Kerii Heiwakirā - Shinigami Empty
PostSubject: Kerii Heiwakirā - Shinigami   Kerii Heiwakirā - Shinigami I_icon_minitimeMon Jul 19, 2010 6:00 pm

Name:
Kerii Heiwakirā

Age:
115; appears to be 17

Height:
5' 3"

Weight:
100 lbs

Gender:
Female

Personality:

Kerii is a generally calm girl. She's not easy to upset or anger and she tends to keep a calm-esque about her, even when fighting. Though her outward appearance states otherwise, she's actually rather quick mouthed and witty with a very sarcastic view on things. She loves the fight, radiating excitement and apprehension whenever she's caught up with an enemy. She's loyal almost to a fault, willing to die for her friends, captain, etc. Generally unforgiving, she is also known for holding a grudge, so unless a friend is willing to kiss her trust away, it's best not to betray her. She holds her pride upon a pedestal no one can reach and if she's willing to lay it down for you, you know you have her utmost respect. She'll get annoyed if you join in on her fight, yet she won't hesitate to join yours. Anything to help our her fellow Shinigami, after all. She's respectful to everyone unless said person has done wrong to her or someone she knows.

Appearance:

Kerii has dark brown hair with slightly lighter streaks brought on by the sun. Her long hair - which falls slightly past her shoulders - is usually kept down, though sometimes she'll throw it up into a lazy pony tail. She has bangs that fall down the center of her face towards her right eye. She has dark green eyes and fairly pale skin. She wears the typical Shinigami uniform, but she has a purple sash around her waist that matches the colour of her Zanpakutou. She's fairly small in size, looking more delicate and fragile than she actually is.

[Ignore the green on the Zanpakutou's hilt. It's all purple.]

Sealed Zanpakutou:

Dark purple blade that appears nearly black. The cloth wrapping it is a light purple. The hilt is in the shape of a 6 sided flower that's nearly the same dark shade as the blade.

History/Background:
Kerii's life was, in all meaning of the word, luxurious. She grew up with a rich family was was spoiled with everything she ever wanted. She went to a pretentious private school, she had maids tending to her every move, and she was given any material thing she desired. She had plenty of friends and plenty of attention.

Her death was short and simple, ending with the deadly combination of a new car, the highway, and a drunk driver. She was returning home from a party and it wasn't until 2 in the morning that she decided to return home. It was dark, the ground wet with fresh rain, and the other driver was plastered. He was going far too fast for the rain sleek roads to handle it and, as it so often does with speeding, his car Hydroplaned. Kerii was given little time to react; she never saw her death coming.

When Kerii awoke in soul society, she had little to no memory of her past life. All she could remember was driving and then suddenly ... nothing. The empty feeling of now knowing where or who she was ate at her soul. Not to mention she was completely alone in a strange place that was so obviously not in the world of the living. Eventually her first name returned to her; she was Kerii. She eventually joined a small group of people her age (she appeared 16 at the time) and grew to befriend them all. They nicknamed her 'Heiwa Kira' - meaning peace killer - due to her disruptive nature (which she finally grew out of). Eventually it became her surname and she finally felt like she had a place where she was loved. Still, she couldn't help but feel like she belonged somewhere else. One day, when traveling through Rukongai with her friends, a kindly old man noticed she had an abnormal amount spiritual pressure. The promise of something bigger led her to bid goodbye to her friends and join the Shinigami Academy where her story finally takes place.

Kerii's stomach growled ... again ... for the umpteenth time that day. And Katashi shot her a glare ... again ... for the umpteenth time that hour. Kerii grinned sheepishly, suddenly self conscious under the scrutinizing gaze. "I'm sorry Kat-kun. If I could make it stop - trust me - I would."
"You can make it stop, idiot. By eating something," his glare still planted on his face, he dug around in his pocket until he pulled out a dried looking fruit. "It's not healthy that you're so damn hungry all the time." Kerii responded with a half-heartened shrug as she reached for the fruit, gladly excepting the offer. Though it was a small and hardly satisfying, it was at least something.
"Actually, that's not true at all," Hikara responded, pushing her glasses further up the bridge of her nose. "Kerii could be hungry all of the time because of something very healthy," she continued, excitement evident in her voice. She had the duo's attention in an instant, both of them interested in the higher pitch of her voice. "I'm thinking maybe ... just maybe ... now don't quote me, because I could be wrong..."
"Spit it out, will ya!" Katashi spat, growing annoyed.
Hikara shot him a pained look before answering:
"I think she has what it takes to become a Shinigami!"

