he died, so many advances in technology, medicine, and science, but through it all, humans never changed. Fascinating.
"Absolute power corrupts, they say." Legion mumbled to himself as he began to walk down the street. "Or perhaps Absolute power corrects..." Legion said as he began leading himself into another personal rant.