Kerii began coughing hysterically, choking on the fruit that was, just moments ago, her life saver. Hikara rubbed gentle, soothing circles on her back, trying to calm her down. After the coughing fit was over and Kerii had calmed her nerves, she shakily looked up at Hikara. "...what?" she asked, eyes wide. That can't possibly be true. I-I can't have what it takes. I'm just little Kerii of Rukongai. "No, I can't be. There's...gotta be another explanation!! Maybe I'm sick or something."

Hikara frowned at her friend's obvious displeasure. "What's wrong? I thought you'd be excited.." Kerii shook her head, attempting to say 'I am most definitely okay'. Hikara must have misread the message though, for she quickly enveloped her smaller friend in a hug. "It's okay Kerii... it wasn't meant to scare you." Kerii opened her mouth to respond, but was suddenly cut off.

"No way, she can't be a Shinigami," Katashi's voice rang out, causing Kerii to frown.

"She didn't say I was a Shinigami, moron. She said I had what it takes," Kerii responded to her friend, annoyed.

"Don't you think she'd of noticed her spiritual pressure?" He asked, envy laced into his words.

"Of course I did! I just never mentioned it. What am I supposed to say; 'oh guys. Hey, I'm Kerii, nice to meet you, I have spiritual pressure.'?!" She finished the last part off in a mocking tone, clearly indicating just how stupid she found Katashi.

He growled. "It'd of been nice for you to at least mention it."

"Next time I will," she finished off in a sharp tone. Her eyes softened slightly a second later, peering down at the ground. "Besides, I doubt I do. I'm virtually a nameless soul ... I have nothing going for me. No memories, no skills, no nothing. Besides, how strong must my spiritual pressure be if I you guys can't even feel it."

It wasn't a question, but Hikara put her hand on Kerii's shoulder, fully ready to answer it, before a strange voice answered.
"Don't fret so much girl. Your spiritual pressure is definitely a strong one; I imagine your friends have just grown almost immune to it." The voice was followed by a deep chuckle, drawing Kerii's eyes to the strange man. He was old and questionable looking, causing her other friends to take a slight step back. It wouldn't be the first time they'd been approached by a psychopath.

Kerii, however, stood where she was. "Really? How do you know?" she asked, an eyebrow raising up slightly in question.

The man chuckled again, thoroughly amused. "I can feel it! Everybody around here probably can. As I said; your friends have grown immune. Ask them though, I'm sure if they opened their eyes enough they could feel it." Kerii remained silent, trusting yet unsure. The old man sighed. "Tell me girl, are your friends drawn to you? Drawn by some power you so obviously don't look like you possess," he gestured to her small body, causing a slight blush to spread across Kerii's cheeks. "You are naturally strong. You were the only one not to take a step back when I approached. You are filled with spiritual pressure and, if I was you, I would most definitely find the Shinō Academy. It offers a better life for you; one you so desperately need. You'll grow hungry unlike us. You also attract hollows unlike the rest of us. You need to go to the academy." He spoke matter-of-fact-ly, but there was also real concern in his eyes.

Kerii smiled slightly before turning to look at her friends. Before she could even open her mouth to answer, Hikara cut her off. "Don't you dare say you can't leave us. You can. We live in the 78th district most of the time, Kerii...we're dying," she finished off sadly, "we've already lost most of our group. You can not stay around long enough when there's more out there for you. Not when you have something so promising in your view. Please ... Kerii-chan ... do it for us." She smiled slightly, stepping forward, enveloping her friend in a hug. "Me and Katashi will be okay. Don't let us hold you back."

Kerii smiled, eyes tear-filled. "Ohh, Hikara-kun," she whispered, tightening the grip on her friend before letting her go, stepping back to take one last good look at her best friends face. Katashi walked over to her, slugging his arms over hers, wrapping her in a tight hug. "Everything she says is right," he whispered huskily, his voice broken with tears. "You need to do what you need to do." Kerii's eyes widened at her friend's words before she wrapped her own arms around him.

"You be safe, you idiot," she murmured, keeping him in her vice-like grip before stepping away. "Take care of each other. Katashi, you better watch out for Hikara, if anything happens to her, you die," she joked, knowing deep-down in her heart that she'd never see her two best friends again. "And you, Hikara ... just make sure he doesn't do anything incredibly stupid." Kerii flashed a toothy grin, tousling Kashi's hair before turning away. "I love you guys ... and I'll never forget you," she finished off lamely, waving good bye before setting off to her new destiny; her new life.
